I went to my psychiatrist and explained the increased anxiety and agitation, and he increased the wellbutrin to 300mgs daily and the Ativan .5mgs to 3x daily prn. Since this change, the anger and agitation has increased dramatically and I keep having fits of rage and feel as though people are constantly judging me negatively. This med change just happened a few days ago and my therapist suggested I wait it out another week, though I don't know if I can handle this anger much longer.
I also experienced some minor swelling of glands behind one ear and base of skull. My Dr. advised to stop wellbutrin and within one week all itching and swelling had subsided. My question is: Can this itching be controlled by taking a antihistimine with Wellburtin and also could taking Pepcid AC (otc strength) with the wellbutrin play any part in causing the reaction? Thank you for any help you may have to offer.
Here's a tip for to combat the sexual side effects of the SSRI's, for example, lexapro, prozac, zoloft, celexa and others: Ask your doctor for a prescription for buspar..or buspirone, the generic name. It completely reversed the sexual side effects my husband was experiencing to the point where he had to take down the dose of buspar. He said he felt like a teenager again, he's been on SSRI's since his early 20s and he's now 39. It takes about 4-6 weeks to start working, but it's worth a try.
wellbutrin enhances dopamine and norepinehprine which can help with mood and attention, but sometimes actually increases anxiety. If you try wellbutrin, start at a low dose and see how if affects you.
Yeah, I am thinking the same thing about the wellbutrin not being for me...I have slight OCD but major panic and anxiety and I just OVERTHINK everything...I just started the zoloft a few weeks ago and it really doesn't seem to be kicked in yet. I have to take the Xanax... I am not addicted I only take .25 or.5 at a time and have gone for days not taking it but I am going through a rough time right now...
me on to help other anti depressant work. They also put me on luvox for OCD. i have heard good and bad things about these combos with adderall. I dont want them to counteract the drug. So any thoughts would be great. Thanks.
I also forgot to mention I suffer from OCD and i am taking klonopin and luvox. Well back to the percocet, I would be taking double the recommended dosage in these days sometimes more or less. In the days I was not taking them I would smoke a half a pack. My father passed away last may and I managed to stop only for two weeks from the percocet. It was a hard time and I have guilt in myself for being high in that time. A little over a month ago I quit both smoking and taking the percocets.
I went to see a phsyciatrist and he put me on the real brand Effexor XR 75 mg and it's only the second dose and I'm not feeling right I feel funny and not like myself and have a upset stomach and panic attacks and nervousness and scared. Will this go away??
● Bupropion (wellbutrin) – This medication is often used for depression and has been found to be as effective as SSRIs. It is used widely and is generally safe. Of all the anti-depressants it appears to have the lowest incidence of sexual side effects. In fact, in most studies it had no more of these effects than a sugar pill (placebo.
I tried Zoloft, Paxil and Prozac and they made me nuts. I tried luvox and that made me a zombie. wellbutrin made me anxious. SOOOOO, my question is are there any others I should try or should I just do the Subuxone an not try any new antidepressants. I was thinking about trying Buspar but I'm not sure. Maybe antidepressants just aren't for me. I still take Ativan and would like to get off of that as well. I was thinking the Buspar might help with that.
I have been on Zoloft for three years, recently taking 50 mg of Zoloft in combination with 75 mg wellbutrin SR. Last spring, I tried to go off Zoloft gradually and completely over a period of weeks, but the tinnitus (or "whooshing," as I described it) in my ears was so bad that I had to increase my dosage back to 50 mg to make it stop. Even now, if I forget to take the Zoloft for a day or so, the "whoosing" comes back.

Personally I have kind of dropped off of it because I feel it makes me MORE groggy and withdrawn than helping. But then I am disgusted with feeling so tired and down and in pain BUT I'm not depressed about it at all. It's a nuisance but expected and I try to look at it that way. I hope you find the answers that you need. when I was new I posted questions so fast and furiously it was beyond words. You've come to the right place. Nobody ever seems to mind and they are just SO helpful!
Sometimes we add medications such as wellbutrin or Buspar to treat the sexual dysfunction related to the SSRI's. wellbutrin, Remeron, and Serzone are medications that can be used alone to treat depression and have a very low to no sexual dysfunction associated to them. Please have your husband discuss this issue further with his physician. This information is intended for general educational purposes only. Took it for about 4 years and it worked wonders during that time for my Severe depression and anxiety. Then it just kind of started fading away and became less and less effective so I had to switch meds. Then I switch to Effexor and got around another 4 years effectivness from it until it also pooped out slowly. I have never heard of hair loss being a side effect of any AD medication. I know for me it never caused any hair loss.
About 4 years ago I was going through a tough time - a breakup of a 4 year relationship. Until that point, I was not a real emotional type of person. I had a demanding job and was going through the breakup. I found myself going through crying fits - VERY out of the norm for me. For the first time in my life started to ask myself if there was something wrong with me. I went to see my family doctor about the situation. I was "diagnosed" with depression and put on wellbutrin and Lexapro.
I already take wellbutrin because a) it has helped me quit smoking cigarettes, and b) helps control my appetite, and c) there aren't sexual side-effects.
me on to help other anti depressant work. They also put me on luvox for OCD. i have heard good and bad things about these combos with adderall. I have had the best results with wellbutrin but after 3 years it became ineffective. luvox and wellbutrin together worked well for a short time and rather than making a change my psychiatrist just kept uping both doses but that is not working now. With every dose increase i have to wait 5 to six weeks and i just go through the steps of life. I have used Paxil with good results about ten years ago and gained 30 pounds! Prosac also worked well but ran it's course as well.
in answer to your questions i am bipolar i take wellbutrin (antidepressant), depakote (mood stablizer), ativan (antianxitey), and luvox (antidepressant)
The friend has reassured me time and time again that he is negative and plus we used protection. But everynow and then my ocd flares up and nothing that anyone says can convince me otherwise. The friend thinks that I am a complete lunatic and we hardly speak to each other anymore as a result of all this. This isn't the first time I have thought I have had HIV, in the past I have worried about this and despite negative tests I still remained convinced that I have HIV.
Paresthesia is an unusual but possible side effect of the Serotonin Specific Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs), including Zoloft, Paxil, Prozac, Celexa, and luvox. It is difficult to predict if the paresthesia will resolve or not. If medical or dermatological causes of the paresthesia have been excluded, your treating physician/psychiatrist may consider treating you with an anti-histaminic medication such as Benadryl, or switch you to a non-SSRI antidepressant such as wellbutrin or Remeron.
ALSO I READ ON FORUMS THAT ANAFRANIL, EFEXOR, INOSITOL, luvox WITH ANAFRANIL, PROZAC WITH RISPERDAL and CELEXA NAMEBRand WITH wellbutrin NAMEBRand, VILAZODONE and ZYPREXA (OLANZAPINE) ADDED TO A POPULAR SSRI ARE EFFECTIVE TOO. WHICH OF THESE WOULD YOU RECOMMEND PLEASE ?
Other medications with low or no incidence of sexual dysfunction include wellbutrin and Remeron. You may want to discuss other alternatives regarding your present medications to your physician.

Since my body had such a horrible reaction from the previous antidepressants (wellbutrin, Celexa, Remeron, and Prozac...and I think even a few more like Butral) I AM EXTREMELY FRIGHTENED to go back on one once again. I feel like I'm back at square one all over again. No one has been able to help me at all. Bottom line is, I don't feel depressed, I just feel really fatiqued all the time and mostly sick to my stomach.
Also has anyone tried luvox for OCD? I've been on Prozac and Zoloft and still mAnage to not be able to control scary thought. After I had my daughter they got real bad too.
I had my first seizure 2/11 at 30 years old. They blamed it on luvox, wellbutrin, and tramadol and took me off all three. I still had seizures every few months so they recently put me on a seizure med. I started treatment for hep c last week and I had another one. They all happen in my sleep and last anywhere from 10-40 minutes, and it takes almost an hour for me to snap out of it afterwards. I've had tests done and they all came back negative.
