luvox and ocd

lUVOX IS FANTASTIC FOR MY DEPRESSION AND OCD. I also have the greatest therapist in the world. Along with his help, luvox has been like gold.

What medications other than Luvox or Celexa could I use for anxiety and ocd? I feel Luvox aint working neither was Celexa. My problem is I cant relax and Im always worrying. I have no compulsions except going on the internet and looking for answers and finding distressing news that I think apply to me. Im tired of this. I deserve to enjoy my life! I dont want to worry about getting it up or my sexual performance. Help!

i have been on luvox for 1 year and its a very good medicine with minimum side effects ,so please give it a try and regarding weight gain i think it is the dullness caused by these medicines that we gain weight , which we can counter by exercises.

He is on 300mg of Anafranil since December and started Luvox at the end of December and doctor has been increasing the luvox, so he is now on 300mg of luvox as of two days ago. This is the strange part.....every time the doctor increased one of these meds, my son can feel a difference (thoughts are not that intrusive or severe), but this only lasts about 3-4 days and then he feels that he is back to where he started at the lower dose of 50mg.

Im on celexa for depression and anxiety and OCD. its helping my depression and anxiety, but not really touching my OCD like my doctor had hoped. He upped my dose last week and Im going to give it a few weeks to see, but if it doesnt seem to be working, Im going to ask him about luvox.

Ok i am on luvox and alot of other meds. My main concern is that the luvox will counteract the adderall in some way. Does any one have any experince with this or can give me some info on how luvoz has worked for them?

Anyone else been on this for OCD? I just took my first one and I'm a little nervous cuz my psychiatrist said it could make me jumpy.

Even so I am still dissatisfied with where I am right now, as I still show very many symptoms of OCD and anxiety. My doctor has mentioned both anifanil and luvox as alternatives, but I am somewhat reluctant to change what I am on now since I am "stable" and fear I could get worse if I change medication, at the same time I know that I am still suffering from the effects of OCD.

does anyone have any experiance with this or can recommend another medicine that may work for my ocd and anxiety. my ocd is the scary thoughts and it was all caused after a major surgery i went through. it is getting better but i still have some issues.

I'm currently prescribed on 100 mg of luvox and 10 mg of abilify. However, I've been mistreated by nearly everyone I met in the past 4 years in high school. Teachers, students, everyone. It can't be them, I'm thinking. It has to be me. As punishment, I want to make my OCD worse until I can barely control it. If I stop taking Luvox and Abilify, will I suffer some sort of neurological damage? Or will the only effect be that my OCD will become worse?

Having some wicked triggers and anxiety that I hope and pray will calm down once the Luvox is up to level. I have worked with CBT for years in the past and it sort of helped, but I really do still suffer.

I would like for him to change meds, come off the Seroquel and maybe go on another drug (antidepressant such as Luvox) for his OCD. How long would it take for him to wean off Seroquel and start another drug? I feel since he started taking Seroquel in 2004, his eye problem has gotten worse and I would like him to come off the drug. I don't know if this will help with his eyes or not. Any suggestions/comments would be appreciated.

Hello, it's been about 5 days since I've used the meds and I feel that it's slowly working, which for me is great!!! And no it's no harm whatsoever thoughts. I actually see my doctor next thursday and along with the Luvox I'm taking half of a pill of .5mg xanax. And it seems like it's working for me. THANK YOU for the advice it means a lot to me! And to be honest I think I'm beginning to feel like my old self again! But once again thank you!!

me on to help other anti depressant work. They also put me on luvox for OCD. i have heard good and bad things about these combos with adderall. I dont want them to counteract the drug. So any thoughts would be great. Thanks.

I have ocd, gad, and moderate depression (all have been formally diagnosed). A week ago my psychiatrist stopped my 200 mgs of zoloft and started me on luvox 50 mgs a day for the first two weeks then 100 mgs a day there after. A couple days later I started expiriencing major withdrawal symptoms, severe anxiety and panic (more so than usual), insomnia, and some slight agoraphobia (I don't like to leave the house, but I will if I need too) and even stronger ocd symptoms.

I have an 11 yo daugthe ris being taken off of Luvox 50 mg after 1 1/2 yr. and going to start Cymbalta 30 mg. The doc said to just switch. Is this safe? Does anyone have any input? Please help!

I forgot~I was diagnosed with OCD and tried Paxil, Prozac, Lexapro, Celexa, and Wellbutrin which were all unsuccessful. Luvox worked but I am ready to try and live life without it.

I assume you have seen a doctor and been diagnosed with OCD and/or anxiety. In my opinion, especially when we worry about our health, if we look for it, we will find it. It does not matter how outlandish it may seem to someone else...for us it is real. Can it be part of a panic attack or OCD? I would say, sure it can be from both. During a panic attack, people often become very pale and have a myriad of symptoms...it can really throw us for a loop.

That is the earliest SSRI anti-depressent which are also used to treat ocd. Luvox has less side effects but is in the same class. But they can't just switch one to another in a day. You have to be titrated off one and onto another. As for the Lexapro whether that's for anxiety, depression or ocd it would all depend. But speak to your psychiatrist about the specifics about what you are being given.

Hello, Yesturday, I went to my therapist for the first time in a couple of months. She finally came up with a diagnosis which is OCD. She prescribed me Luvox. I took the 50mg of Luvox for the first time today. And I felt a little better. It's been about 4 hours since I took it. But now I'm really nervous for some reason that somehow the medicine won't work for me or in the future. And that the bad thoughts I'm having are true about me.

I have always suffered from anxiety and panic attacks. For 10 years I was on Luvox with pretty good results. After ten years I started having tinnitus and visual anomalies, like while driving down the road I couldn't look at the things passing by because it started to make me feel dizzy. Then one night after about a week of switching manufactures for my Luvox, I rolled over in bed and it seemed everything else came a second later.

I suffer from DPD, Anxiety, Panic disorder and OCD. I also take Luvox 100mg at dinner time at about 6pm. I just want to know how long a part can you take these medications? I don't exactly want to take them together unless they interact with each other.

Also has anyone tried Luvox for OCD? I've been on Prozac and Zoloft and still mAnage to not be able to control scary thought. After I had my daughter they got real bad too.

It may be because I am so hopeful but I think it is already working. It hasn't made me sleepy or hungry. She gave it to me for my OCD and depression. And I have tried a lot of stuff and it was one I haven't tried. I am excited for the time being. Thanks for the replies.

Who prescribed this combination to you? Both are ssris and combining the two does risk serotonin syndrome or even less than that just too much direct targeting of serotonin. Was this done because you've tried everything and everything has failed so your psychiatrist is looking for out of the box solutions? If you're already taking this combo, is it working or are you suffering odd symptoms?

If you are taking one of the standard medications for ocd such as the SSRI anti-depressents (Prozac, Paxil, Luvox, Effexor) this could be the problem. Speak to your psychiatrist about and ask if that could be what the cause is.

i thought adderal was supposed to stop them but with all meds you might have the opposite reaction, from memory it also makes you really ******* hungry, i take luvox for OCD its anti anxiety and anti depressant. Wirh any anti depressant you need to continutally monitor WHAT they are thinking cause for one person it make them fell normal and in another they may think hammering nails into their head is a cool idea. Nausea all that stuff is common, just check the thoughts, what are they thinking.

I am suffering from OCD since 9 years and I had taken various types of SSRIs (prescribed by psychiatrists) during last four years I was on a high dose of Lavox with some psychotic drugs and and Clomaphranil. These drugs cause me to have a lot of sleep , I usually sleep about 12-14 hours a day. During these four years I had done nothing, I had not watched any movie,TV show not any game, sports and even had not participate in any type of social activity.
