luvox and lithium

The Luvox CR comes in 100 mg capsules. Would it be okay to take 200 mg of Luvox CR on one day and 100 mg of Luvox CR the next, and alternate since I can't divide the capsules? Thank you.

During all this I started a new job and I would lay in bed at night and have bad anxiety and panic attacks and I could not sleep . I stated taking .5 alprazolam and it helped for a little while then nothing. My dr. Started me on ambien and lunesta with little relief from either drug. The I started 100mg of trazadone with my .5 alprazolam. I started with a quarter of the trazadone .25 and quickly went all the way up to 200. And still it was a coin toss if I was going to sleep or not.

I took one 40mg pill of Latuda for six days and stopped and then about 40 hrs later took one 50mg pill of Luvox, and have been taking Luvox since then for a couple of days. I said, 26 hours at first but I counted wrong. Should I have waited longer before taking Luvox? How long before the Latuda is out of my body? I took my last pill of Latuda Tuesday, July 3rd at maybe like 11:00pm and my first pill of Luvox Friday July, 6th, around 12:00am.

I am also pretty sure she will not tell her doctor she is taking it and I know for a fact she will not breathe a word to her mother who works in the medical feild and knows her stuff. Also, my friend told me herself that the medication for her bipolar (Luvox) increases caffiene's effects 5 fold. Am I being too much of a worry wort, or is there some valid medical advice I can be given to help bring her to he senses?

Took Viagra no problem went back on klonopin and luvox and didnt need viagra. Had another case of performance anxiety two years later and my obsessions started again. Used Viagra and then no problem.Met my wife 6 months ago again performance anxiety, took cialis and it worked until I made a decision to try celexa for two weeks and I dont know if it was my anxiety or fear or did it really kill my sex drive. Viagra or Cialis didnt work. Went back on Luvox up to 150mg and Neurontin 300mg 2x a day.

im having a hundred different emotions from that situation as well. has anyone had similar side effects from taking geodon and luvox and what are some side effects if any that i should look out for?

I have an 11 yo daugthe ris being taken off of Luvox 50 mg after 1 1/2 yr. and going to start Cymbalta 30 mg. The doc said to just switch. Is this safe? Does anyone have any input? Please help!

Ask her why Luvox? It isn't used often, it has a very short half life, and interacts adversely with many medications. As for weight gain, you can gain weight on any of them. Or not. I was an avid basketball player, studied kung fu, and ran while on Paxil and gained 50 pounds. You just never know.

i was on luvox for many year's and it did great,then i had a down turn and went into depression and did not care about anything.so now i am on effexor.it seem's ok,but not as good as luvox was.they said after that many year's on it,it could have run it's course.so they changed it.i asked my doctor if i could go back on luvox because it worked really well for me,and she said that will definatley be open for disscussion.

I've been on lithium for several years. At first I gained weight but after I got used to it my body just levelled off. If I was worried about anything it was the depression that was making me gain weight not only from eating but also not moving around much. If lithium gives you a few extra pounds it might be an ok thing if you get your life back. You have to watch your salt intake. Sure too much is bad but having the levels fluctuate isn't so good either.

Hi, once in a while when I take my meds without food, I feel very ill, almost flu-like. I get hot and cold and hang out by the toilet. my pdoc hasn't sent me for bloodwork in a few months or more (can't remember last time I went... ok, I checked my calendar; Nov 19 and I started lithium Nov 27). I have a thyroid problem and it runs in the family. I've already been told to look for a new pdoc. I just want to know what the symptoms are if you are getting toxic from the lithium...

t realizing from your post, I think, is that your wife has already quit this drug -- she tapered off it probably at a slower and safer rate of speed than most doctors and psychiatrists would have done. But Luvox has the shortest half-life of any antidepressant out there, which means it leaves the body very very quickly. That makes it hard for the brain to adapt to operating normally again.

i have been on luvox for 1 year and its a very good medicine with minimum side effects ,so please give it a try and regarding weight gain i think it is the dullness caused by these medicines that we gain weight , which we can counter by exercises.

I have also developed a thyroid nodule (after 2 years on lithium) and am taking 100 mcg of synthroid a day. Did the lithium cause the thyroid problem and is it reversible if the lithium is stopped?

I may have a mood disoder but not be full blown bipolar. Will try to get an SSRI like Luvox or Paxil and see how it goes. My appt is in a few hours. In addition, I plan in seeing a different therapist. The psychologist took it very personal that I missed the appointment due to the panic incident.

A week ago my psychiatrist stopped my 200 mgs of zoloft and started me on luvox 50 mgs a day for the first two weeks then 100 mgs a day there after. if i have carb cravings from lithium than the more carbs i eat the more fat i get. my question is how do you stop lithium induced carb cravings? when i eat meat and vegetables i feel full and satisfied but later in the morning i get this craving for bread and potatoes. its a vicious cycle i can't let go of. please help me with this dilemma.
