710513 tn?1247522479 I started taking Vicodin 2+ years ago for a back problem, had surgury 2 months ago.....I am so pleased to say I am now 9 days clean..the first 8 were absolutly miserable but there seemd to be a light at the end of this tunnel. I only took 6 7.5's per day, i would occasionaly sneak in an extra 1 or 2 but for the most part stayed at 6.. I thank all of you who take the time to reply as i can tell you it made a hugh difference to me. The one issue I struggled with and still am is sleep.
266660 tn?1189755834 Did you talk with your doctor about taking the two together, like a half hour before bed? I used to take my kpin before bed with some medication that makes you tired together. How does the lunesta work btw?
Avatar f tn d the rozarem along with the lunesta (this was my sub doctor - said it was perfectly safe and I had no bad effects from it). I actually liked the rozarem. I dont know if youve ever seen the "It brings your dreams back" commercials, but it REALLY DID bring my dreams back. I got such a kick out of that. I dreampt every night. (I no longer ever dream). I stopped getting it though as it was not covered under my insurance and couldnt afford it.
Avatar f tn Hey all, so I got tired of not sleeping more than 4hrs a night after being off of Tramadol 42days and my Dr gave me Lunesta. I asked if it was addicting and he said yes but you won't buid up a tolerance to it... I would like to hear this though from someone that has taken this medication and has had to come off it... How hard was it? What where the wds like???ect.ect any info on this would be appreciated...Thank You. Jeffi.
2021910 tn?1339896686 I'm on Ambien every night, otherwise, I would only get 2 hours of sleep a night. The benefits outweigh the risks. My doctor said there is a chance of depending on it to put you to sleep, but when my newborn comes, I'll wean off of it from having to be up with him all night. I even took Ambien with my first son, and he was born picture perfect. Get some rest!
Avatar m tn The highest available dose of Lunesta is 3mg. Recently, thought is that Lunesta, Ambien, and others in this class are very similar to benzodiazepine drugs. But I haven't read much about addiction or withdrawl from these meds. Seems like insomnia would be a given, but you could try melatonin or valerian root to combat that. Good luck either way.
Avatar f tn It's 3 weeks since I've been having a pretty serious depression, including anxiety & sleeplessness. I was put on a new antidepressant LexiPro (15 days now), xanax as needed, which I only need to "take the edge off" when Im shaky, and Lunesta to sleep. This is the 2nd time I've used Lunesta.
Avatar f tn Celexa (depression), Ultram (pain) Vicodin (bad pain), Lunesta (to stay asleep), and now Provigil (to stay awake in the day). I have say, these all are helping, but maybe about 50%. The pain never goes away, only flucuates to bad or worse. The Lunesta is great. I tried Ambien & Sonata, but couldn't handle the side effects. Lunesta keeps me asleep but doesn't make me feel hung-over in the morning.
Avatar m tn I have been taking oxycodone 10/mg for roughly 5 years now, started out with 5/mg tabs 4x a day, then convinced the Doctor to up the dosage to 10 mgs 4x a day about 3 years ago. The short story is my wife broke her back and pelvis in a horse-riding accident in 2007 and has a pharmacy of her own. I have steadily increased the dosage over the years to about 140/mg a day by using her pharmacy to (steal)supplement my addiction.
Avatar n tn I take between 14-20 7,5 vicadene everyday for 10 yrs then take 9 mg of lunesta to sleep.
Avatar n tn here is my story,,,,,two years ago i started taking vicodin,a year later i was up to 30 a day,,went to a treatment program did well there ,next i got 2 weeks later i relapsed,,,so this time after a month or two i went to my doctor,he put me on suboxin for 3 months............stayed clean till oct 2008 ,i hurt back and doctor gave me vicodin, iwas wary of takin them but i neededd to stop the pain so i took 4-6 pills per day up to this past sunday.
Avatar n tn I've been off and on vicodin for 3 years for disc herniation. Most of the time used the prescription correctly. Last year was my bottom when I was taking 2 every 4 hours up to 8 a day and drank one night and got arrested. I am a divorced professional mom and the shame killed me. I have only had to have 2 prescriptions since then when my back went out so bad I couldn't walk. Started physical therapy again along with blood tests and a new doctor.
Avatar f tn try also a long walk in the evening and a hot bath before going to bed with epsom salts and one of these sleepy teas along with the melatonin.. also are you having trouble with RLS ?
1444901 tn?1284749942 At my pain dr app yesterday they gave me a tens unit and lunesta. I slept descently but that dam lunesta gave me some kind of nasty taste in my mouth. normal? I been shocking the ship outa my legs to stop the leg pain, and if i turn it any higher ill start convulsing. ha! Seriously though, i need someone to tell me how to get the energy to go to my pool and swim or do something..
Avatar n tn I used to take Ambien, and I had great results with it for a short time. But with all medications, it eventually lost it's effectiveness, and I switched to Lunesta. Lunesta was a good alternative for me. I never had nausea with either med., but I have experienced the daytime grogginess with both. It does go away after a while, as you become adjusted to it. Unfortunatly for me, sleep medications only work for a short time. I am a true insomniac, and nothing works for long.
1355301 tn?1287967641 I can understand why you're leary about trying the Ambien - I've never had any trouble with it, but of course, everyone is different and how a medication affects one person may or may not be how it affects someone else. I would suggest if you do decide at some point to give the Ambien a try, definitely try it on a night when your husband is not working, just on teh off chance that you do have a "reaction" to it. What dose of teh Lunesta are you currently taking?
Avatar f tn t sleeping much, but finally figured that out. I take 3mg Lunesta with 100mg of Meclizine and I can sleep through the night. Crazy I know, but it works.....Still very sleepy during the day and have to take a nap around lunch time. Thanks for the response.
Avatar m tn I took Valerian root last night and that helped a bit. My biggest problem now is my mood and overall frustration with getting on with life as a normal human being. I think we all take drugs for a reason..something is missing chemically, spiritually or both. The energy to find that sober overwhelmes me. Any thoughts.
Avatar m tn I have been on 80 mg. Of oxy for a year now n quit cold turkey Friday night. I had no idea what I was in for. The muscle spasms , migriane followed by vomiting. Can't sleep so tried. Final call some local abuse hotline. They were closed for mlk. Call my doc. On 4th day gave Xanax for a week and lunesta at night is this a bad idea? My wife.
Avatar n tn can i take lunesta with a natural sleep aid that has melatonin, valerian root, passionflower, chamomile, hops extract and 5-HTP?

Avatar f tn Hi, I've taken 6 mg lunesta, 8 mg ativan, zzzquil (benadryl with 10% alcohol). I also take Luvox and desipramine daily. Any chance this is too much? Really want to sleep but insomnia.
Avatar n tn Yes, my doc said it is ok to take the ambein every day. It is not supposed to be addicting. but I do think you get dependent on it. You think you are not going to sleep without it so you go ahead and take it every night. I tried lunesta but couldn't get past the taste. It stayed with me all night. I also take ambein . It helps with irritability.
