Lunesta vs simply sleep

Common Questions and Answers about Lunesta vs simply sleep

lunesta

Avatar n tn I am having to take sleeping pills to sleep. I tried Ambien, Ambien CR, Lunesta, and amitriptyline. Each medicine would only let me sleep for four hours a night. So I am taking the Lunesta right now. But it is very hard functioning during the day as I am very fatigued. My body previously was use to getting 8 hours of sleep a day. Do you know of any other medicines that would help with longer sleep? How long does it usually take for the sleep to return on its own?
Avatar f tn It's 3 weeks since I've been having a pretty serious depression, including anxiety & sleeplessness. I was put on a new antidepressant LexiPro (15 days now), xanax as needed, which I only need to "take the edge off" when Im shaky, and Lunesta to sleep. This is the 2nd time I've used Lunesta.
2021910 tn?1339896686 i ask my doctor wat i could take to make me sleep since im only get 3 hrs of sleep and she told me not to take sleeping pill. she recommended benadryl (not spelled right).
Avatar n tn Which sleep aid is less addicting and less toxic, ambien or lunesta. I have heard ambien is hard on your liver.
Avatar m tn The highest available dose of Lunesta is 3mg. Recently, thought is that Lunesta, Ambien, and others in this class are very similar to benzodiazepine drugs. But I haven't read much about addiction or withdrawl from these meds. Seems like insomnia would be a given, but you could try melatonin or valerian root to combat that. Good luck either way.
335728 tn?1331414412 ll add a new category of treatments called anti-depressants to the sleep tracker in the near future. Zopiclone is actually the generic name for Lunesta, so go ahead and use Lunesta (already in the tracker) to track usage of Zopiclone. We'll let you know when anti-depressants are available to track.
Avatar m tn My concern would be taking any sleep med without knowing why your sleep is problematic. For instance, if you would happen to have sleep apnea, sleep medications can not only camouflage it, but also worsen it. You've got the entire rest of your life to need good sleep. Becoming dependent on any med that warns to use only short term is a recipe for trouble. Besides dependence, many meds become less effective over time.
Avatar f tn You sleep good on Ambien, so that is potentially promising. Do you mean you get up in the middle of the night and shop and text and tell jokes *after* you have taken Ambien? I would think not because that would mean you do not sleep good - but I just wanted to be certain. Ambien has a short therapeutic window and my doctor always told me to take it literally right before I went to bed. Not 30 minutes or so until I get drowsy. If there is a way you can do that, Ambien might work.
Avatar n tn But after a bed svt episode in december, i have been needing something stronger for my sleep anxiety. My doc also recommended me Lunesta but im too scared to try it, its 3mg. I think that might be a too high of a dose. Does anyone know what can help me sleep without anxiety? Has anyone else tried Lunesta for sleep anxiety. I have tried not sleeping with any med but end up staying up all night panicing even though i am super tired. Please help me get back to sleep so i can focus more on my life.
486038 tn?1300063367 HI, I don't sleep well either. My neuro gave me some lunesta. He said that if I don't get enough sleep, things will just get worse. For about the past yeat, I have been taking 2 Benedril before bed. I worked fairly well. Sweet Dreams!
Avatar f tn One of the main reasons I want to quit is I heard a doctor on a raido talk show talk about how sleep aids like Lunesta or Ambien are good for very very short term, but its not real sleep and your not getting the proper cycle and the proper rest period on them. May be the reason Im so tired all the time. Doc doesnt seem overly concerned with my using it or stopping it.
Avatar n tn Has anyone tried lunesta and experienced better sleep with it? I am afraid of trying lunesta because i dont want to feel so nausea again. I didn't take any sleep med last night...didnt have a very good sleep but still i feel nausea. I need something to help me sleep without causing nausea and to help me sleep like a baby throughout the night pleaseee.
Avatar n tn The Lexapro help greatly in the diminishing the GAD but I just could not exist with 45 minutes of sleep a night. I was taking Lunesta 3mg prior to the Lexapro for 1 1/2 years. With the Lexapro, the Lunesta was ineffective. The MD put me on 15mg of Remeron with the Lunesta and this really helped.
Avatar f tn A cocktail of 10 mg of belsomra and 1 mg of lunesta will allow you to sleep again. Should that not work then add 1 mg of lunesta. Finally, you can do 25mg of belsomra and 3 mg of lunesta... for those with lupis wgo can never sleep. One could also at this point aleep whenever tired; like during the day without drugs. But then youd likely be done for the day; vut you did without medicating for one say. At this point your body is severly messed up and you cant work: so anytime is good.
266660 tn?1189755834 ) I was prescribed Klonopin for anxiety and sleep and she said to not take it with Lunesta (this is after I asked *her*, she didn't mention it until then.) The Klonopin seems to work as well as the Lunesta, BTW. Kevin, I've read that Lunesta and Ambien are the same "types" of sleep aids but that is all I know. I hope Ryan can clear this up for us.
1355301 tn?1287967641 Well, I have gone 3 nights without the lunesta and was able to sleep better. I still dream, but not as vivid and not as wild. I know it won't take long before I'll need something different, but maybe I can gather the courage to try the ambien soon. My PCP is scared of it because it caused her to do weird things that fortunately her husband was there to stop her from getting out of hand. Maybe I can get her to get me a sleep study as well.
Avatar n tn That site and some others linked up here will give you clinically accurate advice from a consumer perspective to educate yourself and bring to your psychiatrist. Lunesta and Rozerem are good options for sleep, especially Rozerem which in working like melatonin can actually adjust the sleep cycle. However, if Effexor was prescribed as an anti-depressent let that get adjusted before trying additional sleep aids as untreated depression causes insomnia.
1444901 tn?1284749942 At my pain dr app yesterday they gave me a tens unit and lunesta. I slept descently but that dam lunesta gave me some kind of nasty taste in my mouth. normal? 1102799 tn?1269237714 I'm having a slightly different problem. I'm exhausted by bedtime but when I sleep, I'm up after 4-5 hours. After that I just toss and turn in the bed all night. Then I end up having to take a 2-3 hour nap during the day. But even when I skip the nap, I still don't sleep well. I thought it was just because I worked 3rd shift for years but I don't know. I don't have any helpful suggestions though. Sorry.
Avatar m tn I remember taking them when I was taking like6-8mg of xanax a day and I quit and took the trazadone to help w/sleep cause benzo w/d is rough and sleep doesnt come easy.Well to my surprise it helped a lot with not feeling like I was gonna jump out of my skin. The only thing is for me((maybe cause I needed it so badly)I slept9+hours the1st few times I took it).
Avatar m tn my legs r raw from always moving n shaken I just want to sleep lunesta gave 4hrs. When I go back to work will I be the man I was over a year ago. Or sum mindless zombie?
Avatar f tn ) it made me so hungry all I wanted to do was eat, and it did not let me sleep. Fetzima is fairly new and not much reviews. I did try to research Lunesta and Addrell together, not finding anything on those 2 together. The info I find on long term Lunesta use states if the person does not have prior drug abuse (I've never had this issue) there was reason to be concerned. I was not having any side effects from them at all. Question- has anyone else had problems with Lunesta and Adderall?
Avatar n tn You think you are not going to sleep without it so you go ahead and take it every night. I tried lunesta but couldn't get past the taste. It stayed with me all night. I also take ambein . It helps with irritability.
327369 tn?1326119908 How many of you struggle with sleep problems even when you seem to be medicated properly? Just sick of it here and needing to vent. I sleep so great some nights and others it is a struggle.....I am either wired, heart is palpitating, etc. and then I get anxious because I cannot sleep and know that I will be tired at work the next day. I have some xanex that helps sometimes and I have tried melatonin but nothing is great at helping me. I do not like lunesta or ambien because of side effects.
Avatar m tn Hi, how long have you been on the Zoloft and how much? Is it for anxiety? I have been on it for about 5 weeks, 25mg. I take it in the morning, even so sleeping is very difficult, if I do fall asleep I wake up every hour or so. I have heard this is common with Zoloft. My doctor told me to take Xanax to sleep, also tried Trazodone, Melatonin, and many over the counter - the only thing that works is the Xanax however I won't take this every night.
Avatar n tn can i take lunesta with a natural sleep aid that has melatonin, valerian root, passionflower, chamomile, hops extract and 5-HTP?
Avatar n tn Now, just like with pain pills when you take sleeping pills be prepared to go to sleep. They are aiding you not making you go to sleep. It is not anesthesia so don't expect it to work as such. I no longer can afford the lunesta I go to my local VA for my medications and they don't carry lunesta. They do carry Trazadone which is just ok, but I can't take it because it gives me horrible congestion. I would rather breath throgh my nose than sleep.
