A friend gave me lunesta once i started hallucinating from insomnia. I never to it regularly. I would wait until I started feeling wacky from lack of sleep, then when I couldn't handle it, I would take one. It helped me sleep about 6hrs, but that was a lot after sleeping 7 hrs a weeks. My sleep is still messed up after 200 and something days, but I get two blocks of 3-4 hrs now, and am able to function.
Since starting i have noticed that i wake up with dry mouth and when i eat everything has no taste and i have the same taste or feeling in my mouth no matter what i eat. I asked the nurses and they tell me they have never heard of that and its not the methadone. Am i imagining this or has anyone else had this issue? Also my teeth hurt and i noticed that they are wearing flat on the top, Is this all a side effect of the drug?
The only side effect I had was strange taste in my mouth when it started to kick in. But I would fall asleep and STAY asleep for 7 to 8 hours. When I wake up, Im wide awke and feel rested. If not, after the first 3 nights of not sleeping I would have been in the hospital because I felt like I was going crazy. Rozerem did not work as fast at nite and I did wake up and was sleepy in the morning. My brother in law takes it. He seems to like it. But hes also not an addict of any sort.
I never tried remeron, but ambien was horrible and so was resterol the taste of the lunesta that it leaves in your mouth is horrible so there is no easy answer but I did find the ativan did help for a while and I still take it with the lunesta and I agree if I get a good nights sleep the next day is much better.
Hi recently developed a strange taste in my mouth. The taste is bad and it makes me feel like i didn't brush my teeth even after i spend at least 5 minutes brushing them. Recently i have developed a infection to the left side of the base of my tongue.I look like small bums and it burns. I think it is inflamed. Could this infection cause the taste in my mouth? How could i solve this problem ?
I was in the hospital for 3 weeks and had 3 surgeries ...one thing led to another and I ended up with a full resection.
I had taken up to 2.5mg of Xanax and 3 mg of Lunesta for 4 years, and these were pulled abruptly from me upon admission. In the hospital I had hallucinating dreams and insomnia -- also at the same time had 4 does of anthesia, plus IV pain drugs, then morphine, then percocet.
My NEW APRN psych person says I didn't have anywithdrawal. Did I? I think I did.
Hi I am experiencing the same kind of symptoms, with dry mouth, and really bad taste in my mouth, And peeling on the roof of my mouth, and severely chapped lips all of the sudden, after giving oral to my boyfriend as well So I started researching cuz i had the sore throat cold chills and body aches so it scared me cuz this was three days after I had given Oral, and I was worried I had caught something from not protecting myself with him.
Some describe it as “tinny,” “metallic,” “ammonia,” “blood-like,” “blood in the mouth,” bitter, or some other odd smell or taste. This smell or taste is not related to something you’ve eaten or from your environment. Most often it has no rational explanation.
So that could be most likely just a form of a panic attack but since you said you are on meds I would report this to your health care provider and have them look into this. It could be a side effect and you need to ask a professional.
It could also be an abnormal perception of bitter taste called dysgeusia. GERD and heart burn too cause metallic taste in mouth. Post nasal drip as in sinusitis, salivary glands infection, pharyngitis or strep infection too are common causes. Certain dentures and artificial tooth or filling of dental cavities too give an odd metallic taste. Sjogren’s syndrome and copper or lead toxicity are other possibilities. It can also be common side effect of many medications.
You might try taking a combination of Valerian and Melatonin when you stop the Lunesta. I was taking Lunesta in my early withdrawals and it did make me sleep, but that nasty taste was to much for me. I must say I haven't really slept really well since, but the herbs I mention do help somewhat, I take a hot bath before bed then I take them. From what I've heard Lunesta withdrawals are mainly mental, but you can get addicted to just about anything.
I have had a "salty" taste in my mouth that nothing seems to get rid of. Recently, I had a really bad (putrid) taste that my dentist attributed to a bridge that was loose. My dentist removed and recemented the bridge, which seemed to eliminate the really bad taste, but not the "salty" taste. It seems to be coming from the same tooth that had the bad taste. My dentist declares that it cannot be from this tooth, that the cement has sealed the tooth off.
I have the worst taste in my mouth. First, it started off as a metallic/copperish taste. Now, it's progressing to a soapy taste. No matter how much I drink, brush my teeth, or rinse my mouth out with soap, I still have this awful taste. I went to the dentist today and he said everything was fine... no gingivitis, irritation, etc. Nothing.
The only thing I can think of is I took an antibiotic (ciprofloxacin) for a sinus infection weeks ago. Other than that, nothing.
