Common Questions and Answers about Lunesta quit working

lunesta

Avatar m tn My doctor offered me Lunesta, but I'm not excited about another pill. I haven't slept much for two weeks and wondered if it was worth a try. Melatonin and Benadryl haven't helped much.

Avatar f tn It's 3 weeks since I've been having a pretty serious depression, including anxiety & sleeplessness. I was put on a new antidepressant LexiPro (15 days now), xanax as needed, which I only need to "take the edge off" when Im shaky, and Lunesta to sleep. This is the 2nd time I've used Lunesta.
Avatar m tn Now i got to quit this suboxone totally. Reading most of the experts post That everytime u drop your dose u need to be on That dose for 3 days so your brain got accustomed to it? its been 2 days on That dose, tday im gonna try not to take it. My Doc prescribed me some 350mg soma for the pain and lunesta for sleep. Im going to try taking soma if the pain becomes unbearable, any advice pls?
Avatar m tn I have been on 80 mg. Of oxy for a year now n quit cold turkey Friday night. I had no idea what I was in for. The muscle spasms , migriane followed by vomiting. Can't sleep so tried. Final call some local abuse hotline. They were closed for mlk. Call my doc. On 4th day gave Xanax for a week and lunesta at night is this a bad idea? My wife.
Avatar m tn Hi there, I have been on ONLY 20mg of norco for the past three years, for a shoulder injury. I never took anymore than this in a day (usually 20mg at night), and decided to quit cold turkey. I am a personal trainer and just did not want to be a slave to opiates. I had the normal withdrawal symptoms (nausea, lightheadedness, heart racing, flu-like symptoms, etc.) Now this is where it get strange.
Avatar m tn I have been on Lunesta 3 mg for 10 years. PTSD and Chronic insomnia following a MVA 10 years ago.. Also, just tapered off Lexapro I was also on this for 10 years and it took me 6 months to taper down. Been on 1mg Xanex for 10 years and stopped abruptly last week. Stopped the Lunesta 5 days ago cold turkey, and same thing with the xanex- Severe withdrawl symptoms appeared 5 days ago.
Avatar f tn I then went to a sleep specialist, referred by my family physician. He made me do a sleep study then put me on Lunesta. It did not help keep me asleep or help to find full rest. Then I begin to have digestive issues (blood and mucous in stool) which resulted in a colonoscopy. The results were evasive at best – ulcers present – most likely IBD or Chrohn's.
Avatar f tn The teas helped me the most and believe it or not motrin. Push comes to shove can you get a rx mild sleep aid? Lunesta, kinda thing? Ambien is in my opinion is to strong. I like the yogi calming tea and the traditional Medicinals.Warm soaks before bed, and prayer. Good luck to you.
Avatar n tn i am on lunesta, i take a break every now and then, but the doc said it was ok.
Avatar m tn The only thing you can do about your situation really is first and foremost talk with you med manager and therapist, see if they can help you. Although, I still have the same problem as you (but I think I know why I am like this, and no med will completely fix it for me) I'm on 60mg Cymbalta with 1mg Clonazapam. My doc's have always said, "The meds don't always completely fix the problem, you have to get out and walk or do what ever you like doing.
Avatar m tn The highest available dose of Lunesta is 3mg. Recently, thought is that Lunesta, Ambien, and others in this class are very similar to benzodiazepine drugs. But I haven't read much about addiction or withdrawl from these meds. Seems like insomnia would be a given, but you could try melatonin or valerian root to combat that. Good luck either way.
2021910 tn?1339896686 so when I was in the Er last night they gave me Lunesta a sleeping pill to help me sleep I'm 31 w 5 d n my mom told me its not safe...is it..I mean babys fine n stuff but the hospital wouldn't give it to me if it wasent ok right ?
Avatar f tn As soon as the sotolol was out of my system despite the 50 mg of atenolol my heart was off to the races again, not a fib but tachycardia, pacs, pvcs. It was like it had just quit working for me. Has anyone had a similar experience or heard of meds just not working anymore? Mostly just curious....doc put me on bystolic and that works much better for me now.
1274896 tn?1271218419 It is only in hindsight that I realize how incredibly sick I was. Now, I am down to just 3 medications (Cymbalta, Lunesta, Norco) and am working to make it 2. Equally as important, I am happy. This time last year, I was miserable. Over the past 5 months, since emerging from a very serious depression, I have really found a sense of peace and happiness that I never knew was possible. I believe that is a big part of my physical healing as well.
Avatar n tn I have tried everything, including taking time off the medication to get it to work. However, nothing seems to be working. Recently, my doctor added Trazodone 100mg to help the Ambien work. Can anyone think of anything that would work like this?
Avatar n tn I used diphenhydramine (Benedryl) to sleep while on TX, starting with 50 mg and working up to 200 mg by 6 months of TX. Lunesta and Ambien are also excellent, but have more side effects and slight withdrawal issues.
Avatar f tn i just quit drinking and im having sleeping issues. any natural cures to help me through it? im exercising and its not helping.
Avatar n tn Nauty- I replied to your other post about PMDD- I hope it helps. I didn't know you were taking anti-anxiety meds as well for this- as PMDD is what drove me to become very recently addicted to Xanax (that and Chantix to quit smoking- since you smoke, let me issue the warning now- DO NOT USE Chantix if you have PMDD and are otherwise prone to irrational behavior because of it. I almost gave up my life this past Sunday- which is why I found this forum.
Avatar f tn I quit my retail job when I was around 25 weeks or so.
Avatar m tn but if u become addicted to it it is another problem to combat later on...xanax has to be tapered to quit as do all benzos....sleep is important to recovery so finding a way to sleep is important...without sleep, people can become weak which can lead to relapse....have u talked to ur dr bout the sleep issue? valium is a safer benzo/still addicting but not as strong as xanax....there r safer sleep meds..ambien and lunesta altho i have heard of people abusing those as well...
Avatar f tn I had a job that required a lot of manual labor and standing for hours. I'm 31 weeks and I just quit, but that's because I want to go to school after maternity leave and they wouldn't let me go back part time. Its really up to u and how u feel. Some people work up until labor.
2038076 tn?1330003424 So I am a bartender I am currently 23 weeks and 3 days. I am only working 4 more weeks because I still work 40 hours a week 10 hours a day standing. I wanted ample amount of time to get ready for the baby this being my first and me not knowing what to expect. When I told some women this they respond well I worked all the way till my due date. I am sure there job was not as strenuous. It kinda makes me feel bad... I am just tired...
