It's 3 weeks since I've been having a pretty serious depression, including anxiety & sleeplessness. I was put on a new antidepressant LexiPro (15 days now), xanax as needed, which I only need to "take the edge off" when Im shaky, and Lunesta to sleep. This is the 2nd time I've used Lunesta.

Do prescription drugs that are used for people like myself with chronic Insomnia cause depression? Since I have been taken Lunesta now for 8 months I have been depressed and have been prescribed Fluoxetine by my doctor. My friend Roberto has told me about a new product that is advertised on TV called Straight2sleep that he is trying. He said that it is all natural and gives him a great night sleep with no side effects. Do you know of this product and how effective is it?

Hey all, so I got tired of not sleeping more than 4hrs a night after being off of Tramadol 42days and my Dr gave me Lunesta. I asked if it was addicting and he said yes but you won't buid up a tolerance to it... I would like to hear this though from someone that has taken this medication and has had to come off it... How hard was it? What where the wds like???ect.ect any info on this would be appreciated...Thank You. Jeffi.

The highest available dose of Lunesta is 3mg. Recently, thought is that Lunesta, Ambien, and others in this class are very similar to benzodiazepine drugs. But I haven't read much about addiction or withdrawl from these meds. Seems like insomnia would be a given, but you could try melatonin or valerian root to combat that. Good luck either way.

so when I was in the Er last night they gave me Lunesta a sleeping pill to help me sleep I'm 31 w 5 d n my mom told me its not safe...is it..I mean babys fine n stuff but the hospital wouldn't give it to me if it wasent ok right ?

I then started ativan 1mg and was able to relax enough to get to sleep I took that for four months with good results then boom I could not fall alseep with it anymore I developed a tolerence for it . I now started on Lunesta but I still have trouble falling asleep with that I am going to call my Dr and get a bigger dose its like my brain does not want to fall asleep.

It can be a side effect of Ritalin (methylphenidate), Adderall (dextro/levo-amphetamine) and Lunesta (eszopiclone) and other prescription drugs or of cocaine or amphetamines. (Accordingly, it goes by the slang term "coke bugs".) Formication can also be a withdrawal symptom of weaning oneself off cocaine or amphetamine. It can also accompany alcohol withdrawal in alcoholics, along with delirium tremens.

This is only my opinion, so take as you may. I don't advocate for taking herbals along with prescription medications without first consulting your prescribing doctor. This could be very dangerous.

I was prescribed trazadone for sleep, but I did not like it. It made me feel drowsy, but couldn't sleep. I only took one 50mg pill, the prescription was to take 1 to 3 pills for sleep, so maybe if I took more it would have worked. I didn't like the way I felt so I never tried to take two. My doc told me it is a non addicting sleep aid that can boost my antidepressant. But, like I said, it was not good for me.

Even when I got new glasses with a lower prescription it barely helped. My eyesight is not too bad at long distances (with my glasses that is) and moderately bad at medium distances and horrible at short distance. My pupils have become quite large too. They almost look as bad as when you get your eyes dilated....in fact that's what they are. Sometimes my eyes are better than others but they are always blurry to some extent.

You can discuss with him about the option of a short course of hormone therapy or some Non-benzodiazepine prescription drugs, including Ambien and Lunesta or some antidepressants such as mirtazapine, which have a sedative effect, and are prescribed off label to treat insomnia. However, I must mention that these are just the options that have been mentioned, and all medications must be taken under proper medical supervision. All these would surely help restore your sleep cycle. Take care.

I have tried Lunesta and it worked for a year and I am now on Xanax which I seem to have to take more and more of to sleep. What can I do?

Lunesta seems to work okay for me. I've only taken it three or four times (I only take it as needed and not on a nightly basis.) I was prescribed Klonopin for anxiety and sleep and she said to not take it with Lunesta (this is after I asked *her*, she didn't mention it until then.) The Klonopin seems to work as well as the Lunesta, BTW. Kevin, I've read that Lunesta and Ambien are the same "types" of sleep aids but that is all I know. I hope Ryan can clear this up for us.

I take between 14-20 7,5 vicadene everyday for 10 yrs then take 9 mg of lunesta to sleep.

Initially i was taking Xanax and lunesta at the same time with mixed results. I want to get off the ambium /lunesta and occ. ativan. I need to know the best way to stop. My kids need me and I am incoherant and unble to work.... last night I didn't sleep after taking 3 ambium, valeran root and rx sleeptime,, finally, at about 6am I feel asleep after taking a lunesta (i know i shouldn't be mixing all this stuff) for about an hour. I should say that my doctor had me fill an order of 100 mg nuerontin last night. I took two in the even.

I dont know why it is making me nausea. My doc then perscribed lunesta 3mg. Has anyone tried lunesta and experienced better sleep with it? I am afraid of trying lunesta because i dont want to feel so nausea again. I didn't take any sleep med last night...didnt have a very good sleep but still i feel nausea. I need something to help me sleep without causing nausea and to help me sleep like a baby throughout the night pleaseee.

I have been on 80 mg. Of oxy for a year now n quit cold turkey Friday night. I had no idea what I was in for. The muscle spasms , migriane followed by vomiting. Can't sleep so tried. Final call some local abuse hotline. They were closed for mlk. Call my doc. On 4th day gave Xanax for a week and lunesta at night is this a bad idea? My wife.

If you have a valid prescription or refill take it to a pharmacy that's open 24/7. There should be one in your neighborhood or nearby. If not call your psychiatrist and have them call in a refill. Even though its a holiday they'd understand why you would page them in an emergency like this. And if none of that works go to a local outpatient walk in clinic and make sure to show them to old vial to prove that you are prescribed Ambiem.
