Common Questions and Answers about Lunesta overdose with alcohol

lunesta

Avatar f tn Hi, I've taken 6 mg lunesta, 8 mg ativan, zzzquil (benadryl with 10% alcohol). I also take Luvox and desipramine daily. Any chance this is too much? Really want to sleep but insomnia.
266660 tn?1189755834 Did you talk with your doctor about taking the two together, like a half hour before bed? I used to take my kpin before bed with some medication that makes you tired together. How does the lunesta work btw?
Avatar n tn If so, you are not helping yourself with taking these above medications with alcohol, if we are speaking about a glass of wine or a beer it's not the greatest choice but not all is lost. If you speaking about drinking frequently then you are not only not helping yourself but you are putting your mental and physical health in danger. Please don't do that to yourself, surely your aim for taking medication is to get well, not the exact opposite.
Avatar f tn d the rozarem along with the lunesta (this was my sub doctor - said it was perfectly safe and I had no bad effects from it). I actually liked the rozarem. I dont know if youve ever seen the "It brings your dreams back" commercials, but it REALLY DID bring my dreams back. I got such a kick out of that. I dreampt every night. (I no longer ever dream). I stopped getting it though as it was not covered under my insurance and couldnt afford it.
Avatar m tn t mix with alcohol or other drugs (besides weed), and he should remain alive. Might end up with a wicked addiction though!
Avatar m tn I hope this is a real wake up call for you cuz you are lucky you woke up. We have a fantastic alcohol forum here too. I would really recommend you checking that out along with some sort of aftercare. You say you are a heavy drinker already and you are young. There is a life out here that is fulfilling that doesnt require any type of substance abuse. Please get real honest with yourself, you got real lucky....this time.
Avatar n tn ) Formication can also be a withdrawal symptom of weaning oneself off cocaine or amphetamine. It can also accompany alcohol withdrawal in alcoholics, along with delirium tremens.

2021910 tn?1339896686 I'm on Ambien every night, otherwise, I would only get 2 hours of sleep a night. The benefits outweigh the risks. My doctor said there is a chance of depending on it to put you to sleep, but when my newborn comes, I'll wean off of it from having to be up with him all night. I even took Ambien with my first son, and he was born picture perfect. Get some rest!
Avatar m tn The highest available dose of Lunesta is 3mg. Recently, thought is that Lunesta, Ambien, and others in this class are very similar to benzodiazepine drugs. But I haven't read much about addiction or withdrawl from these meds. Seems like insomnia would be a given, but you could try melatonin or valerian root to combat that. Good luck either way.
Avatar f tn Pot is the only thing u cant overdose and die on out of what u listed(u can overdose on too many of any pill and alcohol can be deadly as well).U stated the family member was taking pain meds too.Yes all those meds and presciption pain killers also topped off with alcohol can cause death.
Avatar f tn It's 3 weeks since I've been having a pretty serious depression, including anxiety & sleeplessness. I was put on a new antidepressant LexiPro (15 days now), xanax as needed, which I only need to "take the edge off" when Im shaky, and Lunesta to sleep. This is the 2nd time I've used Lunesta.
1134424 tn?1308741291 Other then the B12 is there anything else i could take or do to help with the paresthesia, the pricking has been really bad to where it hurts
Avatar f tn As of last week (maybe two weeks ago), I had reduced my Klonopin intake from 3 MG/day to 1.5 MG/day.
Avatar m tn Oh and....If you wanna stay the OTC route, try Benadryl. Its the exact same thing as the active ingredient in Tylenol PM. Just without the Tylenol. So its a way better route to go. Unfortunately, like in my case, Benadryl isnt always enough to put one to sleep. So then you'd probably have to go the Rx route.
Avatar f tn My son died from an overdose on Benadryl and alcohol. My friend told me the alcohol shut his liver down. It this possible?
Avatar f tn The insult leads to permanent injury or severe complications when the dosage of Acetaminophen exceeds 7,000mg in a single dose or greater than 4,000mg/24 hours over an extended period of time (6,000mg spread over 24 hours is enough to cause harm in some patients but usually it takes this amount of Acetaminophen daily for days-weeks to cause harm in most patients).
603726 tn?1223919660 I am glad you are okay too. Just be careful with the alcohol. Dont trade addictions. That is a long road to go down also. Keep posting.
Avatar f tn t help but wonder though, is if theres some interaction or change in your antidepressant?? THOSE can wreak all sorts of havoc on so many levels-especially with drug or alcohol interaction....antidepressants are almost like puzzle peices....theres so many and it takes alot of trial and error sometimes to find the right fit for the right person.... I wish I could give you more solid advice, but I really think you should just talk to your doc on this one. Best of luck to you though!
Avatar f tn What can happen to a person who drinks rubbing alcohol, can a BAC detect it, can a urine test detect it. Is it deadly?
Avatar n tn I have random urine drug screens and random blood screens for alcohol. Am wanting to take Tylenol sinus congestion medicine. The ingredients are acetaminophen, guaifenesin, and phenylephrine. Will any of those ingredients caus a positive drug or alcohol test?
Avatar n tn You need to get some professional help. Overdosing is nothing to play with. You took 50 Valium and chased it with alcohol? That is the definition of trying to die. Were you taken to the ER? Did they pump your stomach? You may not be in danger from THAT overdose anymore, but who is to say that you won't do it again without some professional counseling? I'm very scared for you! VERY scared. You don't need to be alone!
990354 tn?1307132886 •Prescribe ULTRAM ER with caution for patients taking tranquilizers or antidepressant drugs and patients who use alcohol in excess. •Tell your patients not to exceed the recommended dose and to limit their intake of alcohol.
