lunesta narcotic

Well it originally referred to anything that would put you to sleep. Opiates can do that too. I know that today, they call lunesta "non-narcotic" and that seconal is considered a narcotic but certain old pharmacists. I think today it is used mainly to refer to C-II's.

I started taking Ambien & Prozac in Oct 2009. I started building a resistance so my doctor prescribed for me Restoril, that didn't work so she started me on Lunesta. After I started building a resistance to the Lunesta my doctor prescribed for me Ambien CR 12.5mg. It's now March 2010 and I need 4 or more Ambien CR to sleep. I can't sleep without it!!! I haven't taken the CR 12.5mg in 24hr and I have the common addiction symptoms.

Hey all, so I got tired of not sleeping more than 4hrs a night after being off of Tramadol 42days and my Dr gave me Lunesta. I asked if it was addicting and he said yes but you won't buid up a tolerance to it... I would like to hear this though from someone that has taken this medication and has had to come off it... How hard was it? What where the wds like???ect.ect any info on this would be appreciated...Thank You. Jeffi.

The highest available dose of Lunesta is 3mg. Recently, thought is that Lunesta, Ambien, and others in this class are very similar to benzodiazepine drugs. But I haven't read much about addiction or withdrawl from these meds. Seems like insomnia would be a given, but you could try melatonin or valerian root to combat that. Good luck either way.

so when I was in the Er last night they gave me Lunesta a sleeping pill to help me sleep I'm 31 w 5 d n my mom told me its not safe...is it..I mean babys fine n stuff but the hospital wouldn't give it to me if it wasent ok right ?

It's 3 weeks since I've been having a pretty serious depression, including anxiety & sleeplessness. I was put on a new antidepressant LexiPro (15 days now), xanax as needed, which I only need to "take the edge off" when Im shaky, and Lunesta to sleep. This is the 2nd time I've used Lunesta.

tried all the sleep meds, narcotic injection, 2 dramamine, 4 dramamine, 2-4 benedryl, seroquel every other remedy that is supposed to induce a sleep. No luck with it, due to my thyroid "problem" I was wondering if anyone had this same problem, took a sudafed, or some other type of med that keeps you alert, and had a reverse reaction to it. You know, where it put you out instead of bumping up the energy. getting desperate here, for sleep.

I have always abused hydros off and on, but my true addiction was to lunesta and ambien. Even though they tell you that it is non-narcotic, that is a pile of ****. It started out as one a night to sleep, then quickly escalated to 3-4 several times a day. If you aren't taking them as prescribed, 1 a night, then you are getting addicted to them. They had control of my life for 2 years and almost ended my marriage and my life.

If you don't feel comfortable with a drug choice, you have every right to ask for an alternative medication. Do you suffer from depression as well? Most doctors tend to avoid sleep meds, as they don't work long term, but can be effective in the short term, to get you back into a nortmal sleep pattern. There are other options out there. Do some research, and maybe find other alternatives.

Lunesta seems to work okay for me. I've only taken it three or four times (I only take it as needed and not on a nightly basis.) I was prescribed Klonopin for anxiety and sleep and she said to not take it with Lunesta (this is after I asked *her*, she didn't mention it until then.) The Klonopin seems to work as well as the Lunesta, BTW. Kevin, I've read that Lunesta and Ambien are the same "types" of sleep aids but that is all I know. I hope Ryan can clear this up for us.

t prescribe you a narcotic, there might be something else he could recommend, or maybe giving you something that is non-addictive.

I dont know why it is making me nausea. My doc then perscribed lunesta 3mg. Has anyone tried lunesta and experienced better sleep with it? I am afraid of trying lunesta because i dont want to feel so nausea again. I didn't take any sleep med last night...didnt have a very good sleep but still i feel nausea. I need something to help me sleep without causing nausea and to help me sleep like a baby throughout the night pleaseee.

I have been on 80 mg. Of oxy for a year now n quit cold turkey Friday night. I had no idea what I was in for. The muscle spasms , migriane followed by vomiting. Can't sleep so tried. Final call some local abuse hotline. They were closed for mlk. Call my doc. On 4th day gave Xanax for a week and lunesta at night is this a bad idea? My wife.

can i take lunesta with a natural sleep aid that has melatonin, valerian root, passionflower,chamomile, hops extract and 5-HTP?

i took 3 goodys pm and i have a 2mg lunesta....would it be a bad idea to take them together.

LUNESTA!!! Although i have not taken it since being prego ...if your DR ok'd ambien then Lunesta is ok as well. It works MUCH better...i hated Ambien.

t figure out why a forum that is offering support to people with addictions, advertises some of the very things that people are trying to get away from. Lunesta and Ambien were my drug of choice for 2 years and it has gotten so hard to come on this site and see that butterly and then the advertisement for it. Does anyone else find that strange, or is it just me?

i am on lunesta, i take a break every now and then, but the doc said it was ok.

When I kept forgetting to take the second dose, he suggested the 30mg X-RAY And it seemed to work extremely well, I was not sleeping at all, had lots of stress and went through a number of different antidepressants, they all pretty much made feel hung over and generally like crap all day. He suggested Lunesta and it seemed to work enough to get atleast 6hrs of sleep and felt well rested the next day.
