You might try taking a combination of Valerian and Melatonin when you stop the Lunesta. I was taking Lunesta in my early withdrawals and it did make me sleep, but that nasty taste was to much for me. I must say I haven't really slept really well since, but the herbs I mention do help somewhat, I take a hot bath before bed then I take them. From what I've heard Lunesta withdrawals are mainly mental, but you can get addicted to just about anything.

The only side effect I had was strange taste in my mouth when it started to kick in. But I would fall asleep and STAY asleep for 7 to 8 hours. When I wake up, Im wide awke and feel rested. If not, after the first 3 nights of not sleeping I would have been in the hospital because I felt like I was going crazy. Rozerem did not work as fast at nite and I did wake up and was sleepy in the morning. My brother in law takes it. He seems to like it. But hes also not an addict of any sort.

i have a chemically induced daze, little fatigue , muscle aches amd slight insomnia and melatonin doesnt seem to kick in , so i tale a little Ativan and it helps a little.

I started taking Vicodin 2+ years ago for a back problem, had surgury 2 months ago.....I am so pleased to say I am now 9 days clean..the first 8 were absolutly miserable but there seemd to be a light at the end of this tunnel. I only took 6 7.5's per day, i would occasionaly sneak in an extra 1 or 2 but for the most part stayed at 6.. I thank all of you who take the time to reply as i can tell you it made a hugh difference to me. The one issue I struggled with and still am is sleep.

A friend gave me lunesta once i started hallucinating from insomnia. I never to it regularly. I would wait until I started feeling wacky from lack of sleep, then when I couldn't handle it, I would take one. It helped me sleep about 6hrs, but that was a lot after sleeping 7 hrs a weeks. My sleep is still messed up after 200 and something days, but I get two blocks of 3-4 hrs now, and am able to function.

It's 3 weeks since I've been having a pretty serious depression, including anxiety & sleeplessness. I was put on a new antidepressant LexiPro (15 days now), xanax as needed, which I only need to "take the edge off" when Im shaky, and Lunesta to sleep. This is the 2nd time I've used Lunesta.

The highest available dose of Lunesta is 3mg. Recently, thought is that Lunesta, Ambien, and others in this class are very similar to benzodiazepine drugs. But I haven't read much about addiction or withdrawl from these meds. Seems like insomnia would be a given, but you could try melatonin or valerian root to combat that. Good luck either way.

so when I was in the Er last night they gave me Lunesta a sleeping pill to help me sleep I'm 31 w 5 d n my mom told me its not safe...is it..I mean babys fine n stuff but the hospital wouldn't give it to me if it wasent ok right ?

How much Ativan are you taking? Buspar takes a while to kick in, but you may feel some initial affects, if was a couple of weeks before I felt anything. I would suggest looking up both drugs so you know the full monographs on both. If you find it's severe, then I would suggest calling your doctor. Is it your family doctor or a pdoc? Lunesta seems to work okay for me. I've only taken it three or four times (I only take it as needed and not on a nightly basis.) I was prescribed Klonopin for anxiety and sleep and she said to not take it with Lunesta (this is after I asked *her*, she didn't mention it until then.) The Klonopin seems to work as well as the Lunesta, BTW. Kevin, I've read that Lunesta and Ambien are the same "types" of sleep aids but that is all I know. I hope Ryan can clear this up for us.

For the last fev days, ever since we are using humidifier I have a metallic taste in my mouth; the strongest is always in the morning; my husband just turn on house humidifier and I wonder if this is just coincident, or it does have something to do with the humidifier... furnice, and humidifier are working more during the night, that would explain, but is so strange... anybody has any idea?

I actually found that when I tried Lunesta (or had to switch to it from my normal Ambien because I was in the hospital and they only use Lunesta there) - that I had the same thing happen to me. As soon as I was able to go back to my normal Ambien, it stopped. I wonder if it's a side effect of the Lunesta... but maybe not since you said taking the Lunesta actually helped the situation for you.

I dont know why it is making me nausea. My doc then perscribed lunesta 3mg. Has anyone tried lunesta and experienced better sleep with it? I am afraid of trying lunesta because i dont want to feel so nausea again. I didn't take any sleep med last night...didnt have a very good sleep but still i feel nausea. I need something to help me sleep without causing nausea and to help me sleep like a baby throughout the night pleaseee.

I have been on 80 mg. Of oxy for a year now n quit cold turkey Friday night. I had no idea what I was in for. The muscle spasms , migriane followed by vomiting. Can't sleep so tried. Final call some local abuse hotline. They were closed for mlk. Call my doc. On 4th day gave Xanax for a week and lunesta at night is this a bad idea? My wife.

i know how you feel to be taking all these pills, unfortunatley one pill may not really tell you if you need it or not, it more than likely is going to take a few weeks to kick in just like the zoloft did (unless it worked immediately for you). talk to your doc about your concern for being on so many meds, hopefully he/she will understand.

As of last week (maybe two weeks ago), I had reduced my Klonopin intake from 3 MG/day to 1.5 MG/day.

Hi there. I think it is possible that the ambien and the lunesta may be the cause of your false positive for benzos. Although fairly controversial, i have read of people who have failed pre employment drug screens even though they consumed no narcotics. Ambien or lunesta was the common denominator in many of these stories. Whilst both are not true benzos but a 'z 'class hypnotic,sedative,anxiolytic,they have similar properties to benzos and tickle the same receptor sites.

I'm having a slightly different problem. I'm exhausted by bedtime but when I sleep, I'm up after 4-5 hours. After that I just toss and turn in the bed all night. Then I end up having to take a 2-3 hour nap during the day. But even when I skip the nap, I still don't sleep well. I thought it was just because I worked 3rd shift for years but I don't know. I don't have any helpful suggestions though. Sorry.

I was allowed to take benedryl (sominex) up to 200 mg per night throughout TX. Now I am post TX and the insomnia has not yet left, so they prescribed Ambien and Lunesta for me (i grew allergic to something in the benedryl). They are all harmless to liver but the ambien & lunesta do cause dependence so I alternate them: Ambien for a couple nights, then lunesta (which does not work as well for me) for one night.

can i take lunesta with a natural sleep aid that has melatonin, valerian root, passionflower,chamomile, hops extract and 5-HTP?
