Lunesta keeps me up

Common Questions and Answers about Lunesta keeps me up

lunesta

Avatar f tn It's 3 weeks since I've been having a pretty serious depression, including anxiety & sleeplessness. I was put on a new antidepressant LexiPro (15 days now), xanax as needed, which I only need to "take the edge off" when Im shaky, and Lunesta to sleep. This is the 2nd time I've used Lunesta.
Avatar f tn Hey all, so I got tired of not sleeping more than 4hrs a night after being off of Tramadol 42days and my Dr gave me Lunesta. I asked if it was addicting and he said yes but you won't buid up a tolerance to it... I would like to hear this though from someone that has taken this medication and has had to come off it... How hard was it? What where the wds like???ect.ect any info on this would be appreciated...Thank You. Jeffi.
968560 tn?1307451498 I had insomnia during TX and was first given a RX for Ambian - it helped & then later Lunesta but I couldn't take it - gave me this awful "metal taste" that I couldn't handle. My Dr. had told me to take Benadryl (over the counter capsules) to help with my rash (along with Hydrocortizone 1% cream) & it will make you sleepy. It did help some. I had to take naps in the day & that helped as long as I didn't sleep too long.

736314 tn?1276884623 I am taking lunesta and guess what. I am wide awake. It usually works for me but not tonight i guess.
Avatar m tn The highest available dose of Lunesta is 3mg. Recently, thought is that Lunesta, Ambien, and others in this class are very similar to benzodiazepine drugs. But I haven't read much about addiction or withdrawl from these meds. Seems like insomnia would be a given, but you could try melatonin or valerian root to combat that. Good luck either way.
1741355 tn?1311457956 Well it is day 6 no Methadone and no sleep I am sooooo tired can anyone tell me how much longer or what will help me rest?Thought about going to ER maybe lunesta or something has anyone tried these types of meds with any sucess??
266660 tn?1189755834 Lunesta seems to work okay for me. I've only taken it three or four times (I only take it as needed and not on a nightly basis.) I was prescribed Klonopin for anxiety and sleep and she said to not take it with Lunesta (this is after I asked *her*, she didn't mention it until then.) The Klonopin seems to work as well as the Lunesta, BTW. Kevin, I've read that Lunesta and Ambien are the same "types" of sleep aids but that is all I know. I hope Ryan can clear this up for us.
Avatar f tn I am currently taking the following for FMS: Celexa (depression), Ultram (pain) Vicodin (bad pain), Lunesta (to stay asleep), and now Provigil (to stay awake in the day). I have say, these all are helping, but maybe about 50%. The pain never goes away, only flucuates to bad or worse. The Lunesta is great. I tried Ambien & Sonata, but couldn't handle the side effects. Lunesta keeps me asleep but doesn't make me feel hung-over in the morning.
1355301 tn?1287967641 Last year, I was having trouble with insomnia again and went back on the 5mg dosage. Recently, the 5mg did nothing for me so I started taking 10mg. I always wake up 8 hours later completely wide awake. When I go to sleep at night, I'm dead to the world and haven't done any sleep walking or anything this time around. The only adverse side effect I've noticed is if I don't go to bed right away, I hallucinate. Also, do you take any SSRI?
Avatar n tn I dont know why it is making me nausea. My doc then perscribed lunesta 3mg. Has anyone tried lunesta and experienced better sleep with it? I am afraid of trying lunesta because i dont want to feel so nausea again. I didn't take any sleep med last night...didnt have a very good sleep but still i feel nausea. I need something to help me sleep without causing nausea and to help me sleep like a baby throughout the night pleaseee.
Avatar m tn Keeps happening every time I get close to falling asleep. Kept me up most the past two nights. I feel the spasm in torso, head/neck/, left hand, left arm, and once on right arm. Only one place is effected each time. Saw GP. CT brain scan and blood work normal. No thyroid issue. Referring me to neuro for further examination, including MRI These symptomsare all starting to sound like MS based on a lot of stuff on the Internet.
458072 tn?1291415186 My GP prescribed me Lunesta last week. It works, but it gives no appetite. I try taking it every 3rd or 4th night. I am serious about the no appetite though, the first time i took i literally did not have an appetitie for two days. Not healthy in my situation. I have tried ambien, and all others, but this is the only that has worked so far. Of course everyone's side effects are different.
1102799 tn?1269237714 I'm having a slightly different problem. I'm exhausted by bedtime but when I sleep, I'm up after 4-5 hours. After that I just toss and turn in the bed all night. Then I end up having to take a 2-3 hour nap during the day. But even when I skip the nap, I still don't sleep well. I thought it was just because I worked 3rd shift for years but I don't know. I don't have any helpful suggestions though. Sorry.
Avatar n tn I was taking Lunesta 3mg prior to the Lexapro for 1 1/2 years. With the Lexapro, the Lunesta was ineffective. The MD put me on 15mg of Remeron with the Lunesta and this really helped. In an attempt to ward off tolerance to Lunesta, I now alternate ( 2 weeks at a time) between Lunesta 3mg and zolpiedem ( Ambien) Since the zolpiedem has a much shorter 1/2 life than the Lunesta, I take 5mg about 11:30 and another 5mg at 3:00 or whenever I awake.
Avatar n tn Now I am post TX and the insomnia has not yet left, so they prescribed Ambien and Lunesta for me (i grew allergic to something in the benedryl). They are all harmless to liver but the ambien & lunesta do cause dependence so I alternate them: Ambien for a couple nights, then lunesta (which does not work as well for me) for one night. The 'dependence' is not a big deal; just means you'll have a several very sleepless nights after you quit them.
572651 tn?1530999357 The mfg of Lunesta will send you a discount card that will pay your copay on insurance, up to $50 per month ($600 per year) if you use their sleep medicine. I figure this is information worth sharing with you ..... http://www.lunesta.com/dreamkit/lunesta-savings.html?
Avatar f tn It's been recommended to me that I begin to *think* about stopping my Lunesta. Ive been on Lunesta for YEARS (since probably 2006). I have NEVER abused the Lunesta. I've never taken it at inapproriate times. I've never doubled my dose. Nothing like that ever. I take it and go to sleep. There are PLENTY of nights I dont take it - especially on the weekend when I am not trying to force myself to go to sleep at a certain time.
Avatar m tn Hi weaver! I just got prescribed Lunesta! I have taken it for a few days now. For me, it's not really powerful! I am getting about 6 straight hours of sleep before waking up! That is much better than I was getting! My doctor offered me Ambien, but I've heard horror stories of people doing crazy things like driving while on it! Also, I don't seem to have any dreams, at least not that I can remember!
9880688 tn?1414115647 This morning I got woke up by my husband....he thought it was evening...he even put a cornish hen in the oven to cook. So as much as I would like to stay in bed and feel miserable I'm going to take tylenol for fever, immodium ad for what else ails me, something for my poor tummy and try to get some doctors on the phone to try and figure out why he's getting confused again. I suspect, but only suspect, that it might be his sleeping pill.
Avatar f tn One of these things is causing me physical anxiety. I take Xanax maybe 2x a week, Lunesta 2x a week, and started Birth Control a couple weeks ago (Ortho Cyclean).
Avatar m tn I take it in the morning, even so sleeping is very difficult, if I do fall asleep I wake up every hour or so. I have heard this is common with Zoloft. My doctor told me to take Xanax to sleep, also tried Trazodone, Melatonin, and many over the counter - the only thing that works is the Xanax however I won't take this every night. I have also heard from many sources that the sleeplessness gets better over time, that it can take a couple of months.
Avatar n tn My doctor gave me Lunesta to sleep. I also tried Rozerem. Lunesta worked GREAT!!!!! The only side effect I had was strange taste in my mouth when it started to kick in. But I would fall asleep and STAY asleep for 7 to 8 hours. When I wake up, Im wide awke and feel rested. If not, after the first 3 nights of not sleeping I would have been in the hospital because I felt like I was going crazy. Rozerem did not work as fast at nite and I did wake up and was sleepy in the morning.
Avatar f tn I have been off oxy now into day five they gavevme xanax for day n lunesta at night. The lunesta gave me 4 hrs. Of sleep. Should I be on this trying to get a year of oxy at 80 mg.
