And I am not even sure if you could call coke use recreational - for the people that really like it (your BF is one) there is no recreational use a time or two a month or whatever. Its a slow ride downhill to all of the negatives you have heard about it. The only medication that may work are the heavy duty drugs like benzos, and barbituates of some short.The drug Halcion is effective and for that week or so sleep is impossible,without the use of these strong drugs.As for getting addicted,it wont happen if taken for 7 to 10 days.I understand not being able to sleep is torture.
My doctor gave me Lunesta to sleep. I also tried Rozerem. Lunesta worked GREAT!!!!! The only side effect I had was strange taste in my mouth when it started to kick in. But I would fall asleep and STAY asleep for 7 to 8 hours. When I wake up, Im wide awke and feel rested. If not, after the first 3 nights of not sleeping I would have been in the hospital because I felt like I was going crazy. Rozerem did not work as fast at nite and I did wake up and was sleepy in the morning.
Otherwise all drugs are krap to me, recreational use? What is that????????? I often thought I could use recreationally, trust me I was wrong. When in doubt, go without!!
I've taken ambien and lunesta. All sorts of problems with ambien including abuse. None of those issues with lunesta. It's still a hypnotic and anyone taking them should be educated about the drug and cautious about its use.

It's 3 weeks since I've been having a pretty serious depression, including anxiety & sleeplessness. I was put on a new antidepressant LexiPro (15 days now), xanax as needed, which I only need to "take the edge off" when Im shaky, and Lunesta to sleep. This is the 2nd time I've used Lunesta.
But after a bed svt episode in december, i have been needing something stronger for my sleep anxiety. My doc also recommended me Lunesta but im too scared to try it, its 3mg. I think that might be a too high of a dose. Does anyone know what can help me sleep without anxiety? Has anyone else tried Lunesta for sleep anxiety. I have tried not sleeping with any med but end up staying up all night panicing even though i am super tired. Please help me get back to sleep so i can focus more on my life.
I would caution anyone who is prescribed medication for any use but for use as a sleep aide I would really be cautious. Most sleep problems are a symptom of something else out of balance. Fix whatever is out of balance and fix your sleep. This applies to many ailments that doctors offhandedly prescribe drugs...
Just educate yourself and empower yourself to care of your own body, which can be affected by past issues that need healing.
To joke about some one considering taking cocaine for recreational use who has had three bypass surgeries and is taking blood thinners is just a little reckless.

I dont know why it is making me nausea. My doc then perscribed lunesta 3mg. Has anyone tried lunesta and experienced better sleep with it? I am afraid of trying lunesta because i dont want to feel so nausea again. I didn't take any sleep med last night...didnt have a very good sleep but still i feel nausea. I need something to help me sleep without causing nausea and to help me sleep like a baby throughout the night pleaseee.

NOT FOR LONG...YOU MAY START OUT ONLY ON WEEKEND BUT IT WILL escalate. i used coke for 5 years heavily and i started out only on the weekends. before long it was everyday all day and every night all night. it is a horrible drug the eventually completely robs you of yourself.
I was taking Lunesta 3mg prior to the Lexapro for 1 1/2 years. With the Lexapro, the Lunesta was ineffective. The MD put me on 15mg of Remeron with the Lunesta and this really helped.
In an attempt to ward off tolerance to Lunesta, I now alternate ( 2 weeks at a time) between Lunesta 3mg and zolpiedem ( Ambien) Since the zolpiedem has a much shorter 1/2 life than the Lunesta, I take 5mg about 11:30 and another 5mg at 3:00 or whenever I awake.
I am, or should I say was, a recreational drug user. In the last two months I smoked pot regularly and took approx. 3 vicodin 10mg and 1 percocet 10mg to help with back pain from a car accident. I don't regularly use pain meds and am far from addicted, I am just so worried that those couple pills hurt my little one. :( help!
