Lunesta for heart patients

Common Questions and Answers about Lunesta for heart patients

lunesta

Avatar f tn It's 3 weeks since I've been having a pretty serious depression, including anxiety & sleeplessness. I was put on a new antidepressant LexiPro (15 days now), xanax as needed, which I only need to "take the edge off" when Im shaky, and Lunesta to sleep. This is the 2nd time I've used Lunesta.
Avatar f tn I tried the Rozerem and Melatonin and they did nothing for me. I have not however tried the Lunesta. I will ask my doctor about that one. I have even been put on Symbytax (sp) in order to try and help me gain weight. I gained 4lbs, but that was it. I looked that one up and it is for severe bipolar disorder. I am not even diagnosed with depression. Why are doctors so quick into anti-depressants for other symptoms? I guess I will just have to live with the insomnia. Thanks for your input...
Avatar n tn Which sleep aid is less addicting and less toxic, ambien or lunesta. I have heard ambien is hard on your liver.
Avatar m tn I am on day 20 clean from pain pills i have been on Lunesta 3mg sleeping pill for 2 years will i have withdrawlls if i stop with such a low 3 mg every 24 hours
Avatar f tn To use very short term, possibly even skipping nights is ok. How many did he give you and for how long? Lunesta has some nasty side effects, driving and eating while sleeping, confusion. Did you try OTC sleep aids? Melatonin, valerian root, altering, sleep by nature made?

Avatar n tn I dont know why it is making me nausea. My doc then perscribed lunesta 3mg. Has anyone tried lunesta and experienced better sleep with it? I am afraid of trying lunesta because i dont want to feel so nausea again. I didn't take any sleep med last night...didnt have a very good sleep but still i feel nausea. I need something to help me sleep without causing nausea and to help me sleep like a baby throughout the night pleaseee.
Avatar f tn Thus, the more I hear, the more I know, and the more I know, the less money I will be throwing away regarding having Rozerum filled for naught, in addition to anteing up big bucks to pay for it. Self-pay patients, a monthly (#30) day supply costs $135.00. Three years ago, Ambien cost $3.00 per pill. A very well know insurance company would cover Ambien, but only for a 15-day supply.
Avatar n tn Most docs have no problem prescribing sleeping meds for hep patients - they know how difficult it can be.
Avatar m tn Thats why my doctor suggested Tylenol PM because of the benedryl.
Avatar m tn Apart from mention about moderate consumption of alcohol as stimulant for the heart,I am yet to find someone who is practising it with success. As for me I am an Anterior wall MI patient since last October.Following the heart attack I am also on medications. My EF was just 26% at the time of discharge from the hospital. It is time someone here enlightening us on the notion of alcohol and its benefit on heart disease.
Avatar m tn that may be taken w/SOC and Vic? Sleep has been elusive for weeks and PCP giving me samples of Lunesta (Ambien causes heart palps and mild hallucinations.) I am on AD's, but begin SOC this evening and I am having anxiety (yes, I realize this is normal also). TIA.
327369 tn?1326119908 I sleep so great some nights and others it is a struggle.....I am either wired, heart is palpitating, etc. and then I get anxious because I cannot sleep and know that I will be tired at work the next day. I have some xanex that helps sometimes and I have tried melatonin but nothing is great at helping me. I do not like lunesta or ambien because of side effects. Oh well....just wondering about others out there and how you handle it.
266660 tn?1189755834 Lunesta seems to work okay for me. I've only taken it three or four times (I only take it as needed and not on a nightly basis.) I was prescribed Klonopin for anxiety and sleep and she said to not take it with Lunesta (this is after I asked *her*, she didn't mention it until then.) The Klonopin seems to work as well as the Lunesta, BTW. Kevin, I've read that Lunesta and Ambien are the same "types" of sleep aids but that is all I know. I hope Ryan can clear this up for us.
Avatar n tn I then started ativan 1mg and was able to relax enough to get to sleep I took that for four months with good results then boom I could not fall alseep with it anymore I developed a tolerence for it . I now started on Lunesta but I still have trouble falling asleep with that I am going to call my Dr and get a bigger dose its like my brain does not want to fall asleep.
Avatar m tn I'm a male, 31. I've been on 175mg trazadone and lunesta (anywhere from 1.5mg (half pill), 3mg (full pill), or 4.5mg - one and half pills). I usually do 175mg trazadone plus half pill lunesta for sleep almost every night. i've been on the sleep meds for about 2-3 months. Sometimes, i take just lunesta since I have retrograde ejaculation due to trazadone. I take these medications for sleep insommnia. They work. I also take propecia for hair loss (not sure that it's related).
Avatar f tn Spontaneous reporting system data suggest that the risk of dependence and its severity appear to be greater in patients treated with doses greater than 4 mg/day and for long periods (more than 12 weeks). However, in a controlled postmarketing discontinuation study of panic disorder patients, the duration of treatment (3 months compared to 6 months) had no effect on the ability of patients to taper to zero dose.
1355301 tn?1287967641 I'm starting to think it is becoming a side effect of the lunesta. I am going to try to go a night without it and see what happens. I am afraid of the ambien because I am at home alone at night, (my husband works 3rd shift) and if I tried to cook or drive, there would be no one there to stop me.
