Lunesta effexor

Common Questions and Answers about Lunesta effexor

lunesta

I've been taking Effexor for about 2 years and am weaning off the medication right now. Actually I should just say I am stoping the medication cold turkey, since I am just not taking any pills at all each day. Yes, there are side effects. Are the side effects so severe that a person cannot tolerate them? Absolutely not. You need to tough it out, get this drug out of your system, and start exercising 5 times a week, especially cardiovascular exercise.
I have been on Effexor for about 2-3 years. My doctor suggested that it may be time to "get off of it", so here I am....dizzy, crying over everything/anything, irritable, etc. I've followed my doctor's suggestions about tapering off....I am now on 37.5 every other day. My question is...does anyone else suffer from upset stomach when getting off this drug? My digestive system seems to be freaking out!
Hello, Taking clonazepam and Lunesta (eszopiclone) is likely to cause depressant effect on the central nevous system and respiration. Hence taking these two medications together is best avoided. Lifestyle measures to control stress would be the best bet. However, if a single medication is not effective, discuss your symptoms with your consulting doctor he may change the dose or the medication. Warm regards.
Can anyone give me an idea of how long it usually takes for your metabolism to recalibrate after stopping Effexor and/or Lexapro? I've gained significant weight while on these drugs (despite an intense exercise program and careful diet). My nutritionist and MD told me that the drugs likely altered my metabolism, but no one can tell me how long it will take to correct that. Most frustrating, I've noticed that since I stopped taking both, my weight gain has accelerated.
Does anyone in the world not hate effexor xr who has had to stop, or discontinue usage. I don't care if you even "taper" off, the withdrawl symptons are unmatched, just google effexor withdrawal, there is more info there then one can read in months. I am the only person who has gone from 300mg/day of effexor xr, to NOTHING. Everything that was described by other posters is accurate and im sure it depends on the dose and frequency and individual to see how bad the symptons will be.
i experienced a bitter taste while taking lunesta for sleeping. i don't remember this w/ effexor (i was on it months ago), but it sounds like the meds are probably causing it. also, if it's dissolving before you swallow it, that will leave a funky taste...but i think effexor comes in capsules...so they aren't chalky.
I got diagnosed with depression and am currently taking Effixor XR. I also take Lunesta to help me fall asleep at night as I also have problems in that area. I have tried energy drinks in the morning which do absolutely nothing. Even on the weekends when I sleep in I am still tired. I usually rush through my work so I can get some sleep before the next class which is starting to effect my grades. It is driving me crazy and I don't understand why it's happening.
I had to stop the zoloft because it made me sick so he switched me to lexapro and that made me sick too.I love the lunesta except it gives me a metallic taste. It does make me sleep all night w/o the hangover.
Wellbutrin, Effexor, Cymbalta, Prozac What other drugs would be a possibility to help me get to sleep? My psychologist told me to ask my GP about Lunesta, and a family friend said to ask about Secobarbital. But if I am not mistaken, barbiturates aren't used anymore and Lunesta is in the same class as ambien so wouldn't lunesta cause me to do crazy things I don't remember? Please help me find a sleeping medicine that will give me some relief.
I am also on xanax, seroquel, and he just prescribed Lunesta because I haven't been sleeping and have had no luck with ambien.
I’m wondering if I would be better off to just stay with the lunesta and not get into more problems with effexor?
Panic Attack control - Alprazolam Clonazepam Diazepam - Most effective of the four listed Lorazepam Sleeping Pills - Lunesta - Worked well but diminished quickly Ambien - Sleep walking Trazadone - Akathisia, also affected anxiety Benadryl - Very effective (when I actually take them) Pain Killers (Analgesic, "self medicating") - Hydrocodone Oxycodone Anti-depressants - Lexapro - Currently taking Wellbutrin XL - Currently taking Nortriptyline Celexa Prozac Paxil - Complete nightm
You should try Ambian or Lunesta. they are the best out right now. As far as the weight ask for Effexor its for depression but has helped me lose weight.
My doctor put me exeffor and lunesta a little over a year ago. She recently swiched me to Ambian CR because the lunesta was not working.I also take wellbutrin in the morning. I would go back to see her but I no insurance at this time. The problem is..I still can't sleep. I took the effexor and Ambian CR around 1:30am. Now its almost 4am.and I wide wake. By the time I fall asleep I'm down for most of the day. I'm not sure what to do anymore.
Can I take Tramodol with Effexor XR, Clonazepam, Trazadone, Lunesta, Gabapentin, Hydroxyzine. I am on all these medications for clinical depression and panic/anxiety disorder. But now I was recommended to take Tramodol for pain. Will there be a bad interaction with the drugs I just named? I would like to know each drug I have listed seperately and it's interaction with tramodol. Example....Can I take Effexor XR with Tramodol? Can I take Clonazepam with Tramodol?? Etc. ect.
You might ask your psychiatrist about reducing the medications slowly to see what happens, and start all over with the smallest dose...it sounds like a combination of medication and depression. Are you in talk therapy as well...you should be...
i have been on xanax 1 mg 3 times a day since feb 2006 i dont think i need them i want off them and i want off all the meds cause all i do is sleep and that makes me depressed i want my life back i tried stopping the effexor cold turkey back in sept and all symtons came back like the crying the depression then the fainting spells i am at this point very depressed because i cant do much i cry alot i have no energy i go nowhere alls i do is sleep the dr didnt say anything about weening me just yet
5 prn and Lunesta 3mg to help me sleep (but that is mainly b/c I work 3rd shift and have problems sleeping before all this started. Well, a few months later I went back and said I didn't feel like it was doing anything. So, he gave me some samples of 60mg and some more 30mg and told me to try the higher dose. So, I know I should have done this but some weeks I would use the 60mg and some weeks the 30mg. I thought it was weird that he told me to do that, but I went ahead and did it.
But it is 2 months later and I'm suffering from a non stop trobbing in my head, terrible insomnia (even with Lunesta) but also terrible memory and concentration problems and even some balance issues. Not to mention I feel very weak. I've already found out that I was not supposed to have ever been on Ativan for more than 2 -4 weeks. Have I suffered brain damage somehow? Will it heal with time? Please help, I'm scared. What should I do?
My favorite is lexapro and effexor, but, the effexor produces the speedy effect you were talking about. I saw that he put you on paxil and forgot to call it in. I was on paxil and I hated it, I know that many people swear by it, but, it did not work for me, it made me more depressed.. Anyway, I am glad to hear that you went, Let me know how the Lunesta works, I been wanting to try it..
Levoxyl 90 days supply - mail in, Insurance $4.00, no co-payment.
I recently started Effexor XR for anti-depression and Lunesta to help with my new nighttime sleeping problems. I am sweating a LOT more than ever and I am hot all the time. I am exhausted during the day. My mother is on Synthroid. I am NOT losing weight despite an increse in exercise. I also have night sweats and hair loss. What do you think? Should I just "wait and see" like my endo thinks is ok?
Medications •SSRI Antidepressants (Effexor, Prozac, Cymbalta, Zoloft, Lexapro, Paxil) •Tricyclic Antidepressants •Benzodiazepines (Xanax, Ativan, Valium, Klonipin) •GABA (Lyrica, Gabapentin, Neurontin) •Sleeping Aids (Ambien, Sonata, Lunesta) •Steroids (HC/Cortef, Prednisone, Prednisolone, Methylprednisolone) •Stimulants (Adderall, Provigil) •Most arthritis medications •Asthma medications/Steroid Nasal Sprays •Most BP medications •Alpha and Beta Blockers •Progesterone unless it is perfectly tit
You have nothing to loose. Hopefully you can ride it out until the Effexor kicks in. I found that Effexor kicked in faster than other antidepressants I took. One week versus a month or more with Zoloft. Hope this has been of help. I'll be praying for you...
Thanks in advance for any help.... I am 26 years old. For the past 7 years I have struggled with anxiety, depression, insomnia, irratibility, manicness, mood swings, inconsistency, etc. etc. etc. Life has been one hell of a roller coaster, but in this time I have managed to graduate college and an MBA, secure and maintain a well-paying and fulfilling business career and marry the love of my life (and hang on to her thus far).
i take adderall every day for my adhd, atavan for my anxiety when ever it pops up, a mix of sleeping pills ( trazadone, ambien and lunesta) because my body get ammune if i take the same one three nights in a row. Not to mention a high dose ibprophen and tylenol for my tention head aches and unbearable lower back pain. I feel like a freakin hypocondriact!!!!
The doomed feeling sounds more like an anxiety attack. Makes me wonder if the effexor is wearing off and thats causing the feeling? My first thought in reading your post was - try to find a new job. Realize thats probably impossible, but it sure sounds like it is part of the problem. If so, finding a way to deal with work would certainly help! Second thought, (while looking up side effects for everything) was that I sure hope you are seeing the same doctor for all your meds.
My friend is currently taking Effexor XR 150 mg BID, Zoloft 100 mg QAM, Synthroid 0.15 mg QAM, Cogentin 0.15 mg QAM, Seroquel 100 mg BID, Depakote BR 2,000 mg QHS and Klonopin 1 mg BID. 1. Can this cause serotonin syndrome? 2. Could you be specific with the symptoms? 3. Are these fatal?
