And weight loss lg number then weight gain also high protein in blood count I did get my doc to listen and he has me on levothyroxine 0.
Avatar n tn Which sleep aid is less addicting and less toxic, ambien or lunesta. I have heard ambien is hard on your liver.
Avatar m tn My endo saw the last TSH result and decreased my dosage. After one week on decreased dosage symptoms got worse and I went back to what I was on. I decided to see another doctor and she agreed to keep me on the 90/60 but nothing else based on the TSH. I'm running out of options in my town. Could someone please help. Is there anyone else out there who had similar labs and had doctors who actually increased dosage. Thank you.
Avatar m tn My psychologist told me to ask my GP about Lunesta, and a family friend said to ask about Secobarbital. But if I am not mistaken, barbiturates aren't used anymore and Lunesta is in the same class as ambien so wouldn't lunesta cause me to do crazy things I don't remember? Please help me find a sleeping medicine that will give me some relief.
Avatar f tn Changed antidepressants 3 weeks ago from Lexapro to Bupropion Xl 150... Bad insomnia hit this week... up for over 36 hours. They gave me Lunesta 3mg. I have taken 2 nights in a row and sleep well. Then today Pins & needles in arms, legs, feet, and head. should I be looking at thyroid again and not the new meds?
Avatar f tn Hey all, so I got tired of not sleeping more than 4hrs a night after being off of Tramadol 42days and my Dr gave me Lunesta. I asked if it was addicting and he said yes but you won't buid up a tolerance to it... I would like to hear this though from someone that has taken this medication and has had to come off it... How hard was it? What where the wds like???ect.ect any info on this would be appreciated...Thank You. Jeffi.
Avatar m tn The highest available dose of Lunesta is 3mg. Recently, thought is that Lunesta, Ambien, and others in this class are very similar to benzodiazepine drugs. But I haven't read much about addiction or withdrawl from these meds. Seems like insomnia would be a given, but you could try melatonin or valerian root to combat that. Good luck either way.

Avatar n tn 704, which is slightly above normal limits according to the nurse. She told me my physician was going to keep my dosage the same, which is 100mcg, even though my physician noted at my exam that my thyroid gland was enlarged and I am having classic hypothyroidism symptoms. Tired, hair is really thinning and very dry and brittle, dry skin, cold all the time, forgetfulness, and weight gain even though I exercise and watch my diet every day.
757137 tn?1347196453 you might just try eating one banana a day. That might help both your potassium levels and your hypoglycemia, as you say both are mild problems. And you might try supporting your adrenals with adaptogens such as eleuthero and ashwaganda. For exact potassium levels, that's hard, because potassium is a nutrient one has to be careful about -- you don't want too much, don't want too little. You might look into an electrolyte supplement -- and I don't mean Gator Aid!
Avatar f tn I've been suffering from insomnia for a few years now. Been prescribed almost every sleep aid available; the OTC's are of no benefit, and the sleep aids I have been prescribed have not been beneficial either because my tolerance to controlled substances is so high due to medicinal treatment for other chronic illnesses. Can anyone suggestion a sleep aid that has helped them achieve more than 1-1/2-2 hours of continuous sleep?
1201433 tn?1328997637 Hi, I was on Lunesta for the entire tx and it worked great. Ambien comes in two forms one is extended ambien, do you know which one you are on? You should talk to your Dr about which one you are on.I took regular ambien long before tx and it didn't work too well for me either. Best of luck....
266660 tn?1189755834 Lunesta seems to work okay for me. I've only taken it three or four times (I only take it as needed and not on a nightly basis.) I was prescribed Klonopin for anxiety and sleep and she said to not take it with Lunesta (this is after I asked *her*, she didn't mention it until then.) The Klonopin seems to work as well as the Lunesta, BTW. Kevin, I've read that Lunesta and Ambien are the same "types" of sleep aids but that is all I know. I hope Ryan can clear this up for us.
1274896 tn?1271218419 Hi All, Just got back from seeing my pain doc and am starting my official tapering schedule today. I will take 7 norcos a day for either 1 or 2 weeks - she left it up to me - I am going to try to make it just one week. Then 6 for 2 weeks, etc. I did not get a refill on my morphines - I would used them to "tide me over" when I ran out of my norco early. I did get a new script for Lunesta - never had it before, I've always used Ambien.
Avatar f tn If you are interested, I have for your consideration a doctor located in Allentown, Pa. Also, please post those "normal" test results and reference ranges. What med and dosage are you taking? What symptoms are you having?
202665 tn?1248806733 * Additional medications should be added such as trazadone, lamictal, and sleep aides (Ambien, lunesta), or atleast the ability to enter in your own. * For real value, a user should have a drop down on the medications that allow you to select a dosage. You could do this in 5mg increments and go from 5-200. If someone is on mutiple medications - or even one - this would allow them to track there 'mood' according to the level of medication or combination they are trying.
Avatar n tn I was just wondering what dosage of Armour Thyroid other Hypothyroid patients were on? I understand it can be somewhat difficult to establish the correct dosage. I have read some patients started at 15mg while others started at 60mg but not what dosage they ended up with or how long it took them to arrive at an adequate dose. I was also wondering about the 'empty' stomach recommendation.
