Lunesta dosage medication insomnia

Common Questions and Answers about Lunesta dosage medication insomnia

lunesta

Avatar n tn Both Ambien and Lunesta are used to treat insomnia. However, on long term use, both have the potential of dependence / habit forming and should be used only by the person it was prescribed for. Treatment with Ambien may cause side effects like impairment of thinking or reactions. You may still feel sleepy the morning after taking the medication. In patients with liver disorder, a smaller dose of Ambien is generally prescribed. Ambien addiction is a serious problem requiring treatment.
327369 tn?1326119908 s first, but my MD is a little aggressive, I plan on discussing this with her in the near future, I do not know if it is the change in dosage, the actual Medication or a lack of medication that causes the Insomnia, but it sure beats the crap out of you when you can't sleep, and it is a symptom that many Hashi sufferers have.
Avatar f tn My doctor prescribed trazodone 100mg (I think it said mg) for my insomnia that I have suffered with for the last 15 years due to a thyroid problem I had years ago. I took it for the first time last night, but I did not fall asleep or even come close to falling asleep. I took it at 8:30pm and went to bed at 9pm, but ended up getting out of bed at 10pm because I could not sleep. The only difference I feel is a huge headache this morning.
Avatar f tn You may not have experienced all the withdrawal symptoms they look for because of the additional drugs they gave you... maybe....
Avatar f tn Hey all, so I got tired of not sleeping more than 4hrs a night after being off of Tramadol 42days and my Dr gave me Lunesta. I asked if it was addicting and he said yes but you won't buid up a tolerance to it... I would like to hear this though from someone that has taken this medication and has had to come off it... How hard was it? What where the wds like???ect.ect any info on this would be appreciated...Thank You. Jeffi.
Avatar f tn Ive always had insomnia issues, but when using (in the HIGH dosage days way back when) high amounts of opiates completely F'd my sleep cycle. Long story short. After a sleep study actually 2 of them, and many doctor visits I was diagnosed narcoleptic (insomnia goes with the territory.. seems weird but its true). If you've never experienced cataplexy, thank God right now cause its is really scary.
Avatar n tn I dont know why it is making me nausea. My doc then perscribed lunesta 3mg. Has anyone tried lunesta and experienced better sleep with it? Avatar f tn I've been suffering from insomnia for a few years now. Been prescribed almost every sleep aid available; the OTC's are of no benefit, and the sleep aids I have been prescribed have not been beneficial either because my tolerance to controlled substances is so high due to medicinal treatment for other chronic illnesses. Can anyone suggestion a sleep aid that has helped them achieve more than 1-1/2-2 hours of continuous sleep?
Avatar f tn Many people have problems with insomnia on HCV treatment. Try to get even light exercise during the day, avoid daytime naps, no caffeine after noon, and if none of that helps, maybe you could ask your doctor for something like Ambien of Lunesta maybe; I assume they are available in Canada, although possibly under a different brand name. The generic name for Ambien is ‘Zolpidem’, if that helps.
Avatar n tn Doctors are prescribing this medication and the lunesta for months and years. If you do the research you will find out the companies state it should NEVER be used more than 10-days to 2 weeks at most. If you are having insomnia now wait till you have given up these meds for a few day and weeks. You feel horrible. I will never take another prescription sleep drug.
Avatar f tn Changed antidepressants 3 weeks ago from Lexapro to Bupropion Xl 150... Bad insomnia hit this week... up for over 36 hours. They gave me Lunesta 3mg. I have taken 2 nights in a row and sleep well. Then today Pins & needles in arms, legs, feet, and head. should I be looking at thyroid again and not the new meds?
Avatar m tn I think the biggest side effect that you might have will be insomnia. I used to take Lunesta and when I stopped I didn't sleep for a week. On a positive note,,,COngrats on 20days!!!
Avatar m tn My psychologist told me to ask my GP about Lunesta, and a family friend said to ask about Secobarbital. But if I am not mistaken, barbiturates aren't used anymore and Lunesta is in the same class as ambien so wouldn't lunesta cause me to do crazy things I don't remember? Please help me find a sleeping medicine that will give me some relief.
Avatar f tn Hey Sandy is Lyrica better than Lunesta? I'm trying out the Lunesta but I get a metalic flavor after I take it and it doesn't go away till like mid day the next day...
Avatar f tn I was wondering how doctors could miss my symptoms as they were, Fatigued, swollen calves and fingers and face, mood swings, extreme dry skin on legs and middle of back and other areas, major brain fog and insomnia so bad that for three days and nights could not sleep at all and lunesta and ambien done zip 30 mg of lunesta and not even a nod off. And weight loss lg number then weight gain also high protein in blood count I did get my doc to listen and he has me on levothyroxine 0.
Avatar f tn Hi, I've taken 6 mg lunesta, 8 mg ativan, zzzquil (benadryl with 10% alcohol). I also take Luvox and desipramine daily. Any chance this is too much? Really want to sleep but insomnia.
Avatar m tn My doc prescribed Lunesta and I took that for the first time last night - slept for only 2 hours and woke in a hot sweat. That was it for the night. It seems that my stomach pains may be stress-related and that this may be the reason I'm waking up and can't get back to sleep. I'm having a difficult time making it through the day due to lack of sleep. Also feeling kind of foggy from the meds. Never had sleep issues before my trip.
Avatar n tn anybody have ideas to help insomnia, i am taking melatonin and it was working during tx , but I am in the middle of my third week of tx . i have a chemically induced daze, little fatigue , muscle aches amd slight insomnia and melatonin doesnt seem to kick in , so i tale a little Ativan and it helps a little.
Avatar n tn I am being treated with the medication Levoxyl 112mcg right now. June the 19th I return to the doctor for blood work to test my thyroid. Since May 22, 2008 I am having problems sleeping. I have insomnia. First it started with me being able to go to sleep and later I would wake up around 5:00am in the morning every day. Then it got worse were now I can not sleep on my own at all. I am having to take sleeping pills to sleep. I tried Ambien, Ambien CR, Lunesta, and amitriptyline.
458072 tn?1291415186 I have had insomnia for over 2 years now. I wake up all night long, just about like clock work. Sometimes with a startle reflex. I believe it is related to my hypothyroidism and maybe the adrenal fatigue.. I have not found a med to help with this. Even had some drs tell me, it would not resolve until the thyroid was undercontrol. Does anyone else have this problem, or is it just me?
175688 tn?1297556647 Though it is usually looked as an anti-depressant and is effective for most in treating symptoms of depression it is more recently been found to be an effective medication in aiding in issues with insomnia, certain types of nerve pain, chronic migraines, fibromyalgia pains, and quite a few other "off-label" uses.
1102799 tn?1269237714 Has anyone ever had insomnia during pregnancy? I swear there must be something else I could be doing to help my body get back on track! My Dr has prescribed 10 mg of ambien but it dosent seem to help me fall asleep.HELP!
Avatar f tn t mean that might not be the only alternative for some people, but for most taking any drug because of sedation side effects will eventually probably stop working and lead to something called rebound insomnia, which means not solving the problem and relying on medication can make it worse in the long term.
Avatar f tn If so, does it work for you, did it take a couple of weeks for it to help you? Any good or bad side effects? Currently taking 100mg for insomnia, but does not seem to be helping, only on it for 10 days. Thanks.
