lunesta and xanax

I have been on 80 mg. Of oxy for a year now n quit cold turkey Friday night. I had no idea what I was in for. The muscle spasms , migriane followed by vomiting. Can't sleep so tried. Final call some local abuse hotline. They were closed for mlk. Call my doc. On 4th day gave Xanax for a week and lunesta at night is this a bad idea? My wife.

i am on lunesta, i take a break every now and then, but the doc said it was ok.

this is just my experience, and I'm not on tx yet...I can't take Lunesta and ambien, ambien makes me feel nutzo the next morning, but many people are fine with it...I take ativan if I have had a lot of sleepless nights in a row, and at a very low dose...I find tranquilizers lull me into sleep, which I prefer...best of luck...

I want to taper off xanax. Would it be safe to take half a 1 mg. xanax with 2 mg Lunesta or would I then become dependent on the Lunesta also?

It's 3 weeks since I've been having a pretty serious depression, including anxiety & sleeplessness. I was put on a new antidepressant LexiPro (15 days now), xanax as needed, which I only need to "take the edge off" when Im shaky, and Lunesta to sleep. This is the 2nd time I've used Lunesta.

Initially i was taking Xanax and lunesta at the same time with mixed results. So now, her NEW prescription is stated in the above subject line. and my question is, is this a safe a cocktail? how am i going to feel with taking the 15 mg. of remeron AT THE SAME TIME AS THE XANAX AND LUNESTA????? thanks for your time. i am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel and i ALMOST there. i am just a little skeptical on taking this stuff on top of what i am taking. thanks again.

I didn't start taking Xanax n lunesta until late into day 3 when my wife my doc.

Been on 1mg Xanex for 10 years and stopped abruptly last week. Stopped the Lunesta 5 days ago cold turkey, and same thing with the xanex- Severe withdrawl symptoms appeared 5 days ago. burning beginning in chest, extending down to bladder and palpatations, shakiness, severe feeling of nausea, and an urgent need to move my bowels after the episode "Episode" lasts about 1minute. Usually about 4 times per day. Teeth clenching all night and intermittent during the day.

Nauty- I replied to your other post about PMDD- I hope it helps. I didn't know you were taking anti-anxiety meds as well for this- as PMDD is what drove me to become very recently addicted to Xanax (that and Chantix to quit smoking- since you smoke, let me issue the warning now- DO NOT USE Chantix if you have PMDD and are otherwise prone to irrational behavior because of it. I almost gave up my life this past Sunday- which is why I found this forum.

I took Lunesta through detox and for all I know a tic tac would have been more effective. You know you can get through it - you have done it before. Just stay strong and prepare for the 'staying' clean part.. much harder than the 'getting' clean part. Best of luck!

My wife n I needed help he gave Xanax for day and lunesta at night, which gave me 4 hrs. Of sleep my question is now its day 5 should I not be taking these Xanax? When will the tremors stop completly? Iam so tried I dont think I did this right!!

Trazadone is a great med that helps with sleep and it will also help w/anxiety the next day after u take it.I remember taking them when I was taking like6-8mg of xanax a day and I quit and took the trazadone to help w/sleep cause benzo w/d is rough and sleep doesnt come easy.Well to my surprise it helped a lot with not feeling like I was gonna jump out of my skin.The only thing is for me((maybe cause I needed it so badly)I slept9+hours the1st few times I took it).

valium is a safer benzo/still addicting but not as strong as xanax....there r safer sleep meds..ambien and lunesta altho i have heard of people abusing those as well...not physically addicting as a rule tho....valerian root and ambien is what i used...many like melatonin...then there is benadryl which is usually the ingrediend in otc sleep aids like tylenol pm....anything a person uses every night to sleep can become mentally habit forming tho..even nyquil!

I am actually being tapered from Risperidone and Xanax by my Psychiatrist and am having sleep problems but I shall take Melatonin or Rozerem instead after consulting my Psychiatrist as I dont want go through another withdrawal syndrome.

I have tried Lunesta and it worked for a year and I am now on Xanax which I seem to have to take more and more of to sleep. What can I do?

How many of you struggle with sleep problems even when you seem to be medicated properly? Just sick of it here and needing to vent. I sleep so great some nights and others it is a struggle.....I am either wired, heart is palpitating, etc. and then I get anxious because I cannot sleep and know that I will be tired at work the next day. I have some xanex that helps sometimes and I have tried melatonin but nothing is great at helping me. I do not like lunesta or ambien because of side effects.

(oral, months after hospital stay), did not effect me at all , possible benzo tolerance maybe? -Valerian Root, Kava, and Melatonin: None effected me -Antidepressants: Wellbutrin, Effexor, Cymbalta, Prozac What other drugs would be a possibility to help me get to sleep? My psychologist told me to ask my GP about Lunesta, and a family friend said to ask about Secobarbital.

Just got back from the pdoc. He prescribed Pristiq 50 mgs. Says I "can" go as high as 400, but of course we are starting slow. Anyone have any reactions good or bad with this? He did tell me I won't feel anything probably 3-4 weeks, so I'm pretty anxious to get this started. I am also on xanax, seroquel, and he just prescribed Lunesta because I haven't been sleeping and have had no luck with ambien.

talk to ur doctor and see what he can do for u...lunesta never worked for me and i take ambien when i need something/both r drugs of abuse tho for some people so it depends onwhat u can handle without abusing...something that makes me sleepy has never been sumpin i would abuse as i like the "kick start" or energy part of pills...never took a fancy to benzos either....talk to ur doctor and good luck..

Here I go again, I don't feel like typing everything. I am 55 years old. Mother of 7 grandmother of 6. I am married and I work and take care of my husband and my home. I started having severe panic attacks 35 years ago. I have been on some type of meds for it every since. I was told when I was 33 years old that I might have to be on it the rest of my life. I said okay, if that's what I have to do. I don't use alcohol or do any other drugs..never have.

I was prescribed xanax about a year ago for panic attacks due to a rape and I was diagnosed with Post Traumatic stress. I never took them at that time. I don't like to take pills at all. They prescribed me Lunesta for sleeping. It worked pretty good. I had a miscarriage April 18th and haven't had a good night sleep since. I haven't slept more than 3 or 4 hours.

I have been off Norco for five weeks (CT) after being on it for 10 months. I had knee replacement surgery in December. I switched to taking Lunesta about ten days ago after taking Ambien for three years. I don't know if that switch is trading one thing for another - but I guess I became much more aware of ALL drugs after a few days on this site. I dont know why it is making me nausea. My doc then perscribed lunesta 3mg. Has anyone tried lunesta and experienced better sleep with it? I am afraid of trying lunesta because i dont want to feel so nausea again. I didn't take any sleep med last night...didnt have a very good sleep but still i feel nausea. Hi Everyone: After having had my symtpoms almost completely go away for weeks, I seem to be have a pretty big flair in my symptoms. I posted the other day that my regular doc (not my LLMD) is trying to get me off of my Xanax that I started years ago for sleeping issues. Anyway, I was taking between .5 and .75 mg per night for sleeping. This is a very small dosage. Anyway, so the last three nights, I've only taken .25 mg around 5 or 530 and then Lunesta at bedtime.
