Lunesta and pain medication

Common Questions and Answers about Lunesta and pain medication

lunesta

Avatar m tn Tylenol is safe for most users when taken at the correct dose and for a short period of time, it is the best choice for people with liver problems who are in pain and when taken correctly and for a short period of time. However if you are not in pain and just have trouble sleeping I would not use tylenol PM. Why take the Acetaminophen if you do not need it? For OTC your best bet is Benadryl.
Avatar n tn Does anyone know if thats good i tried it once and really liked it it doesnt seem to be addicting
Avatar f tn Hey all, so I got tired of not sleeping more than 4hrs a night after being off of Tramadol 42days and my Dr gave me Lunesta. I asked if it was addicting and he said yes but you won't buid up a tolerance to it... I would like to hear this though from someone that has taken this medication and has had to come off it... How hard was it? What where the wds like???ect.ect any info on this would be appreciated...Thank You. Jeffi.
611606 tn?1315517767 Yes I use a sleeping aid, but I dont use a morphine pump, I just use fentynal patches and oxycodone for pain, the sleeping medication my doctor gave me is Remeron, it works very well, its not an addictive sleeping aid and the bonus side effect is appetite so when your too nauseated or just dont want to eat, it aleviates that. The only problem is that Remeron makes me hungry at night, dont know why but thats the time i usually start getting an appetite.
Avatar f tn It's 3 weeks since I've been having a pretty serious depression, including anxiety & sleeplessness. I was put on a new antidepressant LexiPro (15 days now), xanax as needed, which I only need to "take the edge off" when Im shaky, and Lunesta to sleep. This is the 2nd time I've used Lunesta.
Avatar n tn I dont know why it is making me nausea. My doc then perscribed lunesta 3mg. Has anyone tried lunesta and experienced better sleep with it? I am afraid of trying lunesta because i dont want to feel so nausea again. I didn't take any sleep med last night...didnt have a very good sleep but still i feel nausea. I need something to help me sleep without causing nausea and to help me sleep like a baby throughout the night pleaseee.
Avatar m tn The highest available dose of Lunesta is 3mg. Recently, thought is that Lunesta, Ambien, and others in this class are very similar to benzodiazepine drugs. But I haven't read much about addiction or withdrawl from these meds. Seems like insomnia would be a given, but you could try melatonin or valerian root to combat that. Good luck either way.
Avatar m tn He may well be getting too much pain medicine. Fentanyl, fentora, and opana are all strong pain meds..... depending upon metabolism and times of dose the lunesta and the diazepam may be interacting. With a history of 8 surgeries he may be on too much for pain. Doc Jeff will have real solid advice....... I would think that if the pain is a strong issue with what he is on you need to rethink the game plan. Dont want to medicate him to a coma........but you dont want him in 24/7 pain either.
Avatar n tn Doctors are prescribing this medication and the lunesta for months and years. If you do the research you will find out the companies state it should NEVER be used more than 10-days to 2 weeks at most. If you are having insomnia now wait till you have given up these meds for a few day and weeks. You feel horrible. I will never take another prescription sleep drug.
Avatar n tn It is possible that you contratced an infection, hence the pain during urination and the back pain. This could be a consequence of some reflux of the semen back into the prostate or epididymis that would have affected these structures resulting in irritaion and inflammation which may or may not have been part of the infection. Spraying is a sign of urethral stricture or prostatic hypertrophy, which can occur in response to the prostate inflammation.
266660 tn?1189755834 ) I was prescribed Klonopin for anxiety and sleep and she said to not take it with Lunesta (this is after I asked *her*, she didn't mention it until then.) The Klonopin seems to work as well as the Lunesta, BTW. Kevin, I've read that Lunesta and Ambien are the same "types" of sleep aids but that is all I know. I hope Ryan can clear this up for us.
Avatar m tn its been 2 days on That dose, tday im gonna try not to take it. My Doc prescribed me some 350mg soma for the pain and lunesta for sleep. Im going to try taking soma if the pain becomes unbearable, any advice pls?
Avatar n tn When I was in the hospital the only pain medication that worked for me was morphine and it was through an IV. In fact, it worked so well I was asleep most of my stay, which I really could not stand. I am just really confused, since I have never taken any drugs or street drugs for that matter, so am confused as to why they don't work for me?
Avatar n tn Now I am post TX and the insomnia has not yet left, so they prescribed Ambien and Lunesta for me (i grew allergic to something in the benedryl). They are all harmless to liver but the ambien & lunesta do cause dependence so I alternate them: Ambien for a couple nights, then lunesta (which does not work as well for me) for one night. The 'dependence' is not a big deal; just means you'll have a several very sleepless nights after you quit them.
Avatar n tn I weaned off tegretol as well and i take it when i really need it, even relieves my low back pain and when i feel anxious. I have low back pain from time to time, foot pain. Also i can not exercise strongly because i get nervous for some days and i found out on the net that it is due to the thyroid...
Avatar n tn Which sleep aid is less addicting and less toxic, ambien or lunesta. I have heard ambien is hard on your liver.
Avatar f tn feel like lead all day and then had horrid insomnia...rinse and repeat. I am currently taking 2mg lunesta ($9 with copay and lunesta discount card), which helps me sleep..and ~sleep~ is needed for weight loss, good feelings and such. I have had intermediate night sweats, which I found out today from my endo ~is~ a part of being hypothyroid.
Avatar n tn I had an allergic reaction to ambien so I can not personally reccomend it. However I loved my lunesta, it worked very fast. Now, just like with pain pills when you take sleeping pills be prepared to go to sleep. They are aiding you not making you go to sleep. It is not anesthesia so don't expect it to work as such. I no longer can afford the lunesta I go to my local VA for my medications and they don't carry lunesta.
Avatar f tn My doc said he had no time to deal with insurance companies and he said that if he did it for me I could only be allowed a 10 days supply and not a month due to use for short term use only. So was given ALPRAZOLAM XANAX for my sleep and insomnia. Was told that in one week if it does not work I will get something different.
2021910 tn?1339896686 I'm on Ambien every night, otherwise, I would only get 2 hours of sleep a night. The benefits outweigh the risks. My doctor said there is a chance of depending on it to put you to sleep, but when my newborn comes, I'll wean off of it from having to be up with him all night. I even took Ambien with my first son, and he was born picture perfect. Get some rest!
Avatar f tn Celexa (depression), Ultram (pain) Vicodin (bad pain), Lunesta (to stay asleep), and now Provigil (to stay awake in the day). I have say, these all are helping, but maybe about 50%. The pain never goes away, only flucuates to bad or worse. The Lunesta is great. I tried Ambien & Sonata, but couldn't handle the side effects. Lunesta keeps me asleep but doesn't make me feel hung-over in the morning.
1274896 tn?1271218419 ve had increased pain in my shoulder but I am dealing with it. And I have had some decrease in pain as well - my hands and fingers are less swollen and stiff. I tried to get my rings on this morning and still couldn't do it but hopefully, that will come in time.
Avatar f tn When I kept forgetting to take the second dose, he suggested the 30mg X-RAY And it seemed to work extremely well, I was not sleeping at all, had lots of stress and went through a number of different antidepressants, they all pretty much made feel hung over and generally like crap all day. He suggested Lunesta and it seemed to work enough to get atleast 6hrs of sleep and felt well rested the next day.
Avatar m tn to no avail. saw a sleep specialist and he put me on both seroquel to be taken with Lunesta. it all went downhill from there. to make a long story short, this is when i started having panic attacks. So it was time for me to take some time off of work and see a psychiatrist, since that is what the ER physician recommended. My 1st psyc put me on 10 mg. of lexapro and 30 mg of temazepan and it was HORRIFYING.
Avatar f tn I am slow to check things out, part of the reason I could be in this trouble with Hep C, but I looked at the Lunesta and it says not to take over 2mg if you have liver problems. ? I don't take it every night. But this has made me question all the drugs I am on. My tx doses are 1,000 riba and the interferon. And I am doing the white blood cell shot also once a week. This is a lot of drugs to me! Does anyone else take these?
Avatar m tn Been on 1mg Xanex for 10 years and stopped abruptly last week. Stopped the Lunesta 5 days ago cold turkey, and same thing with the xanex- Severe withdrawl symptoms appeared 5 days ago. burning beginning in chest, extending down to bladder and palpatations, shakiness, severe feeling of nausea, and an urgent need to move my bowels after the episode "Episode" lasts about 1minute. Usually about 4 times per day. Teeth clenching all night and intermittent during the day.
