Lunesta and night sweats

Common Questions and Answers about Lunesta and night sweats

lunesta

Avatar f tn and ~sleep~ is needed for weight loss, good feelings and such. I have had intermediate night sweats, which I found out today from my endo ~is~ a part of being hypothyroid. I have not gone through what my dear husband calls "minnow's pause", but a ~good~ endo will check ~all~ your hormones if you go in with your list of symptoms. I hope you feel better, and you sound hypo to me.
Avatar n tn I dont know why it is making me nausea. My doc then perscribed lunesta 3mg. Has anyone tried lunesta and experienced better sleep with it? I am afraid of trying lunesta because i dont want to feel so nausea again. I didn't take any sleep med last night...didnt have a very good sleep but still i feel nausea. I need something to help me sleep without causing nausea and to help me sleep like a baby throughout the night pleaseee.

Avatar f tn She started me on Lo-Seasonique to try to regulate hormone levels, and my GP started me on Lunesta for the insomnia. I still have the INSANE hot flashes, night sweats, and moodiness. Could it be ovarian failure, or is this maybe the left ovary having difficulty trying to keep up with the hormone balance now that its "partner" is gone? Thank you so much!
458072 tn?1291415186 My GYN started me on estrace, even though numbers were normal to see if this would help. Has caused night sweats, instead of helping. I am trying to get off after one month, and it is not easy. I have tried the magnesium. NOTHING seems to help. Between the thyroid and the adrenals and severe insomnia, I feel like a slug. No motivation, or interest. I am unable to work at this point. Need to, but can't. My memory is so bad, its embarassing.
Avatar f tn I tried melotonin and valerian root, the valerian helped with me falling asleep but I don't stay asleep for more than 3-4 hours at night. I took the Lunesta last night and was out for 8 full hours but I am a little scare to take it. So tonight I'm not gonna take it and maybe ill just take it every other day. But see that's how I started with the tramadol just one here and there for back pain then I was up to taking 12 a day.
Avatar n tn You think you are not going to sleep without it so you go ahead and take it every night. I tried lunesta but couldn't get past the taste. It stayed with me all night. I also take ambein . It helps with irritability.
798555 tn?1292787551 I go to bed very cold but do feel warm at 3 AM when I just suddenly wake - no night sweats like when I was still hypo, just warm. I wonder if the warm feeling is nighttime adrenal? I might take my ashwagonda again (adrenal adaptogen). I was this way in the past, now its back. Exercise does not help much. Wonder if this is seasonal? Magnesium was very calming but seems to have no affect on sleep now. My free levels were good in Nov - FT4 low range FT3 in upper third of range.
Avatar m tn Keep in mind that antidepressants frequently cause night sweats. I get them from Lexapro and Celexa, for example. So medication can cause the same symptoms as anxiety. One thing you might try is dividing the Zoloft dose in two -- sometimes that levels the side effects and keeps a steady amount in your bloodstream.
Avatar f tn Hi, I had the right side of my thyroid removed last year due to a benign nodule. They didn't know it was benign until they removed it as the FNA was inconclusive. I'm going through the menopause and have night sweats but you're far too young for that. Did your doctor put you on medication for your thyroid after your op? a month after my operation I was put on a 100mg of Thyroxine and seems I'm on it for life.
Avatar f tn Im 27 weeks and oh my lord. I had them really really bad early on, like i would wake up and be drenched. It didnt matter if i slept in my pjs or just my undies. It has calmed down a lot though since the first few months. I always have a fan going and have a cold pillow inbetween my legs.
Avatar f tn I never had night sweats with menopause and have a hysterectomy. My sheets, pillow and nightgown are soaked every night for over a month, but I am cold. I kept forgetting to tell my doctor. I am calling tomorrow. Not to jump to conclusions, but I read that this is a sign of lymphoma. I just had a CT Scan and they said my lymph nodes were fine. Has anyone else had this with cancer in general. I was on Carbo/taxol, but it has been a month off and now am 5 days into Doxil.
Avatar m tn Does anyone know the specifics of Night sweats and ARS? Like how long do they last, and how much sweat you produce. I have been having them every night for the past 2+ months... And also I heard Teak say on another post, that swollen lymphnodes associated with ARS are not Tender, and do not hurt with pressure applied. Can anyone confirm this?
Avatar n tn Although both men and women suffered from their most intense and most frequent symptoms from the ages of 41 to 55, this report focused on aged subjects in order to isolate the effects of night sweats themselves from the effects of menopause and its associated symptoms. Night sweats during menopause are usually caused by estrogen deficiency, but because both older men and postmenopausal women experience night flashes, in this older group that is less likely to be the case.
1064938 tn?1255282319 Hey Lisa, With the usual night sweats I always got days 2,3,4, you are OK and all of a sudden you are having a hot flash and are drenched and feel like you're in a sauna. You kick off the covers and then 10 min later, you are cold and put the covers back on. Then this process repeats itself all night. I always get those the first 3 days or so. The other day though, (day 9, I think) the chills and night sweats started again. With these sweats I'm getting now.
Avatar m tn I have had day sweats, night sweats, just think sweats, dont think sweats, big sweats, little sweats AND I even sweat in the shower. No I did not have this problem prior to last week. Got me some of that Avon perfume scented roll on deodrant. That seems to be my new best friend. I have been drinking about a gallon of water daily for over two weeks. Thanks for all your posts EVERYONE. It sure helped pre tx and now. Very appreciative newbie.
703031 tn?1398963307 I am a 33 year old female and have recently begun to experience night sweats. (approx. the past 6 to 8 weeks). Some nights I sweat enough to soak my hair and pillow and a portion of the sheets. Other nights, I wake up soaked from head to toe where I need to towel off and change my sheets. Should I contact my doctor and make an appointment? I hate going in for something that is "completely normal"...lol. My room isn't hot at all.
Avatar f tn My first month on treatment was hot flashes one minute and chills the next but then the hot flashes and night sweats disappeared. So no night sweats for me while on TX and I am hoping they don't return when TX ends but time will tell.
Avatar f tn When I started, I was also taking bioidentical progesterone, estrogen mix and DHEA to control hot flashes and night sweats, which it was doing very well. Once levothyroxine came in, the flashes and night sweats came back with a vengeance and I had trouble sleeping.
Avatar f tn Good Evening, Not looking for a diagnoses here, I just want a better understanding of night sweats and HIV. Yes yes I'm typical person on here, I had unprotected sex and no I don't have the typical ARS symptoms which doesn't matter anyway.I'm having night sweats periodically though, like twice every 3 months for the past year and half. I'm not sure if its related to stress/anxiety because I've been stress for a while b/c of work and personal life.
Avatar n tn It is possible that other health problems are causing the night sweats, and I encourage you to have him checked by his physician since this seems to be happening fairly often. Another possibility is that the night sweats ARE hypo-related but that his liver is producing emergency sugars after a hypo while he is asleep and is therefore bringing his glucose levels up to normal by the time he wakes up; hence, his normal or slightly high glucose readings.
Avatar f tn It sounds to me like your hormones may be off balance. Has anyone done a blood test to check your hormone levels? I'm pretty sure that at 22 years of age and 2 children later, you're not in menopause but, something is causing these night sweats and you shouldn't have to suffer through them because your doc doesn't know and is not looking any further as to the cause.
Avatar n tn i had my right ovary and fallopian tube removed 4 weeks ago due to a very large cyst being attached to my ovary. Ever since then i have suffered really awful and bad night sweats. I have discussed it with the doctor but he has said it is a hormone unbalance and the left ovary is playing catch up and needs to work for both ovaries now the right one has gone and this may take a while. In the mean time i am literally surviving on 2 hours sleep a night.
736293 tn?1316517842 i am also having night sweats for the first time within the past week and it's driving me nuts, i'm always hot and waking up all nasty and sweaty. i have the air on like 68 and still burning up so idk whats going on either, but i guess it's normal.
Avatar m tn d hypo and put on med, I noticed that the sweats got fewer and less severe as my levels go better. Now, I have night sweats when my levels are off, but usually only once or twice/night as opposed to 5-6 times/night I used to get them.
Avatar f tn I'm so glad I'm not the only one the night sweats totally suck. I'm gonna be so glad when it stops.
Avatar f tn I'm 7 months pregnant and lately I been experiencing these horrible night sweats is that like a part of pregnancy thing & why??
