I've been on lunesta, probably 5 times a week for 6 months now. Metallic taste happens in the beginning or if I don't take it for a couple days. I agree, it is super gross but if you drink Gatorade instead of water at night, you won't taste it.
For the last fev days, ever since we are using humidifier I have a metallic taste in my mouth; the strongest is always in the morning; my husband just turn on house humidifier and I wonder if this is just coincident, or it does have something to do with the humidifier... furnice, and humidifier are working more during the night, that would explain, but is so strange... anybody has any idea?
Yes, Lunesta is terrible for taste..what I did with clonidine was keep a bag of hard candies around and suck on them when needed..helped a great deal with the dry mouth/bad taste...and they definitely will make you sleepy...I fell asleep on a concall for work one time..fortunately I was at home and on mute and all I had to do was listen.

After everything was finished I still had the bad taste and metallic taste. He then said it was probably another tooth and it should be extracted. I'm not going back to him but started researching this taste thing and saw where people with Sjogrens or Sarcoid may experience this. I have been diagnosed with both (in early 2008). I mentioned to two different dentist that I had both and neither one said a word about the connection.
and i put on ulcer i used four or five days after one or two weeks i started to feel metallic taste still now i have been metallic taste for three weeks.is it could coz of that oral medicine can anyone answer me please. You can fight against the metallic taste by having citrus juices, lemonade and foods marinated in vinegar. They not only break through the taste, but also help in saliva production that helps in washing away the metallic taste. Every time you brush your teeth, make sure to brush your tongue also. It will help in lessening the metallic taste. You can use some oral mouthwashes also. This should help.
But if the symptoms persist then please consult a doctor for a complete examination.
Lemon drops. My cancer patients say that chemo leaves a metallic taste in there mouth and old fashion lemon drops are the best thing. Don't know why you would have that taste in your mouth tho.
When blood breaks down, iron is released and causes a metallic taste in mouth. Bleeding can be from the gums, sinuses or nose. The taste can get especially bad when someone has post nasal drip and the dried blood sticks to the back of the throat. OUt of those who has been so lucky to have the metallic taste in the back of your mouth happen...need some advice. I had my first incounter of this tonight at work. and it was here for about 20 min & I drank some orange sour stuff. made it go away.. does it come and go? or is it usually constant?
i'm only 11dpo so this is really early to ahve the "start of this" ...
Same here and I'm 12 weeks I find my self always finding hard candy to suck on to get rid of it.
How reliable is having a metallic taste constantly as a pregnancy sympton? I've had it since Sunday and it's getting worse. It tastes like I've got teaspoons in my mouth and food just taste terrible especially sweet things. I was due for AF on Wednesday but I started brown spotting on Sunday and then started a very light flow on Wednesday night which remained very light and a pinky light red colour and has basically stopped now.
