Lunesta and long term use

Common Questions and Answers about Lunesta and long term use

lunesta

Avatar f tn I did try to research Lunesta and Addrell together, not finding anything on those 2 together. The info I find on long term Lunesta use states if the person does not have prior drug abuse (I've never had this issue) there was reason to be concerned. I was not having any side effects from them at all. Question- has anyone else had problems with Lunesta and Adderall? or heard of anyone having issues with these meds? Or a reliable study showing these results or similar.
Avatar f tn To use very short term, possibly even skipping nights is ok. How many did he give you and for how long? Lunesta has some nasty side effects, driving and eating while sleeping, confusion. Did you try OTC sleep aids? Melatonin, valerian root, altering, sleep by nature made?
Avatar n tn I dont know why it is making me nausea. My doc then perscribed lunesta 3mg. Has anyone tried lunesta and experienced better sleep with it? I am afraid of trying lunesta because i dont want to feel so nausea again. I didn't take any sleep med last night...didnt have a very good sleep but still i feel nausea. I need something to help me sleep without causing nausea and to help me sleep like a baby throughout the night pleaseee.
462361 tn?1207858977 short term use should be ok but any sleep aid can become habbit forming becuse the body will use the drug insted of its own chemicals try melatonin it helps with sleep but you can use the lunesta it is non narcotic sleep aid.
Avatar n tn Both Ambien and Lunesta are used to treat insomnia. However, on long term use, both have the potential of dependence / habit forming and should be used only by the person it was prescribed for. Treatment with Ambien may cause side effects like impairment of thinking or reactions. You may still feel sleepy the morning after taking the medication. In patients with liver disorder, a smaller dose of Ambien is generally prescribed. Ambien addiction is a serious problem requiring treatment.
Avatar f tn I have recently been feeling full of regret, very emotional and tearful, I have been informed this amy be due to the long term use of Naltrexone, and lack of natural endorphins , so i have been advised by my CDT Nurse to start thinking about coming off of them, is this right? Other wise, my life is so good compared to what it was, I am happy, but just feel like the past keeps wanting me to remember how bad things were... could my 'miracle' now be becoming my tormenter?
Avatar f tn They certainly hear all the negative media coverage damning the prescription and use of long term opiates. If we influence or change one person's negative attitude towards chronic pain and its management than we are fighting the war against us! Yes the War against Us, Against Chronic Pain Patients. You should not be shamed or harassed into this position, "stop the mess and live in constant pain." Taking your husband to your next appt along with educating him may be beneficial.
Avatar m tn The emotional and mental detox have not happened yet, you are still on an opioid. How long you been on subs and do you plan on taking them awhile to form a solid recovery? Are you in aftercare?
Avatar f tn several years ago I contracted a staph infection from knee surgery resulting in multiple surgeries and long term pain. A couple of years ago my infectious disease dr found a dr to replace this knee and then the next year I had the other knee replaced due to long term osteo arthritis and over use from the staph for 3 yrs. During all this time I took vicoden regularly..up to 4 a day at times. Since the last knee replacment almost 2 yrs ago, I continue to take at least one vicoden a day.
Avatar m tn I bought the benzo's off the internet and only take them when I feel like I can't do anything but the dxm. I'm careful w/ them and don't use them to get buzzed, ( not that they do that for me anyway). It's just to relieve the tightness of the chest and rapid heartbeat that sometimes accompany the w/draw. Maybe once or twice a week. I'm working w/ a therapist thru the VA who specializes in 'harm reduction'.
Avatar f tn Terrible long term side effects, mental and phycical. My Dr.is convinced there is no long term effects , he is wrong and has no clue. Has there been any new information on stoping suboxone use. It is taking a toll on my mental and pysical heath??? pcacake.
Avatar m tn Dear whoever may know, I was diagnosed with anxiety and panic disorder 2 1/2 years ago, and I have been taking Lexapro at 10 mg per day ever since. The medicine has really seemed to have helped my life in all aspects. Whether it has really helped or if this is some kind of placebo effect, I am unsure. I still have moments of reasonable stress at work, but who doesn't...most importantly, I don't have panic attacks anymore.
Avatar n tn Is there any info about long term plavix use. I have been taking Plavix along with Lisinopril and Toprol for the past two years after quad bypass but I don't feel very good about it anymore. Any info as in is this medicine weakening my internal organs.
Avatar f tn You might try taking a combination of Valerian and Melatonin when you stop the Lunesta. I was taking Lunesta in my early withdrawals and it did make me sleep, but that nasty taste was to much for me. I must say I haven't really slept really well since, but the herbs I mention do help somewhat, I take a hot bath before bed then I take them. From what I've heard Lunesta withdrawals are mainly mental, but you can get addicted to just about anything.
202665 tn?1248806733 Ambien is generally meant for short term use. Lunesta can be used long term. Rozerem is another good sleep aide and specifically better than either of those two because it being derived from melatonin adjusts the sleep cycle. Anti-depressents can sometimes set off mania in a person with bipolar so I'd be concerned that's what might be going on but they are sometimes needed.
