Lunesta and klonopin interactions

Common Questions and Answers about Lunesta and klonopin interactions

lunesta

266660 tn?1189755834 ) I was prescribed Klonopin for anxiety and sleep and she said to not take it with Lunesta (this is after I asked *her*, she didn't mention it until then.) The Klonopin seems to work as well as the Lunesta, BTW. Kevin, I've read that Lunesta and Ambien are the same "types" of sleep aids but that is all I know. I hope Ryan can clear this up for us.
1000729 tn?1253365050 So, I promised not to post a thread any earlier than every 5 days cuz it's unfair to flood the forum!!!!! Here's my update!!!! Da1-3 was pure he11!!!! I have never dealt with such lack of energy and depression and sick to my stomach and chills and etc., etc...... I wouldn't wish that upon my worse enemy!!!! Day 4 I felt a little better and today even a little better.... I am still concerned about the half life of the Fent.
Avatar m tn As needed or regularly? I personally would be scared to take Klonopin and Lunesta together. Have you done it yet? Is the Lunesta just for once in awhile?
Avatar n tn Klonopin is a benzo and should have a sort of 'sedative' effect on you...it usually will calm you down and is actually a longer acting than others in the same class like Ativan or Xanax. However, medications affect people in different ways. If you are having problems with this go back and talk to your doctor about it. Just don't stop taking it or adjust dosage on your own. Keep us posted!
Avatar n tn Can I take Klonopin wafer with my other sleeps meds: Lunesta 6mg, Tamazapan 30mg and Melontonin 5mg...? Thank you.
Avatar n tn I never tried remeron, but ambien was horrible and so was resterol the taste of the lunesta that it leaves in your mouth is horrible so there is no easy answer but I did find the ativan did help for a while and I still take it with the lunesta and I agree if I get a good nights sleep the next day is much better.
323551 tn?1255174750 sleep is priceless to many and psychological...and/or physical addiction is very easy to any sleep med that u depend on every night....i think the worst thing possible is for someone to depend on a true benzo for sleep tho...
Avatar n tn I can personally say that I was prescribed 8 mgs of Suboxone and 2 mgs of Klonopin per day. I had been on the Klonopin for a while before I started the Suboxone. And I was very eager to get off the Suboxone, so I always kept my dose at the threshold of withdrawal...not taking amounts that would get me high. For me, the Klonopin was actually a very helpful tool in tapering down my Suboxone.
246464 tn?1249452147 I have a Quetion about Medical Marijuana and its interactions with Anti-Anxiety Meds, in particular Lexipro or SSRI's, and Klonopin or Benzo's. Has anyone had experiences? Read Articles? Seen Studies? Thanks.
Avatar f tn As of last week (maybe two weeks ago), I had reduced my Klonopin intake from 3 MG/day to 1.5 MG/day.
Avatar f tn ll alternate between the valerian and the Klonopin, and only on as as needed basis. I am trying to keep my prozac at 40 ml, as more than that does keep me awake at night. I've nearly reached menopause, so maybe my good sleep of the long-ago past will some day return! Sorry this is so lengthy, Dr. Rajput!
736314 tn?1276884623 Ativan by itself is safe and I have not heard of any specific interactions to watch out for with it and Buspar together but there are always possibilities with medications that can emerge so give your psychiatrist a call and they can adjust it and titrate it as needed and see what's going on. If you are taking any other medications you could let us know and maybe we could give a little more information but of course your psychiatrist is the one to speak to about this and you should.
Avatar f tn at the top of the page, and you can enter your meds and then it will check the interactions. I will tell you that I just did it and the list is long. Not only does it do that, but next to each medication name before you do the the interaction checker there is a little symbol that will let you view all drug interactions for that particular drug. Prazosin for example has 3 major drug interaction, 396 moderate and 2 minor drug interactions. You have a really serious list of pills there.
1703515 tn?1350500231 It would be a good idea to ask the prescribing doctors of each medication and the pharmacist. In my experience, not all doctors are aware of the interactions between psychiatric medications and birth control. The information may not even be part of the pharmacist's official, professional information; mine had to do his own research to find a study about it. Also, if a psychiatric medication affects the effectiveness of a birth control medication, the reverse may also be true.
Avatar f tn I started taking Ambien & Prozac in Oct 2009. I started building a resistance so my doctor prescribed for me Restoril, that didn't work so she started me on Lunesta. After I started building a resistance to the Lunesta my doctor prescribed for me Ambien CR 12.5mg. It's now March 2010 and I need 4 or more Ambien CR to sleep. I can't sleep without it!!! I haven't taken the CR 12.5mg in 24hr and I have the common addiction symptoms.
Avatar n tn com for such things. I checked for you and alcohol had 2 well-documented interactions. Worth checking out - and also the pharmacist will usually question the doctors if something like that comes up. (Experience talking here). Before taking any new medication, it is so important to check interactions with other meds, food and alcohol (which can be found in cough syrups!
Avatar m tn i have had problems with my anxiety being really bad this past year and he prescribed me on klonopin. so i take celexa 40 mg for depression and klonopin .5 mg 3 times a day and now im on a new med called vistaril 25 mg three times a day with the klonopin. is this safe? i feel like im taking too much? please help!!! thanks!
Avatar n tn I am having to take sleeping pills to sleep. I tried Ambien, Ambien CR, Lunesta, and amitriptyline. Each medicine would only let me sleep for four hours a night. So I am taking the Lunesta right now. But it is very hard functioning during the day as I am very fatigued. My body previously was use to getting 8 hours of sleep a day. Do you know of any other medicines that would help with longer sleep? How long does it usually take for the sleep to return on its own?
Avatar f tn s like Klonopin have to be tapered very slowly. Its better to wait and be safe than sorry.. seizures and the other awful withdrawals symptoms are very scary so take care of yourself..
Avatar f tn I was on 4-2mg a day and I tappered myself off Klonopin.. its a really good drug I just had been on Xanax and did not want to rellive that nightmare so after a number of years on them I started to pop them in half and take 1/2 less each day. Now I spread this out over a long time and I was able to get off them. I do still take 1 - 2mg at night to sleep.. I have tried to get off it several time but have the most weird dreams.. I know I can wean it down I just dont botther too right now..
Avatar m tn that may be taken w/SOC and Vic? Sleep has been elusive for weeks and PCP giving me samples of Lunesta (Ambien causes heart palps and mild hallucinations.) I am on AD's, but begin SOC this evening and I am having anxiety (yes, I realize this is normal also). TIA.
Avatar n tn I was currently on Leaxpro and just got changed to Paxil and Klonopin. I also take propranolol for my heart twice a day. Is it safe for these medications to be taken together?
