Lump under ear jaw

Common Questions and Answers about Lump under ear jaw

lump

I've noticed it all day, there is a slight lump on the right side under my jaw. It is moveable, and isn't excruciating just yet. When I apply pressure, or face my head downwards, it gets very sore. I am very curious to know if this is heard of commonly or not, and if it is a serious problem. Thank you!
I found a dime size painless lump under my jaw line on the right side. I have allergies to air irritants but I am not currently suffering from the symptoms and I don't have a cold. The left side has no lumps. Please help. (although no blood relation i just had a family member diagnosed with cancer in the same area) So I am very worried. Please Help.
But I have a bad cold at the moment and now the entire right side of my jaw is terribly sore, when I feel the lump under my jaw, it now hurts. I don't know if this is a swollen gland? I usually assume the worst and think cancer although I know it can't be true. If anybody knows what this might be it would help. My parents don't take my jaw issues seriously and probably won't take me to the doctor any time soon..
i have a lump under my ear behind the corner of my jaw andit hurts all the way to the front of my ear. not in it the front. and its way under the skin what can i do?
It was the size of a medium-sized egg, but now it has spread out like an pancake. I also discovered a hard lump under my left jaw this past February (almost where the curve of jaw is). It's grown a little since I first discovered it (it was about the size of the tip of a fingernail at first), now it's about the size of a large pea, hard as bone, immoveable.
hi,i have a small lump under the left jawline it is painful and causeing my ear to hurt and the muscle surrounding the area i have had this for about 5 weeks now, the pain comes and gos but for the past 3 days it has been more intense and lasting for longer periods of time, please help if you have ever had this before and had a diagnosis
I have this small lump behind my left jaw line and under ear for almost 1 years now, it does feel pain and uncomfortable, I went the 2 different ENT doctors and did 2 CT scan, one with ink one without both report come out nothing....... but the small pain and feeling it still there also feel pain infront of my ear and inside mouth around jaw join but open or close jaw doen't feel pain. So should I try a different ENT again?? or can this be cancer?? what should I do now??
It is significantly larger than my left side. I also developed a lump between my ear and jaw. (same side) It is not something that is easily felt from the outside by others. However, I can feel it and move it around. It hurts to do so though. After six months of on and off again low grade fevers of 99-100 degrees (my normal temp is 97.8 - 98) I went to a walk in clinic. The doctor ran a blood test on me and determined that my blood work was fine. they thought I was okay.
I would say swollen lymph node, as well, though this doesn't always have to be painful. Is the lump soft and moveable, or hard? The swelling under the right ear may very likely be a lymph node, too...but it doesn't make sense that it would disappear 15 minutes after you have eaten. Have you had either of these things evaluated by a doctor, potentially a specialist like an ENT?
Hello, I am a 42 year old female and about 2 weeks ago I noticed a tender spot under my lower jaw bone. It became increasingly tender and then I noticed a lump on the bone under the lower jaw and it is hurting more and more. It seems to be growing as well. Now when I look in the mirror it looks like that area is swollen but if you touch you can feel the hard lump on the jaw bone. It doesn't move around and it has become so painful it hurts if I yawn or clear my throat.
It's painful to yawn and to fully open my mouth. There is now a small bump located directly under my ear, behind my earlobe on my neck inbetween my jaw line and the large muscle on the right side of my neck, that little soft spot or pocket inbetween the skull and jaw.... The pain is moving into my ear and causing me to have headaches all through the day all on the right side of my head. Any ideas what this could be from? Is it worth going to the doctor for or should it go away?
No significant findings for me either. I did notice that when I press my finger between my jaw and mastoid, under my ear I can feel a hard mass, which the Dr. has assured me from the CT scan is my "Spinal Process". I can only feel this mass on the left side. I was terrified of C also, but have had every blood test, tangible, and visual inspection possible. I'm starting to think my neck vertebrae has shifted or twisted, causing all this.
In one of my ears before my ear canal I have a lump that is not visible, but you can easily feel it's rather a huge bump. I have had pimples in my ear before, but they usually have popped. This lump doesn't pop like a zit; however, when I do try popping it, the lump bleeds a little and nothing happens. My ear really hurts because of the lump and all the pressure inside. I can feel the pain by just moving my jaw to talk.
I developed this lump under my skin near my right ear/jawline. It has been present for approximately 3 months and has doubled in size and is now approximately the size of a quarter. It started during a shingles episode, although I did not have a shingles outbreak in this part of my body. However, it started as neck fullness in that area which developed into a lump along my jaw line area that has persistently gotten larger over the past 3 months.
About a month later there was swelling next to my jaw bone under that tooth and a hard lump which wasn't extremely painful but tender to the touch. I figured it would go away which it did but has come back bigger than before and very hard like bone. The swelling goes away slowly but the hard part stays there next to my jaw bone. I am seeing an ear, nose and throat doc. who is requiring a panorex be done so he can see what it looks like.
FOR THE PAST 2 MONTHS I HAVE HAD THIS LUMP ON THE RIGHT SIDE JUST BELOW THE EAR RIGHT ON THE JAWLINE, YOU CANT SEE IT BUT YOU CAN FEEL IT. IF I RUN MY FINGERS OVER IT, IT IS MOVABLE. I WENT TO MY REG DOC AND HE SAID HE THOUGHT IT WAS MY PAROTID GLAND AND SENT ME TO SEE AN ENT. THE ENT SAID HE DIDNT SEE ANY REASON TO WORRY BUT I AM WORRIED.....WHAT COULD THIS BE.....IM JUST AFRAID IT IS A TUMOR OR CANCER.....PLEASE HELP.
I have a painful lump about the size of which is both moveable and hard, located right below my right earlobe just above the jaw where it curves to meet the ear. Though the lump is hard sometimes I swear the area around it is squishy. I've have a low white blood cell count, itching, nech aches esp. that area and below that are on my neck. Sometimes my chest hurts but I don't know if it's related to this. I'm really not sure what could be related to this. I've seen a Doc.
i looked where it hurt and there is a hard bump/lump behind her ear on the bone part (not on the ear itself). i touched it and it hurts. it's about as big as an eraser on top of a pencil or a pea. it is not red or anything (skin color). i get very worried about these kind of things and will give her dr. a call but in the mean time i was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to what it may be? like i said, i am worried.
ABOUT 5 WEEKS AGO I NOTICED I HAD SOME PAIN IN MY RIGHT JAW AND EAR AND A PRETTY SMALL RUBBERY MOVING LUMP ABOUT AN INCH UNDER MY RIGHT EAR.THE LUMP IS NOT NOTICEABLE BUT YOU CAN FEEL IT. I WENT TO THE DOCTOR AND HE GAVE ME A Z-PAC FOR 5 DAYS WHICH DID NOTHING. I WENT BACK TO THE DOC A COUPLE DAYS AGO AND HE SAID HE THOUGHT IT WAS A SALIVARY GLAND.
I'm a 24 year old female-A couple of months ago I woke up with a painful pea to marble sized lump under the skin on my ear. It is located right where my ear connects to my head, on the bottom. Like if I were to pull my earlobe away from my head, it is in that "flap" of skin. Because it was painful and hard, I assumed it was a boil as I have had these in the past. I treated it with warm washclothes and heating pads, but the lump never softened or drained, however, the pain did go away.
Now I have this swollen lymph node under my R ear just behind my jaw bone...and my ear feels weird also. I pray am not getting another migraine...they are pretty much when I ovulate and b4 I start my period and maybe a couple in the month sporadically. I had a car accident and caused serious damage to my lower back and neck, i have CONSTANT needle pricking in my toes and numbness in both hands and feet 24/7. Went to the hospital....
I have been experiencing a dull but constant pain under my right ear for almost a year now. If I push or massage the hard lump ( cervical lymph ) under my ear and massage upward toward the ear lobe and slowly open my mouth at the same time, I can feel drainage down my throat and I hear a cracking noise ( not every time, just more often than not ). It also feels most of the time as if I am tightening the muscles around my ear as someone would to wiggle the ears but I am not tightening them.
HI 4 weeks ago i had painfull glands come up under my jaw line and throat area , they have since gone down . this left me with discomfort that i am aware of under my jawline and in my throat and neck area . I recently found a small lump under my left ear. People are telling me different things like maybe its a swollen gland from an infection or an in grown hair. I feel fine. There are no symptoms of anything....just this lump. Its painless and about the size of a bean. Its not hard. i havent visited the doctor yet because im not sure if this is serious enough for a doctor but i am worried. i am 16 years old. What could it be?
I went to rub my ear this morning and noticed a small lump at the hinge of my jaw, directly under my earlobe that is painful to press on. I was just at my dentist and he didn't notice anything unusual so I'm wondering if this is not a detail issue but a gland issue. Does anyone know what this could be? And will it go away or should I see a doctor or dentist? Thanks in advance for your help.
