lump under ear behind jaw

i have a lump under my ear behind the corner of my jaw andit hurts all the way to the front of my ear. not in it the front. and its way under the skin what can i do?

I have this small lump behind my left jaw line and under ear for almost 1 years now, it does feel pain and uncomfortable, I went the 2 different ENT doctors and did 2 CT scan, one with ink one without both report come out nothing....... but the small pain and feeling it still there also feel pain infront of my ear and inside mouth around jaw join but open or close jaw doen't feel pain. So should I try a different ENT again?? or can this be cancer?? what should I do now??

m a 24 year old female-A couple of months ago I woke up with a painful pea to marble sized lump under the skin on my ear. It is located right where my ear connects to my head, on the bottom. Like if I were to pull my earlobe away from my head, it is in that "flap" of skin. Because it was painful and hard, I assumed it was a boil as I have had these in the past. I treated it with warm washclothes and heating pads, but the lump never softened or drained, however, the pain did go away.

My take on this is that what ever this lump or knot is behind my ear has nothing to do w/any salivatery gland, because the lump is behind the ear and not in my mouth. As to the swelling I feel that its to the lump behind my hear that is causing my jaw muscle and neck muscle to swell, as a defense to the lump behind my ear. I am also feeling numbness in my L. side of my face, lip and arm which she said is a nuero issue.

Not affecting eye sight or any symtoms linked to it. Found softish non moveable lump behind ear feels like its attached to jaw bone. But if i open mouth or turn head lump disapears.... Most symtoms popped up after i found that lump behind ear i was thinking most of my symtoms could be caused by anxiety and depression because i had no problems before i found it ... If it is cancer i wont get treated by kemo or radiation i will posibly do surgery...

Hi, My husband is 42 yrs old, and 2 weeks ago noticed a FIRM (not rock hard) oval lump around 1.3cm by1.8cm behind his left ear. It's a hard place to explain,It is right in that soft spot directly under the earlobe, right up in the soft bit where the crease is right up near ear cartilage. Went to Doctors he said its not the paritod gland and he said alhough its firm, it moves slightly he said it was a cyst, he said its smooth and oval .

Hi, just last night, I was laying in bed, and rolled to my right side, and as I turned my head over on my pillow, I noticed it was painful. Today. I've noticed it all day, there is a slight lump on the right side under my jaw. It is moveable, and isn't excruciating just yet. When I apply pressure, or face my head downwards, it gets very sore. I am very curious to know if this is heard of commonly or not, and if it is a serious problem. Thank you!

I have this lump in my neck about 2-3 years behind my jaw bone and under my ear ..I brought to my gp years ago n he said probly a cyst never gave me any trouble ....but now ...I was admitted to hospital a few weeks back in horrific pain in my jaw n felt like this lump was exploding in my neck ...no amount of pain relief would take it away I was practically unconscious from all of it ...anyways pain has subsided but still there ...

hello. i am a 20 year old Male. i have a nickel sized lump behind my Letf) ear. and had it since i was 13. i got up one morning and it was just there?. anyhow i now am starting to get my wisdom teeth in. No bottoms just the Right Top one is almost fully in. it Doesn't hurt but reciently the lump behind my (Left) ear is starting to hurt And i wonder if this could be cause'd from the wisdom tooth? i went to the clinic a few months ago for the tooth And the Doctor said.

s painful to yawn and to fully open my mouth. There is now a small bump located directly under my ear, behind my earlobe on my neck inbetween my jaw line and the large muscle on the right side of my neck, that little soft spot or pocket inbetween the skull and jaw.... The pain is moving into my ear and causing me to have headaches all through the day all on the right side of my head. Any ideas what this could be from? Is it worth going to the doctor for or should it go away?

I found a dime size painless lump under my jaw line on the right side. I have allergies to air irritants but I am not currently suffering from the symptoms and I don't have a cold. The left side has no lumps. Please help. (although no blood relation i just had a family member diagnosed with cancer in the same area) So I am very worried. Please Help.

I also have a lump under my zygomatic arch, with a thick tendon or muscle stretching down to the angle of the jaw under my ear. Involuntary smiler/clencher due to social anxiety since childhood, so I think this is the result. I've been offered a contrast MRI but had one three years ago for a neck injury and they saw nothing in the zygomatic region then. Not sure I want more gadolinium injected just to get the same assessment. Any details are appreciated.

Okay I asked about this like 2 years ago and kinda forgot about it and it hasnt bothered me since! And all of a sudden I've worried about it again! I have a node/gland on each side of my jaw! If you look at a diagram of where the nodes/glands are its kinda where the submandibular glands are on each side! It's literally identical on both sides too! If I push up under my jaw behind where my teeth are sort of thing!

I have discovered that there is a lump right under the ear where the jaw connects. That whole side of my face is swollen, hot and painful. It is also triggering headaches and causing the muscles from my jaw and all the way to my left shoulder to swell! One other thing I have noticed is that a small part of my left side of my tongue is going numb. Should I be at the doctors tomorrow or the emergency? I don't smoke, don't drink, I don't take any illegal drugs.

I think I know what you are talking about. I too have lumps, just under the ear behind my jaw bone. It was always a very tender spot for me on each side. I noticed the left side bump was way larger than the other side. And the left side would often give me sharp random pains now and then. I asked many doctor's what could be here causing this? No one could really answer my question with confidence.

Hello, I am a 42 year old female and about 2 weeks ago I noticed a tender spot under my lower jaw bone. It became increasingly tender and then I noticed a lump on the bone under the lower jaw and it is hurting more and more. It seems to be growing as well. Now when I look in the mirror it looks like that area is swollen but if you touch you can feel the hard lump on the jaw bone. It doesn't move around and it has become so painful it hurts if I yawn or clear my throat.

About 5 months ago I noticed a little smaller than a pea (I would actually have to feel around for it) beside my jaw bone under my ear lobe. Now it is about 1cm maybe a little smaller but deffinatly bigger than it was 5 months ago. I have no pain associated with it and no sxs of infection or illness. I feel very healthy and well. I do not have any issue with my salvary system AEB no excessive mouth watering or pain when i think or eat lemons and salty things.

t always have to be painful. Is the lump soft and moveable, or hard? The swelling under the right ear may very likely be a lymph node, too...but it doesn't make sense that it would disappear 15 minutes after you have eaten. Have you had either of these things evaluated by a doctor, potentially a specialist like an ENT?
