I'm 22 years old and I've recently noticed a lump that is about 1 cm in diameter under my chin, back towards the neck. It seems to be round. I first noticed it because my neck felt tender and the ear on that same side ached slightly. You can't notice it by looking. To feel the lump you have to push up under the chin near the neck, and then it pops out. I'm able to move the lump to my jawline. It's very, very mobile.
Hello. I am a 15 year old male and I am very concerned right now. About a month and a half ago, i noticed a lump under my chin and above my adam's apple. I was concerned so I went to my doctor. He explained the whole thing about how lymph nodes work and stuff. He also said it doesn't have characteristics that should be a concern. It was not rough, it was pea sized, and round. He said it should go down in about 2 weeks.
I have a swollen lump under my chin/tongue area as well as a very red (disgusting looking) throat.......what is it and what should i do???
P.S. I hate doctors, clinics, and hospitals.....any home remedies perhaps???

Nancy, you get a lump under your chin when you have a sore throat because you have a lymph node there, which swells due to your immune system fighting an infection. You also have lymph nodes under your arms and near your groin. Though I do not believe there are any in the area Mommy2B is describing. I think she is referring to her pubic synthesis. It could be inflamed due to strained ligaments, but I am not very familiar with the attachments in the area.
I recently noticed that when I put my chin to my chest, I could feel a lump or something on the left side of under my jawbone. I felt around, and I can't really feel anything unusual when my head is upright. Or rather, I can feel something smooth there, but I think I always had it on both sides. But when I tilt my head forwards and poke my fingers underneath my jawbone I can feel a small lump that I can "move" to the chin side of my jawbone quite easily.

Recently I found a small soft lump in my throat under my chin at my jaw line. I have had a sore throat and then I notice the lump. My sore throat went away but the lump is still there. The permanent sutures that were left inside seemed to cause my tissue in my throat under my chin to swell out like a bullfrog. I mean huge and my previuosly flat jawline became rounded and jowly. I had a ct scan done and showed a mass of irritated tissue. My PS performed a second surgery 3 months after the first to remove the permanent sutures.
i have a pea size lump under my chin its been nearly over a year.. iv been for an ultrasound and the doctor said i am very lean thats why i can feel them . am fit and healthy age 20 the submental lymp node hasnt grown its stays the same size. but iv got one in my armpit and both each side of my groin.. could it been anything serious help please?

However, when I do that, it seems as though a day or two later, the lump hardens, and it takes weeks, if not months to go away.
