Common Questions and Answers about Lump under chin near throat

lump

that go up and down. The top one is up under my chin and looks like a man's adam's apple, and then there's two just underneath it, with the bottom most one right above my collar bone. I can feel the entire thyroid, starting at the base of my neck and going all the way up to just under my chin - where incidentally I seem to have developed a double chin out of the blue.
Recently I found a small soft lump in my throat under my chin at my jaw line. I have had a sore throat and then I notice the lump. My sore throat went away but the lump is still there. Sometimes I have pain in my throat near the lump but it only lasts a second and then goes away. It's on the right side of my face, nothing on the left. Should I be alarms or does it just sound like swollen lymph node?? Help!!
i just found a lump under my chin near my throat that is quite painful to touch- is this something to worry about or could it just be a swollen gland?

lymph nodes (1 on each side) have somewhat grown a little in size, and lump under my chin changes its size too. What on earth could it be? The lump is pretty hard and has a kind of palpable <1 cm thick wire directin downwards to near my adams apple.
I have like a little lump under my skin just under my chin kinda near my throat. It is not sore or anything, i just don't know what it is. It kind of tickles every so often (not totally sure if thats from the lump or something else) I suck my thumb (I know..) which i think could have something to do with it... It is smaller than a pea, hard, and does not protrude but if i tilt my head back and run my fingers over it i can feel it.
Now it's back and I also relized that I have a small lump close to my saliva gland (right side). It's a small (peas sized) lump and it's softer. My ear and chin (throat up to ear area) sometimes ache and hurt and I cough in different times meaning at no specific time of the day, the cough gets worse. I've visited an ENT specialist and he couldn't find anything. I went to my family doctor and he couldn't find anything.
I noticed 2 lumps in the front of my neck..each side of the throat area, under the chin..they seem about the size of a cherry tomato and they are evenly spaced from each other. Are those normal or do they need to be checked? What are they called? Lymph nodes? I had thought they were suppose to be there. I don't know how long they have been like that...could be always or just a few weeks. They aren't sore...but my neck is sore near that huge, long, muscles going along the sides of my neck.
I went to the doctor 3 days ago and they said it was a throat infection and the lumps were just lymph nodes. I dont see how a throat infection would give me headache and earach. He gave me antibiotics but they dont seem to be helping. I am going back to the doctor tomorrow as I am very scared now. Please can anyone give me some advice as to what this might be???
and down to under my chin towards my neck/throat and when i try to swallow it hurts and it feels like a lump or something under my chin and all that soft tissuey stuff under the tongue is starting to get sore as well. but no tongue pain. and its also spread up towards my ear. and This morning, i noticed that the inside and bottom of my jaw is swollen hurts so bad. i am totally miserable. I just fund a small pea size lump just to the right of my neck about 1 inch under my chin. It is not sore - I feel fine and when I pinch the skin I can hold the lump in my fingers. I am calling my dr. tomorrow. Any advice out there??
The initial sore throat, 3 years ago, started out feeling like a normal sore throat from a cold, the only difference is that I had a swollen gland directly under my chin in the bottom of my jaw that I have never had before. I have had no other health issues, I am very active, and have noticed no decrease in performance. If anything, in the past three years I have had fewer colds than normal and no serious sore throats.
My glands in my neck are not swollen, but feel sore near my left ear and under my chin sometimes. But not a lot of pain, just a little sore sometimes. And my back has been kind of achy off and on. Finally after about 2 or 3 days of pain on that side, it has gotten much better, but my anxiety has sky rocketed. I can't stop thinking about it, and I keep thinking the IRRATIONAL THOUGHT "What if it's throat cancer!?" But I have to realize this could just be allergies.
But as in my case, very small food particles can still randomly become trapped in your throat somewhere. But this is no where near a big of a problem as when I actually had my tonsils and they were erupted with tonsil stones. So getting my tonsils removed was a huge benefit for me, and would be for anyone with tonsil stones.
The first thing that popped into mind, when I read your post, was a lymph node. My husband has had a benign lump under his ear for a long time. Seems to be an age related thing with him. I know I had some digestive issues post tx, and it was hard not to go over the edge with the 'what ifs' Gratefully those passed.
Its hard to describe but the pain is somewhere under my chin near my neck on the right side, and it hurts every time i tilt my head back or to the left. A friend of my told me to feel around for any lumps but the area feels normal, though it hurts when I push at it. Any advice would be great.
I have had a lump high up in my throat (just at the top where my neck reaches my chin, on the right side). I found this lump at the end of march. It has slowly become more uncomfortable. I went to see my GP back in april and she took some blood and the results were OK but she told me to return if it didn't go away in a few weeks. I returned as it didn't go away and the GP this time examined my neck and told me there was no sign of any infection.
--Pain in front part of throat near thyroid. I have a palpable, hard lump in the front of my throat about halfway down. It feels almost like I'm being strangled. The pain can be so bad I want to cry myself to sleep. I've had 2 endocrinologists confirm it is not thyroid-related pain even though it's near the thyroid. The pain seems to mostly radiate from the area where I feel the palpable lump. An ultrasound showed the lump I feel is a lymph node.
The permanent sutures that were left inside seemed to cause my tissue in my throat under my chin to swell out like a bullfrog. I mean huge and my previuosly flat jawline became rounded and jowly. I had a ct scan done and showed a mass of irritated tissue. My PS performed a second surgery 3 months after the first to remove the permanent sutures.
I have had the muscle under my chin cramp up on me about 4 times while yawning. I had to massage the muscle a little to relieve the cramp. Now the muscle under the chin just feels a bit crampy - not right. Also while completely relaxed in bed before falling asleep I'll feel a shaking feeling in my throat, upper chest area. I'm not sure if this is a throat fasiculation, an esophogeal spasm, or if the portion of my tongue that is in my throat is shaking?
I have minor partial lower left lip paralysis( only in one small location right next to the corner of my lower lip on left side) and seroma under my chin. My chin and jaw area were previously nicely contoured and only beginning to show signs of aging particularly when looking down. Now after my surgery to improve my looks I have no jaw line and my angle from chin to neck is about 45 degrees and I have had the seroma drained twice in one week thus far but it immediately fills up again.
I'm still profusely sweating sometimes when I shouldn't even be sweating (like if I'm feeling cold), and my lymph nodes under my chin, near my groin, and near my armpits still feel swollen. Having what I think is a cold isn't helping any of this, either. My nose runs a lot and my headaches are worse...and my throat is a little sore at times. Normally, I just feel the lump in the throat. I hope something shows up in my bloodwork, already...it's about time it does.
About 6 months ago I noticed a small lump, about 1 cm in diameter, around where the submandibular lymph nodes are supposed to be, just under my jaw line, halfway between my chin and ear on the left side. It is firm, smooth, non-tender, and most interestingly, fixed into the muscle. Note that it is not technically enlarged according to most standards I've read about. I found something "similar" on the other side, so I did not think much of it, just watched it closely.
I'm really, really tired, but I slept on and off from 2am - 10 or 11am this morning -Essential tremor--it's still there, and it's still making me shake in both arms equally right now -Swelling on right side of neck, some soreness but likely from sitting in odd positions while staring at a computer screen for several hours -Difficulty swallowing--there's a definite lump in my throat, or something compressing the area near my tonsils, and near my thyroid -Oral thrush--a result of the antibiotics
The reason for the CT Scan is because currently the left side of my neck under the chin is swollen and tender to the touch and it burns like *ELL. You can feel a lump there, even my primary doctor feels it. The swelling in my neck is noticeable to all. The only thing the CT Scan showed were lymph nodes, but did not appear to be swollen, and they found thyroid tissue. I had a Ultra Sound done about a month ago on the neck to see if i had thyroid tissue, and it came back negative.
I had burning in my chest and throat. I was told it was probably acid reflux and was given Prilosec. All of the symptoms went away on day 2 of taking Prilosec and I was OK until day 4. By then, I had this tightness feeling around my neck and my jaw hurt. I went to an E.N.T. and he said I had a TMJ problem and prescribed 40mg of prednisone for 3 days.
i have not been tested i do not know if i have cancer, but lately i have feel pain in my chest having difficulty to breath when i walk up the stair and pain over my neck under the chin and jaw.. also have swollen lymph nodes under my lower jaw feel pain in ear some time do i have lung cancer or throat and oral cancer ? what kind of test do i need to do? blood xray or ? please advise..
He started having pain on the left side of his head between the temple and the ear and when he lays down at night the gland in his throat near his esophogus(?) swells and hurts to swallow. It mostly bothers him at night when he lays down. He has been on Baclofen and carbamazepine and it does help some nights but some nights the pain still wakes him and he gets up and walks around until the pain lessens. I don't want him to wait to long if it could be something serious.
