I believe it's in the submandibular region. It's above my adam's apple, under my chin slightly to the left (my left).. When I feel it, it feels like it starts out very thin, and then starts to expand outwards.. the widest section of the lump is no larger than my thumb..and the general length in total is less than my thumb.. It feels quite hard, doesn't move that freely. And is not on the other side.. I noticed it one week ago and it has not subsided at all..
I recently noticed that when I put my chin to my chest, I could feel a lump or something on the left side of under my jawbone. I felt around, and I can't really feel anything unusual when my head is upright. Or rather, I can feel something smooth there, but I think I always had it on both sides. But when I tilt my head forwards and poke my fingers underneath my jawbone I can feel a small lump that I can "move" to the chin side of my jawbone quite easily.
I can't really describe where it is. It's under his chin to the left (if you're looking at him). If I touch it, it's hard. It's oval shape and quite big but not noticeable unless you are at the right angle, even then it's not THAT noticeable. It's underneath the skin. He keeps saying it's a tumour but I actually think it is! He won't go to the doctors, could anybody tell me what it is?!

i just had the flu for about a week, i have a lump under my chin on the left side, in my groin and in my armpit. i'm scared it may be lymphoma considering my brother was diagnosed with the disease 4 years ago. is it normal to have swollen lymph nodes after the flu? and also what are the odds of myself having lymphoma considering my brother had hodgkins disease?
I have a shi-tzu/pom mix and just notice a golf sized lump under her chin yesterday and I shaved the area to see if I could see anything like a sting bite or maybe she scratched her neck and got it in fected....nothing there. Im bringing her to the vet first thing and I'll let everyone know what he says about it. Hoping its not a tumor.
my husband has a lump under the skin on the point of its chin (not under, on, and towards the left). It's diameter is between 1/3 and 1/2 of an inch. He says it has grown to that size over a period of a month and then stabilized. It is not painful, no sign of redness, hard and pebble-like to the touch, moving under the skin (not attached to the bone). He dismissed it as a lipoma (he has many on his body), but he is at last having this checked by a dermatology in a few weeks.
but on another note he reccomended a biopsy on the lump under my chin he believes it be a lymph node...WHAT COULD THIS INDICATE? ARE THESE SYMPTOMS OF CANCER? LONG TERM INFECTION?I JUST NEED SOME ANSWERS ANY ADVISE WOULD BE APPRECIATED THANKS.

Mouth feels better today, still have swelling to back of throat and dryness. Dentist had a look in mouth and said everything looks ok. Checked lump under my chin and thought it could be extra piece of bone growth, or perhaps from a bang when I was a child, but feels best to check it out. I explained that since Monday one of my top teeth had been hurting (3rd tooth along in the mouth, left side). I have had a previous root filling in this tooth.
I can't fall asleep unless I'm on my stomach, head turned right on the pillow and left arm under the pillow like I'm sleeping on my left shoulder/bicep area with the pillow as a cushion. Now also, I've been gaining weight over the years and have a pot belly now. So how many of you also have some belly fat as well?

Yesterday I found a lump on the left side of my neck. It is more under my chin a little way away from my jaw bone. Basicly right were my chin comes down and connects to my next. However you have to push hard to be able to feel it and you don't always feel it. There is nothing like this on the other side. Do you have any ideas of what could be wrong?
Nancy, you get a lump under your chin when you have a sore throat because you have a lymph node there, which swells due to your immune system fighting an infection. You also have lymph nodes under your arms and near your groin. Though I do not believe there are any in the area Mommy2B is describing. I think she is referring to her pubic synthesis. It could be inflamed due to strained ligaments, but I am not very familiar with the attachments in the area.
I too have a lump that is growing larger and larger on my left number 5&6 ribs. It is under my left breast and is now becoming unbearable. I was just put on pain medicine and will be having a CT scan asap. Never feel intimidated by a dr about your health. It's your body and you know if something is wrong. I am beginning to feel like i have trouble taking deep breaths. I just cannot get my ribs to expand for a huge breath. I was asked if there was a history of cancer in the family .
Hi, A few weeks ago I noticed that I had a small hard lump under my chin, in the soft area in the middle of the underside of my jaw. It is a lump I had noticed on previous occasions, in previous years, but which is not always noticeable. I now believe that it may be a lymph node (at present it is unnoticeable, having shrank). Around a week later I noticed a small hard lump behind my ear - just under a centimetre in diameter and literally in the crease between my ear lobe and my neck.
Now, in the last 2 weeks, I have gotten large, very painful lumps ranging from pea to dime size, cyst-like lumps on my chin line under my goatee. After about three days of their presents(I know you shouldn't do this)I applied pressure and a hair literally shot straight out of a pore like a dart leaving about 1/16 of it in the skin which slid right out when I pulled it. It was coated with a waxy, pus looking build up.
I was dx in June 2013 and Dr oro done surgery Sept 24 2013. It has been a blessing. But now 5 months post op I have a lump, bump, knot, whatever under incision. I went to er and they said soft tissue swelling. (I recently moved to Iowa and haven't found dr here yet.) Now I did pull my left neck muscle the big one from chin to sternum like 1 or 2 months post op idk how just weak I guess. And yeah I think I reinjured it again too bc its flared up and that when swelling started but....
I have a bump under my skin on my left arm, about a centimeter large. It feels like a pebble. Also Have them in these locations. Right arm on the palm side, smaller then the one on my left arm, something kind of like a pebble under my chin bone my right temple, theres a pebble feeling bump that moves around. the one on my right arm used to ache. not anymore. Should I be worried? is a dermatologist the right person to go to?
3 hours ago a hard lump about golf ball size appeared under my jaw, left side between chin and ear. Not painful to touch, but slight discomfort swallowing. It seems to go up and down in size.
that go up and down. The top one is up under my chin and looks like a man's adam's apple, and then there's two just underneath it, with the bottom most one right above my collar bone. I can feel the entire thyroid, starting at the base of my neck and going all the way up to just under my chin - where incidentally I seem to have developed a double chin out of the blue.
I Have a lump under my chin to the left hand side its very painful recently and swollen and hurts very much when i look up wards etc.
a few days ago i noticed a large lump under a small mole on my chin i thought it was a pimple and it was extremely painful so i attempted to squeeze it it only became worse and more swolen and started to bleed i am very concerned to what it may be. It is a very hard lump causing the whole left side of my chin to be swolen and even touching it lightly causes immense pain.

I have had a sore throat and then I notice the lump. my sore throat went away but the lump is still there. Sometimes I have pain in my throat near the lump but it only lasts a second and then goes away. It's on the right side of my face, nothing on the left. Should I be alarms or does it just sound like swollen lymph node?? Help!!
