Common Questions and Answers about Lump under chin gland

lump

Hey i am an 18 year old male. I have had a small round lump under my chin ( not near my Adam's apple...It's more towards the underside the tongue) for more than a year. Like most men i am hesitant to see a doctor about it, and just brush it off. But it's been there for so long now that i am starting to get really worried about it. When i first found it it seemed like an inflammation because it got pretty big for a while, but then shrunk in size and has remained that way since.
UNDER MY CHIN TO THE LEFT A BIT I FEEL A TINY LUMP, DOENST MOVE, AN DOESNT HURT, ADN I HAVENT BEEN SICK WHATSOEVER AND I JUST FUND IT TODAY, KIND OF WORREIS ME. ANY IDEAS WHAT I MAY BE. I OF XOURSE THINK OF CANCER RIGHT AWAY?
I have a tender lump under my chin. It is a little larger than a quarter. What could it be?
I recently noticed that when I put my chin to my chest, I could feel a lump or something on the left side of under my jawbone. I felt around, and I can't really feel anything unusual when my head is upright. Or rather, I can feel something smooth there, but I think I always had it on both sides. But when I tilt my head forwards and poke my fingers underneath my jawbone I can feel a small lump that I can "move" to the chin side of my jawbone quite easily.

I got to look in mirror and didn't see anything. Then a instant sudden lump started forming under my chin on my neck throat area. It felt like a tumor but would think tumor just doesn't pop up like that. The lump went down about 15 min after it formed. It hurt under my back tongue to open my mouth but that went down as well. What could this be.? Extremely weird that the lump formed then went away. What you think the sudden lump that formed is? Not cancer i hope.

A few days ago, I went to rest my chin on my hand, and I noticed a vague bruise-like pain just under my chin. When I touched just under my chin, seemingly attached to the right side of the chin bone, just to the right of that center line where the two sides of the lower jaw meet, I felt a very hard, immobile bump. It will not budge---I've pressed on it with all my might from each side and from straight up; it's hard as bone, but I cannot tell if it's definitely attached to the jaw/chin.
i just found a lump under my chin near my throat that is quite painful to touch- is this something to worry about or could it just be a swollen gland?
I recently felt what feels like a lump under my sternum, it feels like its connected to my sternum and only way i even relized he was there was because i was feeling around my stomach area one day. It really doesnt bother me but lately ive been noticing it more and more. I dunno if its all in my head just because i found it. Im just wondering if I should go see a doctor, ive read of the xiphoid process and im not sure if thats what it is.

I just noticed maybe a couple days ago that i have a lump right under my chin that feels like it is coming off of my jaw bone, I was just wondering if that could be a swollen gland or possible something else? I haven't really had any other issues other then being a little more tired then normal, but that could just be stress. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I took him for a recheck on 1/7/10 and while I was waiting in the vets office, I noticed a lump on his right side under his chin. The vet was unsure of what it could be, he said if more develop to bring him right back or if it got a lot bigger. Otherwise he wants to see him in another month. The next day, the lump seemed a little bigger and the day after that it seemed to chang a little bit, it was still as big but not some much a mass, I felt like I could actually grab it.
I have a swollen gland under my chin on my right side and a swollen gland under my tongue for about a week and a half,it is very painful when i eat and i'm tired of the pain any sugestions i really need help before going to the doctor
My 18 yr. old daughter just made me aware of a hard tiny pea sized lump under her skin... chin/throat area. It does not move and is slightly sore to the touch. Have to really push and feel around to find it. As a lot of people, when it comes to my child's health I would like to get it thoroughly check out. But, we have a very high deductible to be able to afford the monthly health premium and would have to pay cash for all the tests/biopsies. And cash in quite a shortage right now.
3 hours ago a hard lump about golf ball size appeared under my jaw, left side between chin and ear. Not painful to touch, but slight discomfort swallowing. It seems to go up and down in size.
A few months ago I noticed a small lump under my jawline, very close to the tip of my chin. I don't think it's changed in size very much over time, but a few days a rash also appeared in the exact same place. I checked with my doctor before and she said to come back if it changes size, but I'm wondering if I should go back in because of this rash?
To back up a bit, I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism at the age of 22 and then figured out the cause of the hypothyroidism was Hashimoto Thyroiditis at the age of 28. Well, over the years nodules were found on both sides of my gland and were monitored. About 6 months ago during my annual exam they noticed my gland was extremely enlarged and my nodules were abnormally large. Well, we ran all the tests and did a needle biopsy. The report came back as suspicious.
Hi You have noted that the swelling seems to be located under his chin. This may be a swollen salivary gland, an infected space in the neck (The neck has several subdivisions and these pockets may be infected) , a gum problem, or a lymph node problem. An ENT specialist may be able to help. You may ask your doctor about this so that proper referrals may be made. Was an ultrasound of the neck done? Were the neck vessels assessed? Carotidynia has to be ruled out here.
I have been having this pain at the base of my skull at the back of my neck. I do have a lump that seems to be growing downwards under my jawline. AT the time of the ultrasound, I am not going to lie, my mouth was just a going. It is a small town we live in and the guy that did my ultrasound was a good friend and our kids were not getting along and I had to tell the reason for why I felt like I did, but in the meantime could've jepordized the procedure.
** Then a instant sudden lump started forming under my chin on my neck throat area.** It felt like a tumor. The lump went away about 15 min after it formed. It hurt under my back tongue to open my mouth but that went down as well. What could this be.? Ive had soreness before in the same area under my chin thats kinda on my neck that it swelled up on at work that came and went but its not like a sore throat feeling but more like bruise feeling sore inside.
My son felt a burning flow of maybe acid reflux stuff in neck directly under his chin where the tounge is on the right side. He then felt pain & burning from that area travel to the fenulum( under tounge) & a lump appeared that is very painful, could this be a salivatory gland issue? He can not even eat yogurt or the discomfort is almost unbearable. This happened as he was eating ice cream, don't know if that is related or not.
I felt around my jaw and noticed a palpable lump underneath my right jawline about the area where my submandibular gland is located. After feeling the lump I've been a mess and it hasn't went away. It's still very noticeable and doesn't really hurt, but sometimes gives off a slight noticeable pain feeling. I had no other symptoms. After having the lump for 3 weeks, I saw my GP and she said my throat, ears and nose looked clear.
About a week after my bandages came off I developed on the left side under my chin towards the top of my neck. My surgeon at first said it was pooling blood and would eventually dissipate. Later he said this was a salivary gland. It had not been there before though he thought it may have been hidden under fat and loose skin. Several days after my bandages came off I had a sneezing fit due to allergies and felt as though something 'popped' at the time.
my doctor told me that its not serious, it will go down on its own, and actually found another small one under my chin and said it was teh same thing (i didnt' even notice that one). he said that if i get more or they get bigger, or get a fever, chills, or headaches, to get it checked again, but most likely it will heal on its own, i could get a permanent bump but its not a big deal. i hope this helps.
