I found a lump under my left armpit. It's beneath the skin. It's rigid. It's about the size of a pea and painful. I also have a lump in the top of my arm which has been there for many months. that lump is a bit small and feels like it's lodged deeper into the skin. It does not hurt. Do I have reason for concern?
I'm not writing to discuss the relative risk involved, but I have been worried about a lump under my right armpit that I found today. I found it accidentally when showering. I wanted to ask about "armpit lymph node swelling." Question ONE: Part ONE: My impression is that swollen lymph node in the armpit are supposed to be deep in the armpit (i.e., in the hollow of the armpit? Is that true? This lump feels like the size of a pea.
2 days ago I woke up with a large lump under my left armpit which is very painful. What should I do? I'm very scared...Could this be Cancer???? I had Ovarian Cancer 18 years ago.
I was 23 years old when I first got a lump under my arm and it got so big and very painful, I went to the doctor and he told me I had an infection in something under my arm, but he punctured the lump and all this pus started coming out. (green pus). He fussed at me saying that this is poisonous and I shouldn't have waited so long to come in. It was from the deodorant and I have tried different brands, different kinds and they all have the same effect.
Hi: I have a lump under my left armpit. It started off as a small lump and has grown to about 2cm. It was a bit painful to touch but after a few days, when squeezed, it drained some pus. It has decreased in size but it is somewhat still there and seems more unmoveable and attached to the skin. It is no longer painful to the touch.
Then it finally opened a little and pus started to come out, so it leaked out and i thought it was done but it came back again and swelled again like 2 months later, now, i released most of the pus but now there is a small hole in my armpit and there is a small piece/lump of tissue it looks like that is sticking out of my armpit, approx 1mm in diameter is the hole and I don't know what I should do, will it heal by itself , is the skin going to grow over it? Do i need stitches?
I am 34 and have an extremely painful large protruding lump under my armpit. I have never had anything like this every before. It is growing rapidly and now changing to a pinkish tone. I went to a doctor and he said it is an infected gland and put me on some antibiotics. He said it should work. It isn't. I work at a job where I am irritating it constanly. It seems to grow more then. Should I get it drained or wait for it to burst on its own? I am worried about the pain of the draining.
Hi Everyone, I'm 31 years old and 21 weeks pregnant. I have this painful lump under my arm that is getting bigger. I have a 21-month-old daughter and when she was 6 months old, I had the same thing and I went to the emergency room because the pain was too much. The doctor gave me antibiotics and said that it was too early to lance it (drain it). I was a bit happy about that because I was afraid of them cutting it open.
I decided to do some reading online and everything I read says that if the lump was painful and moved under the skin it was probably nothing BUT...if it was firm, not painful, stayed in place and grew at a fairly fast rate..it could very well be cancer? Mine is everything they said. I am scared to death! Are my doctors (or their assistants) not too bright? How can they not know what I found out on the internet? They always say that the faster you catch cancer, the better off you are.
I'm 17 and I just noticed a small, red, inflamed lump in my armpit area. Its on my upper armpit, on more my arm. Its red, inflamed, and painful. It feels like there may be a pus pocket under the skin, and it worries me because two of my friends have recently been hospitalized for abscesses, and I'm afraid I may have one. Can anyone give me an idea of what it may be?
(..... and im scared....alot of people think it is cancer.... :/... bye!

It is visible and painful. I have had it there for two days now and now some puss is coming out from that. Im hoping its nothing to worry about since there is pain and some puss. Hello, This lump under the armpit can be due to boil caused by infection of the hair follicle by staph aureus. Hair follicles that are blocked by greasy creams, petroleum jelly, or similar products are more vulnerable to infection. Bacterial skin infections can be spread by shared cosmetics or washcloths, close human contact, or by contact with pus from a boil or carbuncle. Apply warm compresses and keep the area clean. Drainage is done only when it becomes soft and forms a head.
Hello, I'm 21 years old and about 4 days ago i started feeling some pain in my right armpit. After feeling it, there wasn't much to feel but over the past 4 days it has developed into 3 hard painful lumps under the skin, no discoloration, slightly larger in size than a pea, and increasing in size and pain everyday. Pain feels like a bruise. It's even hard for me to use my right arm to lift things or just lift my arm for that matter. i haven't had any other symptoms other than this.
Hi im not sure what this is but i have the same thing for about 2 weeks both my armpits have been really painful and i woke up this morning to a lump about a pea size in my left armpit. Ive been reading that it is most likely to be a build up of deodorant or something like that. i've been advised to not touch it and take off my under arm deodorant at night so the pores can breathe, if it hasn't gone in a week then i will visit the dr.
I am 15 years old and I have an inner lump under my armpit and on the outside, there is a bleeding scab with pus coming out....is this cancer? I'm really scared because one of my aunts was recently diagnosed with cancer....

It can be very scary to find a lump in your armpit. However, there are many possible explanations for this, and it is most likely not cancer. It’s impossible to know without examining you in person and learning more about your medical history, but the most likely explanation is that this is a small infection in your armpit. The most common cause of an infection would be a bacterial infection of a hair follicle or gland under the skin. This could lead to a collection of pus (an abscess).

A few days ago I got an itchy red bump under my right armpit and within days the right armpit and upper under arm has several red itchy bumps and the left armpit is also developing a few (not like the right). I have been putting Neosporine and Cortizone cream on it but it does not seem to be getting much better. Any ideas? I am unable to see a doctor for financial reasons at this time. Thank you!
I had a small lump under my skin near my armpit for about two years that remained the same size - about as big as a pea. Three days ago, my girlfriend said it was weird and she wanted to pop it, so she cleaned a needle with alcohol and poked it. When she squeezed it, only a small amount of a hard white substance came out, so I told her to leave it alone. Now, it has grown to the size of a large gumball and hurts very, very bad.

Hi there, Four years ago I got an abscess in my armpit due to an ingrown hair from shaving. It was quite a large round and excruciatingly painful lump (probably the size of a ping pong ball) and it had ALOT of pus come out of it but then it would fill straight back up again overnight. I went and saw my GP and was prescribed antibiotics which eventually cleared it up. It left me with a small hole in my armpit (maybe 5mm wide), which caused the abscess to come back another 3 times.
I also have a pea size lump on the left side under the skin of my vagina .. i ma onli 14 and very worried .. is it any thing serious you think ? .. i am not sexualy active so its nothing to do with sexual infections or anything dont think .... im thinking of going to doctors ... what should i do . please help :( ..
Are you using smelly deodorants at all? The armpit glands can be axtremely sensative to things like that, and can actually cause these ***** infections. If you visit your Dr they will more than likely put you on Antibiotics so I suggest you go visit them pronto since it's not shifting itself. Stop using any form of smellies when you shower and refresh. Now go see your dr!
Though it keeps moving, sometimes it'll be lower down and other times it's right under my armpit. I went to the walk in clinik yesterday with my mum, the doctor ensured us there is nothing to worry about, that if there were anything to worry about it wouldn't hurt. My mum told me to keep an eye on it, and that if it gets anyworse shell book menan appointment with my doctor. Because the doctor I saw wasn't my doctor.
My left breast has one spot, on the side under my armpit where it hurts. I haven't found a lump, but when I touch the side of my breast, i feel a hardened area, and it hurts when I push on it. Anybody has any idea what this could be? I also get the rib pain, and back pain, and only on the left hand side, never on the right.
