Avatar_m_tn I'm a 16 year old male, and i've had a lump under my armpit for about a month now, and i was wondering if anyone could give me any insight as to what it is. It isn't very big, it doesn't hurt, although it can get a bit tender if i mess with it, it's pretty hard, and seems to be under the skin. I read somewhere that using an antiperspirant can cause bumps like this, and i use Mitchum Unscented roll on. Does anyone know if this has any type of connection?
Avatar_m_tn Im a 16 years old male. I noticed a lump under my armpit around 2 months ago, the colour is kind of red. at first it was painful but then it got small and the pain died off. even though the lump got smaller ,it is still there and its not visible anymore, I can still feel it under my skin. i cant move it around and it is stuck to my skin.
Avatar_n_tn I found a lump under my left armpit. It's beneath the skin. It's rigid. It's about the size of a pea and painful. I also have a lump in the top of my arm which has been there for many months. That lump is a bit small and feels like it's lodged deeper into the skin. It does not hurt. Do I have reason for concern?

Avatar_n_tn Are you male or female (Im not going to your links) a lump in armpit could be 1. a cyst, a boil an ingrown hair, an enlarged lymph node or a tumor Most likely at your age one of the first 3 .
Avatar_n_tn at the end of the 2nd day, the lump under the skin of my armp no longer hurts. Now, I just feel a lump. Everything I said above still holds true, particularly the facts that the lump seems to me in the "muscle area" of the armpit, instead of the hollow of the armpit.
Avatar_n_tn My son has a dime sized lump (disc shaped) right under his left nipple. A few notes...His voice is already changing, he's developed muscles and he has armpit hair and the starting of facial hair. He is also asthmatic and has been since he was a baby.
Avatar_m_tn Hi Welcome to the MedHelp forum! A lump in armpit can be a swollen lymphnode, in response to fungal infection or sweat dermatitis or infection of hair follicles. It can also be folliculitis or a hair follicle infection. It can also be an enlarged lymphnode due to malignancy of breast (rare in males but not impossible). At times it is a cyst too and this can get infected. Consult your PCP for an evaluation. A CT scan can be confirmatory or a fine needle biopsy.
Avatar_n_tn I am 34 and have an extremely painful large protruding lump under my armpit. I have never had anything like this every before. It is growing rapidly and now changing to a pinkish tone. I went to a doctor and he said it is an infected gland and put me on some antibiotics. He said it should work. It isn't. I work at a job where I am irritating it constanly. It seems to grow more then. Should I get it drained or wait for it to burst on its own? I am worried about the pain of the draining.

Avatar_n_tn I was in the shower today and I noticed a small beebee sized lump right under the skin in my lower left chest area near the armpit. I don't recall if I've ever felt it before. Should I have this checked out? It's not painful at all. Thanks!
Avatar_n_tn Dear inh: Most male breast cancer presents as a lump in the breast area. lumps under the arm could be related to many things, including an ingrown hair or infection. However, if this is new, it would not hurt to have it evaluated by a physician.
Avatar_n_tn hi im a 16 year old male, recently found a small hard lump under my right armpit which i can move around quite easily, it is not causing any pain at all was just wondering if anyone knew what it may be??
Avatar_n_tn ) Also, 2 days after I had sex with her, I discovered little pimple like item under my left armpit, and one on the right armpit. (It looks somewhat like the sore you get on your neck when you are wearing necklace, it is pink and a small head) An then everyday I discover a new one under my armpit. Now, 2 in a smaller size also show up on my face and one on my arm, and they look more like a misqussto bite. Also, I discover 3 small one around my pubic hair area.
Avatar_n_tn Yes, it is possible it could be breast cancer. It could also be related to something else entirely. The swelling may have indicated an allergy to the deodorant, but the lump ... there is only one. Maybe a cyst, an ingrown hair, an injury to that breast. I don't know. Swollen lymph glands point to something else. Maybe its related to puberty?? It wouldn't hurt to get this checked out by your doctor.
Avatar_m_tn I am a 37 year old male. I have just noticed a 1/4" by 1/4 lump just under my right pectoral on the right of center near armpit. There is no discoloration of skin. The lump is maybe 1/4 deep. It seems to stay attached to tissue. There is no pain when I pinch or touch it. Any ideas what this could be?
Avatar_f_tn Hello, This lump under the armpit can be due to boil caused by infection of the hair follicle by staph aureus. Hair follicles that are blocked by greasy creams, petroleum jelly, or similar products are more vulnerable to infection. Bacterial skin infections can be spread by shared cosmetics or washcloths, close human contact, or by contact with pus from a boil or carbuncle. Apply warm compresses and keep the area clean. Drainage is done only when it becomes soft and forms a head.
Avatar_n_tn You don't state your age,but hormonal changes in teenagers may result in the feeling of a lump under the areolar in one or both breasts (gynecomastia). This can occur in both teenagers and young men too and it's expected to resolve in a few months in the majority of males. Depending on your age, cancer is highly unlikely, male breast cancer is extremely rare until later middle age at the earliest.
Avatar_m_tn As you still have the swellings under your armpits and this "lump" in the crease of your inner thigh, don't forget to mention this to the doctor/urologist and ask if you can have a blood test taken for rule out non-Holdgkins lymphoma. Thanks for the update on how you are getting on, and I am glad to know that you are much better and that you will be seeing your urologist with regard to issues that have not settled down yet.
Avatar_m_tn Just got off crutches and found a hard, movable, completely painless lump about the size of a pea in my armpit, it feels like it's about a 1/4in deep along the tendon of my pectoral muscle, but I can easily move it. What could it be? If it was a lymph node wouldn't it be non-moveable and hurt?
