lump on your neck

I have noticed 1 lump on my neck (not the same one as before). the lump is at the back of my neck, up by the top to the left. The lump is small, pea size, it's sort of hard, it doesn't seem to move that much when pressed, it doesn't hurt that much when I press it down, but I'm sure it did burn a little when I did it not long ago. I am 17, male... Can someone help me out a little ? thanks..

Hello, I have noticed a lump on the back of my neck. It is only on the left side. It is in the area circled in the attached pic. It is scary and i really just want too know if there is a chance it could be nothing to worry about. I had a few random panic attacks a couple months ago, and ever since ive been thinking something is wrong with me. So im hoping that it could be nothing. I hope that its not cancerous. If you could tell me the possibilities, it would be great.

Hi there. about four weeks ago i developed a large red lump on my neck. it was on the right side and is just below the middle of my neck. the red lump went down within a week but has left a small pea sized lump that is hard but painless underneath the skin with no discolouration. could this be a sign of cancer? im thinking cause it came out like a spot it is probaly a boil, but would that leave a lump?

Hello sunday i woke up with a big lump on the back top of my neck by my head.. IT is sore and hurts, today i woke up and i have more little bumps going down my neck and one behined my ear.. i have one that moves on the rt side front of my throat right above my collar bone does anyone have any ideas what it could be?????

my dog has a lump on the side of her neck...not in the middle--more under her cheek. she is a boston terrier and is overweight and has a couple of soft fatty tumors on her body but this lump on her neck is new. I just noticed it today and its abt the size of a golfball, soft and she doesn't cry when i squeeze it gently. what could this be? It doesn't seem to have a head like an abscess would.

However, the lump disappears when I stand up or am sitting down and there is no lump on the other side. Does anyone having ideas what this lump could be?

Detected a lump on the upper right back of neck parallel to ear in the hairline last Fri. Saw my internist past Tue & had ultrasound performed. Report said, “hypoechoic structure measuring 1.9 x 1 x 1.4 cm within the scalp. It says possible lipoma but lymph node not entirely excluded”. I have 3 lipomas on right side of body but since I had Stage 1 melanoma on left side of shoulder a yr ago we are getting me into see the oncologist who removed my melanoma for further eval.

Im 23 years old and i've had a lump on the right side of my neck 4 about 4 months & its been getting bigger in size it ives me reali bad headaches & stabbing pains where the lump is located. The dr. sent me 4 a brain scan and nothing. So he sent me 2 a specialist & hes sendin me 4 a targeted ultrasound. But im so scared because cancer runs in my family. Does anyway know what it could be??? I would appreciate anyones help or input.

My 17 yr old daughter felt a lump on side of neck. Doctor measured it at 1.4cm and ordered an ultrasound. It is hard and rubbery and does not hurt. Ultrasound results state it has grown to 2.6cm x 1.3cm (in 1 month) and has no fatty hilum. Performed at a level 5 in the area of palpable abnormality. Mild increase in vascularity. good Has anyone else had a similar case and what was it? Thank you, in advance, for any replies.

About 5 days ago I noticed a small bean shaped lump on the side of my neck (not between the jagular and sternocelidomastoid muslce), but rather on the sternocleidomastoid muscle itself (I think). I consider myself a bit of a hypochondriac so naturally internet search will reveal the worst. All it takes is 1 negative to throw me off balance completely. I went to my GP and he said I might have lymphedema and sent me off to do a ultrasound of the neck followed by FNA.

My son is four years old and has a lil' lump on his right side of neck it is tiny and soft and moves around , We have had it check out and doctors say its normal, but he has had it for awhile, should I be cocern and seek further? Will he have to have it removed later?

hello, i have had a lump(marble size) on my neck(left side directly below my jawline) and has been there for over 5 years now. Recently it has become extremly painful at times and appears to be getting slightly larger when irritated. 5 years back i was appox 250lbs when i first noticed the lump...now im 150. Over the last 5 years i have developed a major sleeping problem. I can be up for 20-30hrs before needing rest. I have very limited energy and feel constantly weak. Also my appetite is gone.

okay so my partner has a lump on her neck for longer than a few months now i would say,it has not really got larger but still is sensitive to touch... as in sore to touch. is there any insight without going to the doctors?

I have a lump on the right side of my neck under my ear. It is about the size of a strawberry I would say. I have a lump on the bottom of my neck on the left hand side. Every time I rub the lump it hurts really bad and releases tension allowing me to crack my neck. I can't quite figure out what the lump is and if it is harmful. I think its pressing on a nerve. The lump is sometimes swollen and sometimes not. Does anyone know what it could be? My friends dog is a 9 year old cockapoo, and the other day I noticed she had a red bloody spot in her fur behind her head, on the backside of her neck. The lump is about the size of a walnut; hard and leaking small amounts of blood. My friends not sure if the dog scratched it to make it bleed, so she took a close look at the sore spot and gently squeezed it getting more blood and puss out of it. She then washed it with antiseptic wash and covered it.

THe reason, I brought it up is because the type of swelling in neck, does not resemble the lump near the groin, nor the other lumps on my legs. I will have it evaluated, but I am not as anxious as I was before. I was concerned about the groin lump, because it seemed to be in a place near the lymph nodes and I thought that maybe I was wrestling a low grade infection. I do not have a fever or any other signs, so I am not sure that this it.
