Common Questions and Answers about Lump on dog's throat

lump

Avatar n tn Hello Doctor, 8 yo female Siberian Husky Great overall health Last night I found a rather sizable (golf ball) lump on the interior of my dog's right hind leg (by her knee). The lump is symmetrical and is not movable... it kind of feels like part of her muscle but is so large that I am concerned. I bathed her aprox. 2 weeks ago and did not notice it and she has not had any trauma (to my knowledge) to that region of her leg. Any advice would be most appreciated.
Avatar f tn This sore appears on my dog's jowl on the outside of his mouth. Does anyone know what this is please?
Avatar m tn A lump on the earflap can be an aural hematoma, however if they aspirated the lump to do a biopsy it would have been obvious that it was a hematoma because the syringe would have been filled with blood. It could be a mast cell tumor. A week seems an awfully long time to wait for a biopsy, and to you it must seem interminable! Even if it is a mast cell tumor it is possible to have it completely excised. As long as they remove the whole thing a cure is completely possible.
436837 tn?1293793226 thank you about the lump on my dog's toe..you guys made perfect sense..no it is not bothering him, he races around just fine...walking is no problem he still thinks every upright object deserves his "attention" so to speak...
Avatar f tn I can't tell you exactly what the lumps are. The real answer is to get her checked out with a ve?. Are these lumps soft and very rounded in feel? Or are they mobile? If so, they COULD be lipomas or harmless cysts? But of course I don't want to give you the wrong idea. The only way to tell for sure is to get them examined, and maybe even a fine needle aspiration on them to be sure. (I know. I have a lumpy dog, God bless her. I have seen and felt so many dog-lumps this last few years!
Avatar n tn its easier with a big dog then a small. you really have to shove it far back (with the head in an upward position) so that it's very hard for them to push it back up. you can put it in as far as you can, hold the head in an upward position until he/she swallows a few times (you can rub the throat to help encourage them to swallow), or you can try to chase it down with a piece of cheese or anything else he considers *yummy*.
Avatar f tn Ginger is correct. Even if a dog has been neutered they still get the swelling on the penis. Dogs, like people, masturbate because it feels good to them. Neutering them will not prevent them from doing this, it merely prevents them from being able to impregnate a female, so if they are in the mood, they can still bet an erection.
Avatar m tn Since about 4 monthso on the left side of my dog's anus(sorry i dont really know the specific terms) there is a lump or it is swollen. He can poop normally with no problem , and he acts healthy as usual. He is about 8 years old . I took some pictures , can you people help me know what is this? Note : its pictures of my dog's *** with a lump next to it. http://imgur.
3010990 tn?1340511756 Oh gosh, it is impossible really for any of us to diagnose what the lump is in your dog's ear. It could be anything. It probably ISN'T cancer...but you really need to take him in to the vet to get this seen as soon as you can. (Same protocol with ANY weird lump, anywhere.) I am guessing it could possibly be a haematoma?? A blood-filled swelling. Dogs' ears are common sites for these. But of course, I cannot tell you. Only the vet can.
Avatar f tn s overweight for her height. Her coat is fairly thin compared to our other English, as we can see her skin through her fur on her sides, and his coat is much thicker, but he only weighs 52lbs at 2 years old. About a month ago I felt what I thought was a tick on the underside of Fiona's ear. When I looked at it, it was a little smaller than a pencil eraser, but was not a tick, it was a bump with a scab on it.
Avatar f tn Hello~It is highly unlikely like an eye infection could cause a lump under your dog's neck. You need to take her to the vet in any event to have the infection in her eye taken care of, otherwise, it could get worse and cause blindness.
Avatar m tn I have a 10 month old female pit bull puppy who has a lump on the right side of her neck just below her jaw. I came home from work 2 days ago and saw this lump on my dog for the first time ever. The lump was about 4 times larger when I first saw then it is currently. I have not seen anything out of the ordinary in her behavior. She has remained extremely active and does not show any signs of being in any pain.
Avatar n tn There is a huge lump, the size of a baseball on the back of my puppy's neck. The lump has doubled in size since yesterday and am wondering what this could be. It feels like there is liquid in it and everytime we touch the area, my puppy cries. What could this be? Can a stick a needle in it and try to pop it?
Avatar n tn My dog has about a 1.5" round lump on her abdomen on one side. It is not firm, very soft. There are darker spots on it, and it has yellow crust on it. It's not a smooth lump, but a bit bumpy. I havent a clue what it is, and we can't call the vet until Monday. I have a photo. She is a 2 year old lab.
Avatar n tn I have recently found that I have a lump on the right side of my throat. I do smoke regularly, and I am worried could this be cancer or something else?
Avatar n tn That sounds like what the vet above just described, which is called the "Bulbus Glandis" It is a gland which swells quite large and round-ish, and is usually about half way up the dog's penis. It shows up when the dog gets an erection, and goes away when the penis goes back to flaccid again. It does sound like this. Is that what you find happens? That it swells up, then disappears minutes or so later? If so, that's perfectly natural and nothing to worry about at all.
Avatar f tn Is the lump/sore bright red? It sounds like a condition called "cherry eye" and it is very common in cocker spaniels. It appears literally overnight and it is actually a prolapse of a gland in the nictitating membrane, or third eyelid. A very simple surgery will return the gland to its original position. The condition isn't painful although it looks painful. This gland is responsible for 30-40% of the tear production of the eye.
203342 tn?1328737207 I just got back from seeing a doctor and after going over my blood result tests he believes a lot of my throat issues (raspy voice, achy feeling and/or lump feeling at the base of my throat) is due to an infection on my thyroid and once we clear that up I should be fine. My TSH levels were within normal but my T3 and T4 were high. He retested to make sure I don't have Graves and that came back negative.
Avatar n tn Hi. I have an 8 year old miniature poodle and very recently, I found a very small lump on her breast near her nipple. The size is very small, it's the same as her nipple. I'm quite concern what is could be. She's had a lump near her nose area before and it kind of disappeared suddenly. Should I take her to the vet to be checked out? Thank you so much.
Avatar m tn There is an artery in the area you are talking about and they have a pulse like in your wrist. It the lump a hard bump or a spongy lump that you feel your pulse when you press on it? It isn't on the bone it is above the bone right? if it is soft and spongy it may just be an artery. If it is solid and hard I would have the doc feel it.
