Lump just above navel

Common Questions and Answers about Lump just above navel

lump

this was three years ago and I have had discomfort in my abdomen since but learned to live with it. but just a few days ago i noticed this lump on my navel just a little above it, it reminds me of the lump I found in my breast. I was just wondering if it's a possibility of this being cancerous and if there is such a thing as having cancer in this part of the body?
I am a big chap and after a lot of weight gain the muscles at the top of my navel seemed to finally give up and rupture - painlessly - producing what is now a reasonably-sized softish (firmer than surrounding tissue but only somewhat) lump just above my navel. My question is whether there is any point in seeing anybody about this - it does not hurt or do anything - now it has happened, or should I just keep an eye on it?
I am and I noticed a pain around my navel before but just thought it was from gaining a lot of weight and with everything stretching and whatnot... I also considered it might be that condition where your fatcells harder, I forget the term. At least I feel better knowing I'm not alone in this affliction... I'll come back and let everyone know what my doc says (god willing it's nothing serious and can wait a few more days!
Had hernia repair 2/99. Still suffering great discomfort with extended, rigid stomach, from above to below navel. Goes down when laying on back. Extends and gets rigid at all times when upright. So frustrated. I feel for your problems. Please let me know if you find a solution.
) found a great site and this is what it says ... If your belly and navel pop out and/or you feel kicks under your ribs, chances are your baby is in the anterior position, with his or her back facing your front. If your belly appears slightly flatter and/or you feel your baby’s kicks at the very front of your tummy, your baby is probably in the posterior position, with his or her back next to your back.
There is a small (size of a quarter) pink lump with a tiny brown bruise in the center of my lower stomach (Below my navel and just above my pubic area). When a lump is involved it's pretty frightening. Just out of the blue... I'm a 23 year old female and I'm worried. Other than the soreness in that zone, I feel perfectly fine. No nausea, cramps, headache, fever, or fatigue. Nothing! I'm wondering if anyone knows what this is/could be, or has experienced it themselves. Please let me now!

There is a smaller than pea size lump about 1 inch above and to the left of my penis in my pubic area. I really dont think it is an ingrown hair as it has been there for a couple of months and has no head (also I do not trim or shave). It is not visable, red, or raised above normal skin level. It is only noticable to touch but I hate it and cant figure out what it is--which makes me hate it more.
i have a mass or lump in the upper part part of my navel, if i press i feel a hard lump about 1.
But I still feel pressure above the navel and around that whole area as though something is there. The lump is gradually getting worse. I have a muscle/bump on the back of my head and the doctor thought originally that was causing the neck lump when I swallow. Doctor has done an exam , I had cervical soft tissue xrays of my neck yesterday. No results yet. Constipation is better but I know something is not right. No real fever. I usually run 98 something to 99 at one point in the day.
Some weeks ago I discovered by accident a lump or mass about 2-3 inches above the navel, in the middle of the abdomen, which had no feeling if not touched, but was very tender--painful when pressed. A few days later (and since then) it was not longer tender: if pressed it doesn't hurt at all. I have no other symptoms and am very well, except the rectum often has some strange feelings, not pain, but as if the rectum was trying to open? really don't know how to describe it.
My father has a lump in his lower left abdomen...just a little above the penis and hes not had a checkup yet...he was saying it could be cancerous..is that possible...
I'm a new poster but found this article just posted above written by Chris Woolston, M.S. to be very helpful even though I do not agree with everything in the Action To Take sections and felt it may help some of the posters here. Good luck. Never give up your pursuit of good health! I did not have enough space to add this info to the posting. Chris Woolston is a health and medical writer with a master's degree in biology.
There is no pain. The area under my navel is SWOLLEN and the lower you go, it feels like there is a big lump the size of an orange and its VERY hard. I scheduled an appt but I was wondering if these are symptoms any of you had?
I think I may have a small umbilical hernia mid-line just above my navel. Most of the time it feels normal but every couple of days I have some discomfort and a cramping feeling. Just last night I noticed a lump about the size of a dime above my navel that is tender that can be reduced by pushing on it. This is when I had the ah-ha moment and suspected a hernia. This morning it feels fine and there is no lump. I have an appointment with my PCP tomorrow.

My wife has a lump of some kind just above the beginning of her stomach, we asked a few people about this and they might think it's a hiatal hernia, when she goes to sleep she wakes up in the middle of the night having a hard time breathing like her wind is being cut off but after a few seconds she is alright but seems to also complain to have a panic attack that goes along with this disorder she has seen a Dr.
At times, pain can also be felt in the groin area, right inner thigh and abdomen (lower, bladder area to above the navel). I first saw a Urologist in March (when the lump became visibly noticeable and the pain more constant). He ruled out epididimytis and suggested the onset of testicular torsion and sent me on my way. Since then, the pain has worsened and the lump grown. I saw my primary care physician last Friday (a new Doctor; my first visit).

I have a question and figure this is one of the best places to ask. about a month ago I had a horrible bout of Intestinal Bacteritis. I got over it in about 5 days, but since then i've been having an uncomfortable feeling in my stomach. Sometimes I eat something small like soup and i get the worst craps and bloating in my upper stomach region. It never goes higher then my lower espohagus and it lasts for a few hours.
I am constantly nauseous even though I never vomit from it. I have sharp pains right above my navel, deep into my stomach. I occassionally get pains right under my right side ribcage but they do not radiate. My stomach burns and gurgles if it's empty, full, medium, whatever. I am 29 years old, don't smoke, don't drink, no stress job, I run 5 miles a day and I am ALWAYS SICK!!!! ugh! If you want to email me please do and I will keep you posted as to what my doc says.
Looks very red and irritated, especially around the belly button (I had a vertical incision from about 3 inches above the navel down to my pubic region) It also started bleeding a bit today. Is that normal?????????? Hope you feel better soon girl!! Luv ya, sis..........
I off and on, mostly on, have some type of bulge about the size of a quarter or two above my navel and it hurts to touch. Anyone ever had that type of symptom or know what it could be? I've scheduled an appt but it's not until April.
I'm occationally nausea, have cramping, usually can't sleep on stomach cause it feels like i have a brick in there, bloating, bad frequent gas, and my pants dont fit any more, and right above my navel i can't stand to touch and it's ususaly rock hard. On January 29th i was in so much pain i had to be taken home from work and for about 3 hours didnt move cause it hurt so bad. The same thing has happened about 3 time since then but i cant figure out what triggers it.
I just had an umbilical hernia repaired. I felt great the day of the op, and the first post-op day. On the 2nd day, I ended up in the hospital with severe dehydration. I took a whole bag of fluid. While there, the ER doctor squeezed a sore lump in my stomach I hadn't noticed before, about 2-2 1/2" directly above where the lump had been in my navel (navel was removed during surgery). It's a fairly good sized lump (about baseball sized) and is more pronounced when I stand up.
Can anyone tell me exactly where liver pain would hurt. I hurt at the bottom of my ribs and just a smidge above that but it feels like its to the outside of them, and it is not underneath them.
- Bladder distention (urinary bladder over-filled with fluid) can cause a firm mass in the center of the lower abdomen above the pelvic bones, and in extreme cases can extend as far up as the navel. - Cholecystitis can cause a very tender mass that is felt below the liver in the right-upper quadrant (occasionally). - Colon cancer can cause a mass almost anywhere in the abdomen. - Crohn's disease or bowel obstruction can cause multiple tender, sausage-shaped masses anywhere in the abdomen.
I had also heard that thigh area was bad for reactions and wanted to try to prevent this. Well, I soon afterwards, I got a huge hard lump at the site which as dimished a lot, but I can still feel it two days later. Does anyone know what the lump is, ie: is it fluid collecting under the skin? For my fourth shot, on my left outer thigh, I prepped by warming the injection site for 10 mins before the shot, and chilling it for 15 mins afterwards.
