Lump in throat under chin

Common Questions and Answers about Lump in throat under chin

lump

this is getting treated soon.. Basically I discovered strange shaped lump under my chin/jaw.. I believe it's in the submandibular region. It's above my adam's apple, under my chin slightly to the left (my left).. When I feel it, it feels like it starts out very thin, and then starts to expand outwards.. the widest section of the lump is no larger than my thumb..and the general length in total is less than my thumb.. It feels quite hard, doesn't move that freely.
The tender lump under your chin could be a localized infection like a beginning abscess. Breaks in the skin can cause bacteria to enter, resulting in an infection. Appropriate antibiotic should help. It could also be a swollen salivary gland or a swollen lymph node. It would be best to seek consult with your doctor for proper evaluation and management. Take care.
Re: lump under chin, I would go straight to the dr. get a blood test for EBV and be referred to an ENT. If you live in the country go to the city, don't mess around with this or wait too long. It's always better to be safe than sorry. this if speaking from experience. I pray you'll be okay.
I got to look in mirror and didn't see anything. Then a instant sudden lump started forming under my chin on my neck throat area. It felt like a tumor but would think tumor just doesn't pop up like that. The lump went down about 15 min after it formed. It hurt under my back tongue to open my mouth but that went down as well. What could this be.? Extremely weird that the lump formed then went away. What you think the sudden lump that formed is? Not cancer i hope.
My miniature dachshund Sophie all of a sudden developed a small golf ball sized lump on the left side of her chin right by her throat. She seems to be in a good bit of discomfort but no pain that I can see. She is eating and drinking but she is certainly not her usual spunky self. When she looks at you, she has those puppy eyes that tells you something is wrong. Her breathing is different too. It's shorter breaths like she's uncomfortable.
Hi there, I have two mouth ulcers at the moment as I think I am quite low but I have now noticed two hard lumps that have appeared under my chin. One is under my chin and the other is in my throat and quite painful. Any ideas what they are? I also have a pea sized lump in my cheek which has been there since I was a child. It has never bothered me and the Dr said it could be just a small stone.
Hey all! I need some advice! Recently I found a small soft lump in my throat under my chin at my jaw line. I have had a sore throat and then I notice the lump. My sore throat went away but the lump is still there. Sometimes I have pain in my throat near the lump but it only lasts a second and then goes away. It's on the right side of my face, nothing on the left. Should I be alarms or does it just sound like swollen lymph node?? Help!!
It's not in my neck or throat, but under my chin in the soft spot, where I suppose you could say the second chin would be, if I had a second chin! ha For the past month I've been feeling ill. Dizzy spells, and what I've been told appears to be panic attacks! I've been skeptical of this diagnosis since I was first given it, and now I am worried if there is legitimately something else happening to me. Any ideas? Is there any kind of glad that is under there?

I feel a lump under my chin. Is this a sign of anything serious? It is right in the center and is smaller than a pea size.
I can feel it when I swallow and sometimes is agrivated by larger or rougher bites of food (this has been off and on for about 6-8 months) ~I have a swollen area/lump the size of a dime on the left side of my neck along my sternocleidomastoideus ~The glands under my chin have (off and on) become swollen ~In the past couple months I have contracted what seems to be some form of Bronchitis or Cold/Flu symptoms multiple times ~Experiencing some weight loss ~Experiencing consistent fatigue, but sti
Mouth feels better today, still have swelling to back of throat and dryness. Dentist had a look in mouth and said everything looks ok. Checked lump under my chin and thought it could be extra piece of bone growth, or perhaps from a bang when I was a child, but feels best to check it out. I explained that since Monday one of my top teeth had been hurting (3rd tooth along in the mouth, left side). I have had a previous root filling in this tooth.
I discovered a lump in my throat on the right side about an inch and a half down, and about a half an inch to the right from my chin. At the dentist about a year ago I had him feel it and he said it was nothing to worry about and it should go away (he showed me that he had some also that had been in his throat for awhile). But it has been about a year and the lump to the best of my knowledge hasn't gotten any bigger or smaller, neither does it feel like it has shifted positions.
lymph nodes (1 on each side) have somewhat grown a little in size, and lump under my chin changes its size too. What on earth could it be? The lump is pretty hard and has a kind of palpable <1 cm thick wire directin downwards to near my adams apple.
Why all sudden lymph enlarge all over body. Plus stomach pain, loose Stool, sore throat.. I can feel my stomach lymph tight, under my chin. I don't have mono or cmv. So it's hiv. Too many symptoms for low risk, how could that be? All these appear in ars time frame?
But recently, just a few days ago, I woke up with a large, hard lump in my throat. It is located in the center of my throat..maybe a little to the right, and it's up near the bottom of my chin. When I first noticed it it was very large and you could see it sticking out underneath my chin with my head straight forward. I think it's gone down a little in size now you can only see it when I tilt my head back. This lump has caused my sore throat to actually be painful.
Nancy, you get a lump under your chin when you have a sore throat because you have a lymph node there, which swells due to your immune system fighting an infection. You also have lymph nodes under your arms and near your groin. Though I do not believe there are any in the area Mommy2B is describing. I think she is referring to her pubic synthesis. It could be inflamed due to strained ligaments, but I am not very familiar with the attachments in the area.
I have a swollen gland under my chin on my right side and a swollen gland under my tongue for about a week and a half,it is very painful when i eat and i'm tired of the pain any sugestions i really need help before going to the doctor
I was not put to sleep and it was complete torture,I was in extreme pain.I have numbness in my chin and bottom lip,I was told nothing about this prior to them being pulled.I went back and told the surgeon about the numbness and he said it is from the nerves and you will regain your feeling back up to 6 months.
My 18 yr. old daughter just made me aware of a hard tiny pea sized lump under her skin... chin/throat area. It does not move and is slightly sore to the touch. Have to really push and feel around to find it. As a lot of people, when it comes to my child's health I would like to get it thoroughly check out. But, we have a very high deductible to be able to afford the monthly health premium and would have to pay cash for all the tests/biopsies. And cash in quite a shortage right now.
Recently, I noticed a small (~.5" dia) lump in the floor of my mouth. It is not visible from above, or below, but I can feel it. It all came in a day, I did not notice it when shaving a couple of days ago, but Friday night my jaw was somewhat sore like I had a cramped jaw muscle (which I get sometimes when yawning), and I felt and noticed the small lump. Should I be concerned that this is cancerous?
At the worst times it feels like there is a lump in my throat and pressure in my chest and I also get really painful hiccups sometimes, just one or two at a time. Another Dr. said it was just stress and honestly I think he thought I was making it up because it wasnt happening while I was in his office which wasnt helpful! The one time I want the gurgles... If anyone knows of anythign that actually works I would love to hear it!

Neck lymph nodes can be the result of tonsillitis, pharyngitis (infection of upper throat), infection in mouth, caries in tooth, internal ear infection, outer ear infection, eczema, dermatitis, dandruff, breast cancer, fungal infection, other cancers like lymphoma etc. The enumerated the possibilities can be investigated or ruled out one by one by your physician and dentist. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage.
My neck on both sides and the front of my throat and under my chin feel funny. I also feel as though I have a lump in my throat and my right ear is plugged and have some nasal congestion. 3 drs say there is nothing wrong with my throat or ear. I do know that when I lay down to rest I feel as though I am clenching my teeth. Could this all be from stress that is making my neck and throat feel this way? When I do take a xanax the feeling does go awya but as soon as it wears off it comes back.
It can also be described as the throat 'feeling' you get after you have cried or when you get a lump in your throat and just about to cry. i hope this all makes sense.
The lump is located on my neck, to the right side of my chin but a bit further back (like halfway between under my ear and my chin. I went to a walk-in clinic because I couldn't get an appointment at my doctors, and they told me it is probably just a throat infection, but I do not have a sore throat. It is gettin so painful that I get scared of waking up in the mornings because the pain gets alot worse everyday. Can anyone give me any advice?
