Also felt tight as if i was being choked. about 7 weeks ago i went to the ENT for lymph node issues. He did a rhinoscope (stuck the camera up my nose) and told me i had large tonsils and adenoids. He did an ultrasound of my throat and neck as well. He also did blood. Everything came back normal. the sensation in my throat went away.

Avatar n tn Hello~That "lump" feelling in your throat can be due to stress/anxiety, they call it "hysterical lump". Your health anxiety could be adding to the strange feeling as can the constant prodding.
Avatar m tn Also... cancer does not develop in a few weeks. A lump in the back of your throat from an exposure a few months ago seems very unlikely. Also, everyone can see the veins in the back of their throat. I just checked... I can too.
Avatar n tn If they look really red or if you see bumps on them then it may be your tonsils that are hurting. If they are infected you can also get that lump in your throat feeling. However, when I had tonsillitis I also felt really bad and had a fever. Strep is another possibility and one you dont want to ignore. Complications of strep can be dangerous. Also of people get fever and feel really sick with a strep inection but sometimes all you have is a chronic sore throat.
Avatar f tn Hi a couple of months ago I had an infection that caused a swollen lymph which has gone down. The lymph node was from infected tonsils. I had lumps and bumps on the back of my throat that I still there even after I had my tonsils out 4weeks ago. I have a skin coloured bump that has been on the tongue for over a month.

Avatar f tn t been able to swallow as freely as normal. Yesterday I decided to look in my mouth and I notice that I have a lump at the back of my throat. I had my tonsils taken out when I was younger, but they always said that some has been left behind in the scar tissue. Is it possible for just 1 tonsil to grow back and cause problems swallowing or could it be something else!? I wanted to add a photo so you could see, but the lump is at the back of the throat on just 1 side behind the uvula.
Avatar n tn Throat cancer refers to cancerous tumors that develop in the throat, voice box or tonsils. After treatment, follow-up exams every few months during the first two years is done to allow your doctor to monitor recovery and check for a cancer recurrence. While such follow-up exams can increase anxiety around this time, it is recommended that you plan ahead by finding relaxing activities that can help redirect such fears.
Avatar m tn swallow with saliva, never with food) I have a click or a pop sound I can hear it and I can feel it on the outside of my neck, just to the right and just above my Adams apple. Along with this I have a palpable lump in the right side of my neck (it is about 4 fingers from the Adams apple and two almost three fingers down from the jaw line) it is long and skinny (about one inch long) and about 1/2 the diameter of a pencil thickness, the lump seems to move back and forth.
Avatar f tn I have had hoarseness and a feeling of something stuck in my throat for 3 years, cough not associated with a cold, now the feeling of something stuck is a mass/lump in the lower center of my neck where the collar bones meet. Thyroid with uptake came back within normal limits, CT scan was "normal". I still have this lump and it affects my breathing, I feel like I am choking if my shirt touches the mass or if I lower my neck down.
Avatar n tn This tissue seems to get inflamed when the drip is present on that side of my throat to the point I feel like a lump is stuck there. It even hurts a little, although nothing major or intolerable. Does this sound like a normal manifestation considering my throat's altered, post-tonsillectomy configuration? Thanks!
Avatar f tn You likely didn't have strep if your throat wasn't massively painful. Strep throat actually usually looks simply bright red. I'd guess you have tonsillitis. Your throat may just be swollen when you look back there. You can gargle with salt water to see if that helps or take ibuprofen to reduce swelling (if that is something you can take without problem). If it IS tonsillitis, antibiotics can clear that up.
Avatar n tn This past monday I noticed a flesh colored lump, round-looking, on one side of my tonsils. In just the last week I have noticed more growth type looking things on my tonsils. They can be better seen when i tighten my throat. I dont believe they are tonsiliths or whatever those pockets of food are, these are actual flesh. The photo I attaches is kind of bright because of the flash on the camera, so ignore the sides of my mouth and tongue.
Avatar m tn had unprotected cunnilingus and fellatio with a prostitute 3 months ago got soar throat 1 day after check my throat and see white stuff and a hard mobile lump in left side of neck same side as the swollen tonsil. if not HIV can it be syphilis? teak plz help me i've read the forum with seeing no risk on oral do this sound like the HIV worry?
Avatar f tn What other symptoms are present? Enlarged lymph node in the neck commonly occurs with infections of the mouth, throat, tonsils, or ears. Treatment for cervical lymphadenitis may include warm compresses, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications for pain and antibiotics, if indicated. If it persists, it is best that you have this checked for proper evaluation especially id there is history of cancer also. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn For the next 7 months I put up with a constant lump in my throat feeling, like a golf ball near my adams apple until december 2014 when I went to an ENT. Bloods fine etc. He removed my tonsil stone and said I had GERD. Took the prescribed 15mg of Lansoprazole per day, no difference to me at all, if anything I felt it made my breath worse. In Febuary 2015 I push around my tonsils and pushed out 5 tonsil stones. I finally won my battle and had a tonsillectomy in July 2015. I was so relieved.
Avatar m tn Okay, so I've had a lot of confusion going on in my life lately. One night, I ended up giving oral to someone but he said he was clean. This was like the last week of June. All of my three partners are apparently clean, but I have some type of virus. I'm not sure if it's mono or herpes. I went to get tested for both.
Avatar f tn I am getting my tonsils removed in 2 weeks. But i am really worried about the lump in neck, and bumps/lumps in back of throat and bump on and under my tongue. I'm scared that it is something serious i'm 19!
