No changes in how my muscles look.Recently, been having moderate leg pain, in both legs. Mainly in the front of my thighs, with burning. No cramping, where the muscles lock & are painful.Have not had that.Major fear of ALS.The fear & twitching comes & goes.High anxiety Exams:Lab tests are normal, including antibody, B vitamins & thyroid.CT of brain, EKG, many nerve conduction tests, MRI of brain & spine & spinal tap in May (before twitching started) were all normal.
For the past 6 months, I have had pain in my chest that comes and goes. It is mostly on the left side of my chest, near the center. I went to the doctor 3 times. The first time he did an EKG and a chest x-ray, and did not find any problems. He said it wes probably heartburn. The second time I went, I also had some pain in my back, between my spine and shoulder blade, on the left side. A different doctor there said that I had a pinched nerve and that the pain was radiating into my chest.
I have a thumping sound in my left ear which is random, it comes and goes but I have had a bit of pain behind my ear and also I quite often have to hold my nose and blow and my ears squeek and then I can hear properlt again, any clues,
Hi, my boyfriend works in freezers 5 days a week and has had a persistent cold for years which comes and goes, 3 years ago I found a small movable lump on the right side of his neck halfway between the bottom of the ear lobe and the collarbone. Could the two possibly related, I was sure it was an enlarged lymph node that hadn't gone back down to size after an infection. It's very small and moves around and is soft not hard.
is this a form of varicose veins? the reason i suspect that it may be is that it comes and goes, the lump is about 1/4 to 1/2 inch in dia. it occasionally itches and is blueish in color. I have been able to keep the itching to a minimum by wearing an ace bandage snugly around my wrist but not so tight as to cause additional problems. also i tried using the top of a childs sock(elastic) and this seemed to control the lump too. when pressed on it disappears for a few minutes then reappears...
he said that it should go down in a few weeks, and it hasn't yet, i read that sometimes it can take longer. The lump doesn't hurt, and it hasn't changed in size at all. I also noticed that i have had blood in my stool. It's very inconsistent, in fact it has been about two weeks since i have noticed any, it's almost like it comes and goes. what would you suggest?
I have noticed a small pea-size lump on my neck about 2 inches below and 2 inches behind my left earlobe. it feels somewhat soft and slightly painful when I touch it. There is a mild throbbing --comes and goes -- on the opposite side of my head, above the ear, inside the cranium. These are very new symproms. I also felt tired and slightly noxious today (could be unrelated.
I've had sore throat for months (no cough), tinnitus for about a month, mild/moderate pain in ears that comes and goes, lighter periods than normal, stomach symptoms (alternating diarrhea and constipation, gas, loud stomach noises), muscle twitching all over my body (mostly in the legs). I'll make an appointment to the doctor tommorow, what diagnosis should I be expecting? I'm sixteen.
I also have the same kind of lump as Tarrigo but the only thing is that when my lumps get swallen I get painful headaches. The bump comes and goes every two weeks. The first lump was right in back of my neck. Then after a month of so another one on the right side of it. And of course more headaches. Then another one to right of that the second. So now there is three. I know I need a check up but my appt is not until next week. Is this normal or should I really be concern? Thanks!
I have two things going on: 1. I have a small (dime-size) lump on the right side of my neck. It is even with my ear near the base of my neck. I have had it for approx. 3 years. It is definitely someone in my neck vs. related to my skin as my skin appears normal. It doesn't hurt and it doesn't move. In fact it doesn't bother me at all and I've never really been concerned about it until a friend urged me to get it checked out. 2. My right thigh - depending on how I walk, how I sit, etc.
a rare reoccuring boil in my groin area aswell sinilair to the one on my back..comes and goes. But my neck lump has never shrunk. So my main question is..."what exactly can cause this? is it possibly cancer? can it be removed? is it potentionally life threatening? and can it cause all my fatigue, sleep issues appetite ect? thank you very much for your time...
This can be a challenging diagnosis in person and just about impossible over a forum such as this. Anything that lasts that long should be evaluated by a head/neck surgeon (an ENT doctor).
I have health anxiety also. Now this lump sensation comes and goes. It is there everyday but sometimes its better than others. Help!
I have a sensation of like a chicken bone or pill stuckin my throat and it like moves up and down then goes away, then it comes back abit later... not burning, like a pressure roling in my throat. I notice more so when I am nervous or upset, or stress. Its anoying and I really cant afford to go to a doctor....needless to say have upper endoscopy done...
It seem to clear up in about 5 days. After those symtoms left i have felt a lump or something stuck in throat and maybe like a small soreness also at time. This feeling is in the soft part of throat right above breast bone sternum area. I dont really notice it unless i swallow saliva. It doesnt seem to bother me eating drinking or breathing. Feel the best right awsy when i wake up but soon after it goes full force.
Sore neck - my glands are swollen and my neck is actually sore to touch, it hurts to turn my head and when I yawn, cough or sneeze I get a sharp pain in my neck. 2. I have pressure in my ears, my neck, my mouth and my face. 3. I have intermittent feelings of a low-grade fever. They told me I had a sinue infection and gave me a decongestant (can't remember the name) and amoxycillin.
Well John, about a month ago I was totally lump free, for a few weeks as well, but without warning it returned, and though I'm not saying that is what will happen to you, as I hope you are cured! I'm just saying that the feeling in my throat comes and goes regularly. Well look further into the spasms, you never know. Good luck! Let me know if you find a cure or if it persists. Keep me informed as I do hope for you it doesn't return.
Lymph nodes are found all throughout the body, but with Lymphoma and Leukemia it is more often seen in the lymph nodes found in the neck, collar bone, armpits, and groin areas...usually. My lymphoma was found in my breast, which is quite unusual. Blood tests and scans are helpful when trying to diagnose blood diseases, but they are only a small piece of the puzzle.
right now my chest is not hurting where the lump is. It comes and goes nowadays...it used to hurt all the time. My BIGGEST question, though, is about the lump. According to my symptoms, is there any reason why the lump would get worse when i lay down? Is there a name for this. Trust me, i have looked all over for my symptoms and i can't find it. There are things that are close, but nothing really fits. if anybody can give me some feedback, i would greatly appreciate it.
Hi, I'm 33 y/o female, mother of 4, and have had a headache and neck pain for a couple of weeks now. It comes and goes. I feel fine sometimes and then it will come and bug me for a while and maybe feel better again later. No certain time of day that this happens. I don't know what is causing this. My doctor thought it could be due to my seasonal allergies, but not sure if that what is causing it.
We even went to see and ER doctor who did a CT scan of the head and neck. Results came out to be normal....but her pain in the neck persisted and oneday we notice that she had this nodule on the back of her neck. At times her head feels like pounding and pain would radiate to her shoulders. She's very worried about this. Luckily my aunt from california, informed us that she had the same symptoms before having had chronic sinusitis for more thatn 30 years.
2 days after that (went to the doctor on 7th dec) I noticed a small lump that can move slightly on the back of my neck left side...it is painless and doesnt bother me, however I can move it a little bit back and forth...atleast thats what it feels like anyways....I also have been since the weekend getting random numbness in my arms...from the tricep all the way to the fingers or wrist...I am going to go back to the doctor next week, I just worried about this right now though...
I'm no doctor, but I'd say that a lump that stays there and grows larger is something that's more concerning than a swelling that comes and goes. If your worry persists and/or the swelling gets worse (or doesn't go away in a few days), then I'd suggest making an appointment with your doctor. Good luck!!
My second question and equally important is in regards to the nature of cancer lump. Now if I decided to wait before i could see a doctor in the city and the lump goes away, will it still be consider a cancer treat or not? In other words, doctor, does cancer lump goes away after ew days or does it stay longer and gets bigger? will be a lunmp that gets smaller and goes away consider a canncer treat or not?
Hi. The lump you have could be cystic in nature as you described it. Do you have a recurrent infection in the head and neck area? That could explain the intermittent nature of the lump behind your ear. Though I do suggest consult with your doctor for proper evaluation. It is very hard to tell what exactly you are having without the benefit of a good physical examination. Good luck.
I am wondering if this could be the cause, since the neck stiffness comes and goes throughout the day. Also, I was massaging my neck there is a lump that is on the left side below the hairline. Sometimes it feels as if the stiffness/minor pain radiates from there. Any insights onto what could be happening? Could it be hypertension causing me to have a stiff neck?
I have had a sore throat and ear/neck pain for months. I keep getting a lump in the hinge of my jaw like a cyst that when pressed on eventually squishes and goes away. but eventually comes back in a few days. I have had strep tests and the dr thought I had ear/sinus infection so I took antibiotics. It did nothing for me. So again I went in a month later and antibiotics. No help. What could this be and what can I do to get it properly evaluated?
After reading a few threads, this is something I've been suffering with since Oct 2001 and no doctor has been able to give me an answer. This is the cliff notes version. I've seen THREE endocrinologists (going on 4), an Immunologist, ENT (who pointed towards the thyroid more than once), Allergist, a dentist specializing in TMJ and even a chiropractor which felt like it was irritating my neck with adjustments. It started with a choking feeling in my neck.
He adjusted my neck and back and ribs and sent me on my way. My neck feels good/normal in the morning, but as the day goes on, the pressure comes back... around my adam's apple usually. At night I take a couple of tylenol PM and I sleep through the night just fine. I am concerned with throat cancer, as I smoked for so many years. What is your opinion?
