Common Questions and Answers about Lump in neck puppy

lump

Avatar m tn There is no wY to tell you what the lump might be or how to treat it. Is it on top of the skin or under the skin? Is it hard or soft? It could be some infection, a bite, an abscess or even Puppy Strangles, which can be fatal. If you are concerned, the best thing you can do is have your Vet check it. That way, you will definitely know what it is and if it needs treatment.

Avatar n tn There is a huge lump, the size of a baseball on the back of my puppy's neck. The lump has doubled in size since yesterday and am wondering what this could be. It feels like there is liquid in it and everytime we touch the area, my puppy cries. What could this be? Can a stick a needle in it and try to pop it?
Avatar f tn My 7 year old black lab has a lump on the back of his neck where he received an inoculation as a puppy. The lump developed within days and has never caused any problems. Well.... a few days ago I noticed it appeared to have bled. I thought I'd caught it with his Furminator so cleaned it up and it was 'fine'. Tonight I noticed his hair in that area looked clumped together and I can see where blood has come thru the hair follicle openings. I'm very concerned!

4733442 tn?1358513248 which is more likely in old dogs, not puppies. In old dogs that can also indicate cancer, in my experience with an older Golden Retriever. I think fat pockets are also more prevalent in large dogs.

Avatar m tn I have a 9 year old and he has a little lump in the right side of his neck. The lump is the size of a marble. there is no pain or anything but its been there for awhile. what would it be and what should I do?
Avatar n tn In some dogs it is more prominent than in others. If it was a soft lump in the middle of his belly I would say it was an umbilical hernia, but a hernia shouldn't be hard. Please let us know what the vet says. I am curious to know.
Avatar m tn Swelling of the breast tissue before giving birth may be the cause. Pretty sure it is not a puppy in that location. At 2 years I would not worry much about breast cancer either. A veterinarian would have to see the spot to be sure. continue to watch her carefully and I hope her delivery is without problems.
Avatar f tn I'm a 16 year old female. I have what feels to be a 3 in. lump under the muscle of the right side of my neck that's been present for 2 years. It's in the middle of the side of my neck and slowly growing to the front of my neck. Doctors did an ultrasound plus blood work and saw nothing abnormal and said it's just me growing. There's no pain but it's uncomfortable and causes pressure on the inside my neck. Do you think it is from growing or something else?
Avatar f tn I quit taking it Dec 07 and due to the fact that my ovary is still functioning I could not go on the the next medicine that I would have taken. I just found a lump in my neck which had been diagnosed as Breast Cancer recourrance. I still have one ovary which is still functioning. It was dicsucced that is should have been removed but they never did do it.
Avatar f tn I was born with a small lump toward the lower end of my neck in the front. it doesnt cause me any pain but i am constantly asked if it is related to thyroid or fibromitosis. Both of these terms scare me, i guess my question is that over the last two years its almost tripled in size. I am starting to worry. I have no insurance and am low income. Does anyone have an idea what this could be? concerned and confused.....
Avatar n tn I have had a painless lump in my neck for several years. It is on the left side in the same area where my lymph nodes typically swell up when I have a cold. It is behind the upper part of my jaw, below my ear. It is hard, painless (unless I press it rather hard), immovable and about an inch in size. I have had two doctors who have been aware of it, but dismissed it. The first one put me on antibiotics to make it go down, but they did not do anything.
