Lump in neck near adam's apple

Common Questions and Answers about Lump in neck near adam's apple

lump

But until then, I thought I would ask here. Right near my adams apple, theres a small hard lump. Really small, like maybe alittle bigger than a pea. If I tilt my head back, and move my adams apple, you can see it move with the adams apple. But if I mess with it with my finger, u can feel it move alittle. So I am thinking its attached to the adams apple or something near the adams apple, but not very tightly. This tiny lump is sorta below and to the side of the adams apple.
Just recently I have discovered a round lump under my adam's apple. Its in the center of my throat and almost looks like a second Adam's apple when I swallow. Im a 23 year old male (non-smoker and non-drinker). It doesnt hurt at all and the only reason I found is, I was rubbing my neck and felt a lump. It moves up and down when I swallow. If Im sitting relaxed it doesnt portrude my skin...but if I flex my muscles or make my neck tight it is a noticeable lump.
that go up and down. The top one is up under my chin and looks like a man's adam's apple, and then there's two just underneath it, with the bottom most one right above my collar bone. I can feel the entire thyroid, starting at the base of my neck and going all the way up to just under my chin - where incidentally I seem to have developed a double chin out of the blue.
It is about level with my Adam's apple, maybe half an inch higher. I do not recall it ever being tender. I have in my (distant) past had a lot of problems with my ears starting with a perforated ear drum when I was a baby, I also had (never 100% confirmed) glandular fever when I was 16. Also something else just occured to me....
Such a thing is theoretically possible, but few if any escort CSWs in London have syphilis, which is rare in the UK except in gay/bi men and occasional foreign immigrants; and rarely transmitted by oral contact even if she had it. Certainly I have never seen such a case in 30+ years in a busy STD clinic, in a part of the world where syphilis is much more common than in London. For reassurance, follow through with your plan for another syphilis blood test at 6 weeks. It will be negative.
I've been doing a lot of research, finding things on GERD (but I don't have any heartburn), and LPR (but can't figure out why my glands would be swollen because of this or the achiness up near my ears), and a thyroid problem (but still can't figure out why gland in neck would be swollen, and I don't feel any sort of lump where the thyroid would be). Please help, any insight would be greatly helpful.

"tightness feeling in [your] throat " can be from many reasons, this globus sensation that paulyK mentions is a good term for it. Anxiety, asthma, GERD acid reflux, foreign bodies, these need evaluation by your doctor.

Now have a similar boil-like eruption at the hairline near the nape of my neck ... size of a pea with red, swelling, beginning to come to head look to it. I thought it was just a pimple when it started 2-3 days ago .. WRONG! I am ok -- no fever, etc., It would be my assumption that when one of the stitch abscesses along the incision line ruptured last week the germ got transfered by my hands even though I washed them, etc., etc., ? or is this infection along the incision actually moving ?

This may or may not be what you have, but hopefully it will help someone. I always felt like something was stuck in my throat or I had a lump in my throat, sometimes left side, sometimes right side. I had trouble swallowing, was afraid to eat at first for fear or choking. I was very terrified for months.
Level three indicates the position of the lymph nodes. In your case they are near the area where a man's " adam's apple" would be. ( More or less ) Unless you meant "stage" and not level. If it says stage, that means how far along in a disease you are, or how long you've had the problem. They are saying that the gland is measuring 1.2 cm whereas a normal size is up to 1 cm. They haven't determined the cause, but are saying it could be from a viral infection, mono, etc.
The first couple of days it was in my tonsils, then traveled to what felt like behind my uvula. Today it has been down deeper in my throat where my Adam's apple would be. Researching this I've come to believe it is muscle related like you all are describing. I'm always under stress and am constantly having muscle problems in my back and neck. My neck and back feel okay, I mean nothing out of the ordinary, so it's weird that I'm not sure what could be causing it.
i had similar pains too had a pain in swallowing theres a lump at my neck is it the growth of adam's apple?
I will be doing ok for a few days (small amount of clicking and no pains) then I will have days where I have the clicking, occipital headache on the affected side, pain deep in the neck where the clicking is (in the triangle of the neck region at the level of Adams apple and below jaw), twinges of pain to my ear, jaw, and sometimes teeth. This is all on the same side that is clicking, the right side. I have had no trauma to the neck, no tonsils removed or surgeries.
it felt like 2much air went in through th eleft side of my neck.. now the left side of neck feels loose n congested n i have trouble speaking.. n feel pain in my ear ..
this sensation has been going on since the RAI in 2004. In the past have I expressed this with 2 endos- GI - ENT and many MD's. Recently in Oct 2007 I made a switch to another MD and he ordered the US per my asking. Results/ Findings : on Feb 2007 US - The right lobe measures 2.2c1.0c0.9cm It has mildly heterogeneous echo texture and margins are indistinct. There is an increase cascularity associated with it . Left lobe measures 3.4x1.6x0.
it wasn till recently that i started noticing fatigue, dry brittle hair, pain near what would be my adam's apple if i was a guy and noww my voice ( i am a singer) just sounds.. bad. like i was good before. and now im not. dont know whats going onnn. do you think it couldd be because of my thyroid? and i want my singing voice back!
There is a click in my throat. There's a lump, like a second adam's apple. I can't swallow or yawn without this click. Sometimes it feels like I am getting strangled". Without any further description, the EMT put his finger right on the lump and told me I had arthritis of the hyoid bone. He gave me some anti-inflamaty drugs. While I was relieved that the EMT recognized my symptoms, I have occasional doubts that something more serious is going on.
Of course my throat wasn't closing. Sometimes I felt a huge lump in my throat and that scared me...until I actually looked and noticed that it was my uvula touching the back of my tongue. The more you focus on this symptom the worse it gets. Try not to focus on it. I agree with nursegirl. Get the all clear from your doc and start focusing on your anxiety issues. Good luck and keep us posted. For what it's worth that particular symptom vanished for me once I realized that it was common.
It began in 1976 and re occurs every 5 to 6 years. I get a sore throat (not tonsils but when you swallow) I now go straight on antibiotics and use Bricanyl inhaler although it doesnt seem to have much effect except to cause alot of mucus coughed up from the lungs. It causes me to have spasm coughing and if I cannot control this to 3 or 4 coughs my windpipe closes over making it hard to breath in or out.
It occurs at the bottom of my neck near my collarbones. It always forces me to cough hard as if I'm trying to clear something. Sometime the coughing is unbearable. However, I don't suffer from a lot of heartburn or chest pains. My stomach can get acidy and upset fairly easily though. I wonder if this could be a form of reflux. A doctor thought it might be asthmatic or an allergic reaction, but I didn't show any of the other signs. Do you need to have heartburn for reflux? Any thought?
located slightly behind and above Adam's apple area(just below base of tongue,Larynx); feeling of food being stuck, discomfort to mild pain in throat, difficulty swallowing and feeling as if when I do its going down my trachea and not esophagus, somewhat claustrophobic swollen feeling in throat quite severe at times, and even leading me to what I assume are mild panic attacks/very sore throat when rather severe. Then a somewhat normal feeling in the morning.
I'd get the feeling of food rising back up my esophagus about to the level of my Adam's apple. At first I though it was just stress, or what foods I was eating or how fast I ate, but not much of that seemed to make any difference. It got so bad that it usually made me vomit.

Hi, I did a day 5 ET with 2 blast. On days 6-8 I had some mild cramping which my RE said could be from implantation. Then on the day before my Beta test I had some nausea during the afternoon. Beta was done 11 days past ET and I got a BFP!!! Try not to worry to much, alot of people say they feel no symptoms at all and still get a BFP. Best of luck to you.
