Common Questions and Answers about Lump in lower lip

lump

Avatar n tn What you describe is a mucocele, which occurs if you inadvertently bite your lower lip and severe a minor salivary gland in the lip. They normally feel like tiny bumps on the inside of your lip- you can actually see them if you invert your lip (turn it inside out) and stretch it. When you bite through one, the saliva pools in the lip. It can be clear or turn darker. It is nothing to worry about and goes away on its own after a few days, provided you don't keep biting it.
Avatar n tn When the scar had healed initially I was left with a lump which is mostly on the wet part of my lower lip. This lump however can be seen at all times when the lips are open or when I smile and this is giving me some distress. The lump is only not visible when my lips are closed.
Avatar m tn Kindly let me know, if there is any other option other than Surgery. There is only one such lump in the lower lip. Is it possible to heal it through medicines only? Thanks once again.
Avatar n tn I woke up to find my lower lip swollen and the lump very tender. Then I noticed on the inside of my lip it appears the lump has ruptured. I was able to squeeze out some pus-like fluid and a fair amount of blood. The area is not as tender now, however still swollen, going on 2nd day.
Avatar f tn noticed a spot on lower left side of lip kind a looks like a blood cloth color something you would see after hitting your finger with a hammer by accident no lump does not hurt anyone have any ideas?
Avatar f tn Hello, This lump can be a small cyst, hematoma, mucocele (if present on the inside of lower lip) or a benign growth of the lips. Since the lump is painless and not changing in size, all these possibilities need to be evaluated. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps.
Avatar n tn I have a small, round lump inside my lower lip. It's not painful and if I didn't check for it I would've probably never noticed it. It's about 3 milimetres in diameter. It's been there for like 2 months now. I recall biting my lower lip several times by accident so I assumed it was the cause of it, but then I read about lip cancer and got scared. It isn't remotely similiar to the ones described as cancer, but I got scared regardless. Any idea what might e the cause of it?
Avatar m tn Hey guys well yesterday I had this encounter with a sex worker (received handjob, licked her nipples for ~1 sec, kissed her near her collar bone (where the neck meets shoulder) ) When I got home I found out my gum was slightly swollen (and it bled at night but anyway) this afternoon, I had this bump/lump on my lower lip i just sort of suddenly felt it. It isn't painful or red it sort of blends in with the colour of the lip.
Avatar m tn I have had coldsores for years. they never cause pain, just tingling in my lower left lip and always go away not to long after. On Sunday, I ate some food at a hot temperature and right after that i noticed a lump in my mouth, lower left cheek. It came out of the blue. I went to the DR who said it was a blister from the hot temperature of the food. The lump has gone down on its own.

Avatar f tn I have had a lump on my top lip for 9 days. It is not open, is not a blister and has not been crusty but is tender. It is not a cold sore because I have had one before. I am 46 years old and a non-smoker and non-drinker. I am worried it may be cancerous.

Avatar n tn I have this very small bump that will come up between my inner cheek and lower inner lip. it probably is really more the lower inner lip region. Anyway, it is a small bump that will come up every now and then. sometimes days apart and sometimes weeks or months. You can barely see it when looking for it. I can't burst it with my teeth but sometimes when I am sucking on my cheeks and lips it will burst and a salty taste will come out. and then it goes a way for a little while.
Avatar f tn Hi. I recently discovered a pea sized lump on the lower left vagina lip. According to other sites this could be a cyst and that I should drink paracetamol tablets for the pain it helps for a while then it hurts again . But in the last 2 days it has grown into the size of a grape and is extremely painful when sitting down or trying to walk around. I haven't had sex in like a year or masturbate so I can't be sexual. What is it ? And what should I be doing about it ?
Avatar n tn My daughter whom is 17months has a small bump (size of an on her lower lip. It seems to be lighter in color then her lips and turns white when I stretch her lips or press the area from the inside of her lip. The area seems harder then in comparsion to her lips. She has had it for a couple of months now. Her peditrician took a glance (at best) and said she bite her lip, it will go away. I am concern now because it seems to be affecting her worse.
Avatar m tn I had one small lump appear on the inside of my lower lip around 18 months ago. Around 2-3 months ago lots of small lumps appeared almost overnight under my lips. Now there are a significant number of lumps of different sizes, including some large, flat lumps, on my lower and upper inside lip, under the skin. It feels like a couple of the small lumps have grown into long, thin growths, again under the skin, inside my lip.

Avatar n tn I am suffering from a similar problem to yourselves. I also have a small, lump in my lower lip. This follows an accident I had (just under 2 years ago) whereby I collapsed, fell on the tiled floor in my bathroom and bit almost completely through my lower lip. I am deeply upset about my lip (as I also have a visible lump when I smile) and am considering surgery to my lip as well.
