Lump in groin cancer

Common Questions and Answers about Lump in groin cancer

lump

How large is that lump in your groin? How fat is it growing? There is a possibility that the groin lump represents metastatic spread of the stomach cancer to the lymph nodes around that area. If it has started to hurt, it may be impinging on certain structures in that area, such as nerves or blood vessels.
Ovarian Cancer Screening isn't really my topic, but I can't find one to fit my topic. Any way, I am fifteen years old and I have had three lumps in my groin in the past three to four months. The first time my obgyn told me that it was a swollen lymph node. The second time he said that it wasn't a swollen lymph node, but a simple bacterial infection. I don't think it's a swollen lymph node because it doesnt hurt. It can be an STD because I'm not sexually active and there's no discharge.
Hi Everyone, What a surprise today - instead of chemo I'm to have radiotherapy for enlarged lymph nodes in groin and pelvic area. CT Scan also organised. Unfortunately the blood test for CA 125 was not available but after a very thorough examination my oncologist decided on radio rather than chemo again to give my bone marrow a chance to make a good recovery. Has anyone had this? In answer to Jenny's question yes I have had all the recognised treatments for Ov.
On the 18th I had noticed a lump in the lymph node in my right groin. I'm not sure how long it had been there. It didn't hurt and it was about 1cm in size. The following week my doctor sent me for blood work and checked for diabetes, urine sample, STD's etc. and that came back normal as well. Last night I went back to the doctors and showed him the lump. (I figured that it was caused by an infection, but since the bloodwork came back normal...
If it were ovarian cancer, there would have to be masses on your ovaries, which would show in a sonogram. Did the doctor feel the lump in your groin? Could be lymph node.... Probably not cancer....but, if you are not happy with the response from your doctor...get a 2nd opinion.
Hi, I am concerned about a lump in my groin lower down on the thigh side of the crease between hich and hip (right of tisticle). Its probably 3 cms big and noticed this morning. It feels like a bruise and surrounding the lumps also feels bruised. Not had much luck on internet as all lumps in the groin I find are higher up with nymph nodes. I plyed golf yesterday in very hot temperature, and noticed in the evening that it felt bruised down there, like i had been cycling all day.
I hate to call it a lymph node for fear of causing a panic about cancer. If the lump is less than half an inch, if it moves around easily and is not tender it most likely is NOT cancer. For something like that, I often recommend observation. If it just sits there and doesn't increase in size, or change in any way, or if it goes away on its own, I don't worry about it. If t increases in size or becomes tender or inflamed or ulcerated, etc I would definitely have it looked at!
First of all I've had a lump in my groin about the size of a marble for over a year. No explanation. Excessive scar tissue and cyst on my left ovary. This is what I know. My question is that last week (in between cycles) I started having cramping and terrible pain in left ovary area. Now my belly is swollen, which is common as of lately, but very tender, and absoultely untouchable around my left ovary area. My jeans hurt, I can't lay face down, and moving in a certain way hurts there.
Hello, Since the lump is the size of a golf ball and you had cervical cancer, it needs evaluation. It can be a swollen lymph node, cyst or benign growth. However the best test for confirmation of this lump is a FNAB (fine needle aspiration biopsy) of the lump which should be got done after consulting a physician. FNAB is aspiration of the material of the glands which is done by a fine gauge needle (22 or 25 gauge) and a syringe.
I also feel pain in my lower abdomen right above the groin and i also feel pain in my lower back. i dont know whether the pain is due to overweightness or any male health issue. i also noticed my glans is turning to a purplish brown color. i have stopped masturbation completely now. I also felt a very very very small lump on my right testicle (size of a pebble) about 2 months ago. I AM VERY VERY WORRIED ABOUT THIS CONDITION... CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME??
And i know a hernia can do that from to much lifting, but im just trying to make sure its not anything deadly, like cancer. Prostate cancer does run in my family, my great grandmother past away from it. The more i think about about it the more i start to worry, my mom is setting my up with a doctor soon, but im trying to figure out sooner, because she really doesnt remember. It just slips her mind while she is at work to make me a doctor appointment. But thanks everyone just for reading this!

Hi, I finally saw a doctor. She told me that the lump in my neck (around a cm in the right of my upper larynx) is in an unusual place and that probably is a small lyph node but she was not really sure! She also told me that they do not normally examine these part of the neck for swelling and if I did not tell her she would have miss it.
2- still in the same area but if it started out as a lump it might be effecting the entire breast (so perhaps nipple and all); stage 3 is usually divided a bit more but really it's when the cancer starts to move- so it might be in the tissues near the breast (for example my grandma had stage 3 colon cancer and the tumor was on part of her bladder and vaginal cavity); and stage 4 which means that metastasized.
Hi, lymphoma in a node is almost always not painful. The pain comes when immune cells multiply to fight an infection, and push outward on the node's surrounding capsule. But cancer grows right through the outer covering and so doesn't cause pressure/pain. That plus the good sono means you shouldn't worry about lymphoma. Maybe your infection is still active. Do you have weakened immunity? I'd want another CBC, to rule out a kidney infection. Do you have fever? Or maybe it's just referred pain.
This was July 31, 2013. In september the testicle pain was gone but lump in the groin remained. it was causing pain in my hip, thigh, groin and right flank. I saw the doc again who said i was giving myself anxiety and that was causing the pain. the node will eventually go away. Again, in october I kept feeling the discomfort. I went to another doctor and we discussed my concerns. Now they have shifted to lymphoma. My doc and this new guy i saw both laughed it off.
If you did not have cancer in your uterus, it is unlikely that you have a cancer now. It is also unlikely to be related to a hydrosalpinx which is a swelling of the fallopian tube.
HI, I have noticed that I have a lump in my groin area right in the fold of my leg and vagina. It is almost in the shape of a varacose vein but it feels hard to the touch and and it is quite tender and will hurt if I press on it. And once in a while it will itch me and when I scrtach it, OH BOY! it hurts!!! I'm just waiting to get it checked out by my doctor but thought someone could give me an idea of what they think it could be...Cheers!
If a dog is spayed before the first heat cycle the odds of getting mammary cancer is zero. Lymph nodes are found in the groin typically usually not in the mammary gland itself. A simple test called a fine needle aspirate will yield the answer and then you will know if surgery is needed. Every time a female dog goes through a heat cycle the chances os mammary cancer gets greater so get the fine needle aspirate done ASAP.
I got very depressed about it, thinking I was going to lose her and that I also had breast cancer. Again, I saw a therapist and got better. In July, my mom was diagnosed again with cancer, and it was found to have spread to her liver, lungs and bones. She passed away at the age of 47 in October. My mom was my best friend and it has been devastating to lose her, but I thought I was dealing rather well with it. However, a few months ago, I started having a hard time sleeping.
But I would go to your doctor and let them know that you have a lump in your groin. Have them check both sides if your doctor does think it's a hernia cause sometime's where there is one there is another on the other side.
Hello about a few months ago I develoved what I thought was a ingrown pimple in my thight. About 6" below groin area and on my inseam. It slowly grew to the size of a large marble. Then in time it shrank to almost a pin head. It has repeatd this 3 times Everytime it is almost gone it comes back and gets big again.; My GP said its probably a cist. Not to worry about it.. But why does it keep almost go away then come back so large.
Was off the antibiotics for approximately 10 days when low and behold, 3 more popped up (1 in the armpit, 1 in the groin and another have mercy was in my privates). Back to the Dr., he said now I have to be on the antibiotic for 30 days and that he felt it was a staph infection. In addition, I've got to put bacitracin in my nose at bedtime for 3 weeks. He advised that staph is a common bacteria that everyone has on their body. It actually lives in the nose.
Also over the past two weeks I have had an increase of pain in left side of groin and lower back pain. Should I be concerned enough to go back to my urologist? What could be causing the pain?
Hi, I am a 28 yr old female, about two months ago, I notcied a swollen lymph node in right groin area, went to doctor, got all tests done as well as KAT scan and everything came back normal, not cancer but it was painful now it isnt, he gave me cream for flaky skin like rash but no luck, in water it gets darker, itches sometimes but not always, this lump really bothers me, I cant stop worrying about it! could the two be connected? shoudl I worry still?
There is one lymph node that is painful and about an inch in length and 1/2 inch wide (approx.) I wasn't aware of the others until he told us. He has scheduled a biopsy in 23 days, he is giong to be on vacation which is why they are scheduling so far out. He explained they are going to put her under a local and numb the area while they do the biopsy. I know that she's had it for at least a month and half.
My 11 yr old son received 4 shots on Friday afternoon (Td/Tdap, Hep A, Varicella, Meningitis). After a shower 24 hours later he had a painful lump and swelling in his armpit. It is now just over 48 hours after getting the shot and it is not getting any better. I just want to check to see if this allergic reaction or pain and swelling is a common side effect of at least one of these shots. Because of the timing of the soreness my husband and I feel it is related but not sure if it needs a dr.
