I have noticed that I have a hard lump in the arch of my right foot. I only have a little pain during the day but when I lay down to go to bed the pain is so bad that I need to take pain pills. My leg will throb so bad that it keeps me up most of the night. I have no medical insurance untill Dec 2011 so I have been very worried.
I have a lump on the inside of my foot. I can only feel it when I walk. I can not feel it on the outside of my foot. It has been there for about 3 weeks now. It seems to have gotten bigger. And now it is hurting a little when I walk. It's located right in the middle of my foot on the bottom just below my toes. Does anyone know what this is ? It is really starting to concern me. I have no insurance at the moment so unless I think it is serious I am avoiding going to go get it checked out.
My friend has had an allergic reaction on the arch of her foot due to the latex in shoes she has worn. This reaction has lingered for approximately 6 months. So, yesterday she gets this lump on the medial side of her foot around the malleolus. It feels warm and it hurts when she walks. What confuses me is that her joint does not hurt and it seems to shift in shape and size and it's red, but she can walk okay on it. Do you have any ideas about this one?
I can't even imagine the toll that it is all taking on you cree, but all I can recommend is just one foot in front of another, one thing at a time. No matter what the physical toll, or the emotional toll, you lean on your spirit and your faith. And lean on us.
I haven't injured the area, the foot hasn't swollen or become red and there is a slight dent in the skin between the lump and the ankle joint itself. Should I see a doctor about this? I don't know what this is or why I've got it, but the fact that it's causing symptoms is worrying me somewhat.
I have twisted the ankle a couple of times in a certain pair of flip flops I have. When I push in on the lump, it is kind of firm and feels "boney." I seen a dermatologist about it, but she said it felt "boney" and not of the skin. She felt it was a little small to be a ganglion cyst, but really didn't know what it was. She suggested seeing a PCP or orthopedic doctor. I really don't know what kind of doctor I should start with.
Hi, I'm a 29 year old female who found a small lump on the outside of my right foot about an inch under my ankle a few months ago. The lump is about 1 cm in size. The lump is kinda boney, and seems to transilluminate with a flashlight. Following your advice from a previous post, I recently seen a local orthopedic surgeon about it. In my medical records the doctor's diagnosis states: "No problems with the peroneal tendons seen.
theres about 100,000 people in my town and only a handful of bone doctors) However, when I got home, the first thing I did was rinse off the foot and clean it because it was all gross from the betadine/iodine, whatever was used. When I was cleaning the foot, I noticed that my lump was still there. The lump that I had had surgery for to remove....was still present. I felt it...pressed on, which hurt like hell, but it was rock hard. It felt just like my foot did before surgery!
Hello, I wrote in a question recently about a hard pea sized lump on top of my foot. I appreciate the answers I received and now I have another one. The lump is hard like bone and is not painful. It is located on the outside edge between my little toe and ankle. It may have been there awhile and I have just noticed it or it could be a new occurance. I went to my family physician today and he ordered an x-ray. The lump also does not move. The x-ray did not show anything.
3 days after being hit by the baseball we noticed he had a very hard lump on the side of his foot, the inside of his foot, between the big toe and ankle. It was very tender, and caused him to limp. This is the same leg he was hit in, but it is much lower than where he was actually hit. Doctor sent him for xrays which were normal, so we know nothing is broke. The lump itself is still tender, and hard, but he can walk and move his foot without pain now. Any ideas? Thank you!
(No injuries, no trauma). The lump does not hurt but my foot aches and it travels up to my ankle and almost up to my hip.I couldnt sleep last night because of the dull ache and cramps. I have tried to make an appointment with my Dr. However I cant get in utill Febuary. Should I be concerned that I will not be able to have it looked at untill Feb?

Along the outside of the foot seems to be some kind of long, thin lump sticking out, slightly. It's hard to see but you can feel it on that foot but not the other. It's almost like a bone but not. He also told me that it appears to have grown, that it started out a small lump. Again, he denies injuring it and said it's hard to describe, just that there's something not right there. I suggested he get it checked out and he said maybe he would next week.
Hi, have been to a doctor to have it checked out? There are many bones in the foot as well as nerves. Have you hurt it in any way?
but what I need to know if there is a lump that goes with this problem. The lump is in my heel just where the heel starts.
the arch in my right foot has been hurting for about a week now, last night i felt a lump in this spot. the pain has been steadily increasing. what would cause this?
Today is the fourth day of the itching, but now I have a big lump on the bottom of my foot. It doesn't really hurt, but it feels like I am walking on a ball. The itchy spots typically don't have any redness or bumps, however yesterday I started seeing light red splotches where it itched and on my arm I was seeing small welts as though I had a mosquito bite, although I know I don't have a bite because I watched my arms as the welts appeared.
After a holiday in Barbados, an area on the ball of my foot bagan to itch. There was no sign of any infection or splinter that could be seen. Despite applying creams and taking a course of anti biotics it is still itching as much as before. The scratching has caused inflamation around the area but apart from that there are no clues as to what is causing the problem. I am kept awake by the tingling and desperately need some advice as my doctor and chiropodist seem to have no idea.
I read another comment on this website from a Podiatrist that said hernias can't occur in the foot. Basically, my left foot (inner arch area) is a lump that protrudes in and out of my foot when you press on the arch of my foot. It hurts to some degree as well. My podiatrist told me that I probably have a tear in the plantar fascia area or tendons/ligaments in that area and it caused a hernia. Can someone please give me some insight? Thank you.
When no one called my husband the next day, he called the doctor's office, was told his foot was not broken and come in to the office on Monday (12/2). He went to the office; the doctor hardly looked at this foot and gave him a 'return to work' slip to return to work on Tuesday (12/3). His foot has turned all colors of purple from bruising, but there is still a lump on his foot. It is rather red and the redness radiates out from it. He said it was soft, but it has now become a hard lump.
I got up early in the night and initially it painful putting weight on my foot, however after a few steps the pain decreased. On getting up this morning the lump on my foot has disappeared, however I have some redness stretching from about 1cm below my big toe to just above my ankle. It is tender to touch however not painful to walk on. I have only slight tenderness in my lower leg now. Please could you advise what this could be and if I need to see anyone.

Hi My brother has a lump/tumour on the bottom of his foot behind the large toe knuckle on the inside of the foot, I've looked this up and found something about plantar fibromatosis and it pretty much seems to be that (his is about 4cm x 3cm) What I would like to know is is it a problem he should bother going to get checked out?
It can also be dislocations. You need to show this to a podiatrist. Meanwhile dip feet in warm water, massage the foot with a massage cream or oil and wear comfortable shoes. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history.

I had what looked like a small circular hole in my foot, an extreme brusing feeling, it became so painful to walk on after a few days I thought perhaps I still had a sliver in my foot. I tweezed a little white thing out of my foot, then soon after I noticed a small callus forming with a reddish color around it, the bruising feeling continued and became much worse.
