I have a quarter size lump in my armpit and I am breastfeeding, but I am positive it is not there because my milk is backed up. It has been since I was pregnant with my second child, now my third child is 8 months old (I have breastfed all of them) and it is still there. It is not painful, but it does seem to have been getting bigger lately. Any ideas on what this could be?
Hi i'm 21 years old overweight woman. I've been having a lump in my right armpit and it really hurts. The first time i found it was months ago and that time it burst and kinda gone but sometimes it would appear again in my armpit (but not on the same spot), sometimes in my left armpit. I've been using ichthyol cream and doesn't seem to make it all gone.
as for my breasts, I never felt any pain on my breast or find a lump.
should i be worried?

About 2 years ago I noticed a lumpy thickening in my left armpit as well as a large grainy lump on my neck on the right side. I was actually more afraid about the lump on my neck than with my armpit, mainly because I've suffered from swollen lymph nodes on and off my whole life (asthma as well as allergies) so I figured my armpit was more or less related to that.

The most prevalent cause of a lump in the armpit is infection. An infection can be localized to the armpit itself (perhaps a nick from shaving) or it can be more widespread.. you may also have a boil or abscess just under the skin.
If it's a swollen lymph node,this could be caused by an infection somewhere in the body.
Hi im new to this, and im really worried, i found a lump in my armpit that hurts when i press it, i found it when i was nearly 6 months pregnant, i had an ultrasound scan on it and the doctor said that he thought it was just breast tissue that has develpoed under my armpit and that because i have no lumps in my breast i shouldnt worry and that it will more than likly go when im breast feeding or when ive given birth.
So ive just noticed a lump in my right armpit. I know it can be glands etc and nothing to worry about. But people have told me it shouldnt hurt and it is. Not extremely painful but enough to irritate me and remember its there. You can also notice it by just looking. I will be making a doctors appointment for at the end of the week but just wanna know if I should worry or not.

I am a 19 year old male. I recently discovered when i raise my right arm, there is a 'lump'. However, i cannot tell whether it is normal as in a muscle or bone from my shoulder area or indeed a lump. I can see it when i raise my arm straight up, and it is kinda in the area where the arm meets the center of the armpit. It is rather large, around a golf ball size. On my left arm there is a very similar 'lump' but just a slight bit smaller.
I woke up last week with a very painful, golf ball sized lump in my armpit. I went straight to the doctor and he said it isnt a lymph node, and he cut into it to test for staph. the staph test came back negative and he packed it full of gauze for 2 days. When i went back to have the guaze removed, it was still huge and painful, so he sent me to the hospital for an ultrasound.
2 years back I has lump in my left armpit, and doctor said it's jst axillary tail of Spence and gave me evening primrose oil tablets.....initial one year,i Nvr had any pain.its just soft lump...from one year I'm suffering a lot wit grt discomfort in left arm for couple of days a mnth,nt alwys.and smetyms discomfort in lump also....and nw I'm 28 weeks pregnant n scared....the lump in soft n same size frm 2 yrs....

I went to the doctor and she felt it and said she was not to concerned about it, but was making me get a mammogram since I had never had one and am 51 years old. I had the mammogram and the tech asked if I had any symptoms and I told her about the lump in my armpit. She said she would try to get it in the mammogram.
I'm fourteen. A few months ago I had gotten a lump in my right armpit. It was hard, from what I remember. I don't think that I did anything about it (sorry, my memory isn't the best so I'll try my best for details) and it went away after a while. Then another one came back in the same armpit. (weird huh?) okay, a swollen lump not so far away from my armpit. It is about the size of a coin not so big and not too small, It is painful to touch (even the slightest touch hurts)
Do you think this is an std related symptom?
