I woke up last week with a very painful, golf ball sized lump in my armpit. I went straight to the doctor and he said it isnt a lymph node, and he cut into it to test for staph. the staph test came back negative and he packed it full of gauze for 2 days. When i went back to have the guaze removed, it was still huge and painful, so he sent me to the hospital for an ultrasound.
I am having this lump in my armpit which was painful at first and then after few days there was secretions from it ... yellowish smelly fluid.... i started taking antibiotics .... the smell went away though the discharge is still there but its colorless..... the lump is near the junction ... and there are two open holes one on the upper side and one on the lower side through which secretion comes out .... and the adjoining area is red and hard to touch ....
I went to doctor today and he told me that one is pimple and other is staph (something in that nature), he told me that people are getting it everywhere, it's a skin disease. I asked him whether it's lymph node and he said it's not. He said that lymph node would be pea sized, the staph lump was bean sized. He said it was trying to fight infection and that's why I got that bump. He treated me with "Bactrim DS" and "Doxycycline Hyclate".
my lymphs are swollen in both armpit exact location, they're painless. My doc says its fat, but I never had this before.
Is this viral. it's harmless painless lump both armpit. I check the net and only viral causes this.
I found a lump on the side of my armpit i found it 2 days ago while showering it has a small pea sized red flat head to it but when you touch it its very hard and feels about the size of a gumdrop its also somewhat painfull when i poke at it im wondering could this be a boil or something more serious the only think i can remebr before getting the lump was shaving my underarm and getting a small cute also right before i discoverd the lump i had a reall bad headache like 3 dyas before is this some
Hi i'm 21 years old overweight woman. I've been having a lump in my right armpit and it really hurts. The first time i found it was months ago and that time it burst and kinda gone but sometimes it would appear again in my armpit (but not on the same spot), sometimes in my left armpit. I've been using ichthyol cream and doesn't seem to make it all gone.
as for my breasts, I never felt any pain on my breast or find a lump.
should i be worried?

about a week ago I had 2 small pea size bumps under the the right armpit no pain. I tried to pop them thinking they were pimples but they are deep in the tissue. I get a red inflamation in my armpit a few times a year. It does not itch. It feels and looks like a burn but does not blister and has no pus or anything that oozes from it. It starts small and hen the inflamation makes a red circle around the entire armpit.
I put Neosporin ointment on it the last time this occurred for 4 days. The redness and burning went away, Then the skin became very dry and scaley where it was red and the skin flaked off and it healed.
I've been on antibiotics three times in the last five months. Once for severe sinusitis, once for an infected lump in my armpit, and now for a staph infection on the back of my neck that's spread (painfully) to the mastoid region behind my right ear.
I've been checked for diabetes (my A1C came back at 5.8), and my liver enzymes were high enough that the ER doc suggested a liver function test once the infection clears up.
A little over a month ago, a lump started growing in my left armpit. It was hot, tender, painful, and eventually about the width of a quarter. About a week later, it started decreasing in size, until it shrunk to about the size of a dime. By then it was no longer hot or painful, barely noticeable. Then at about 3 weeks it began growing again, not painful, but noticeably larger. After a few days, it started shrinking again. As of right now, it is currently increasing in size, but not extremely.
I'm very concerned... I noticed a couple years back a lump in my right armpit, I believe where the lymphnodes are. But, I felt maybe I was being too cautious considering my best friend who was only 33years old was diagnosed with breast cancer. She is a survivor but is alway concerned with me. I have no health insurance anymore due to my husband losing his job. And recently I've been experiencing pain where the lump is and my nipple are scaling and peeling on that side.
