lump

Avatar_m_tn About a month ago while shaving my armpit, I noticed a very small (less pea size) lump right in the center of my armpit. I know that when I or my doctor examines my armpit for lymph nodes my arm is relaxed and lowered near my side and the area being examined in deeper in the armpit. This lump is at or very near the surface, maybe even in the skin, and can be felt when I gently run my finger over the skin of my armpit with my arm is raised and the armpit skin it taut.
Avatar_n_tn Hi, Usually painful lumps are not indicative of breast cancer, but any lump in the armpit is concerning. It could be a swollen lymph node which can enlarged due to shaving, waxing, using a deodarant and other infectious causes. If this lump persists more than 2 weeks and does not decrease in size.It would be better to consult your doctor for evaluation.
Avatar_f_tn Now i stopped taking valtrex and i get a mild pain in armpits after i shave a week ago and had a lump on my right arm almost sure it is lymph node from what im reading in the internet. The lump is 1cm not big at all but it hurts. This was last week thursday, i applied warm water and stopped shaving and took a valtrex and a keflex, the next day the bump went down and the right armpit is so much better.
Avatar_f_tn I woke up this morning and my armpit was swollen and i have a lump there. This has happened before and i always goes away. It is sore. I am really scared and i am unsure of what to do. I work a demanding job as a police officer and it is impossible to get into a dr for a few days. It hurts into the right side of my neck. That is the same arm that is swollen.
Avatar_f_tn I have a small lump in my armpit and it feels like its bruised.. any ideas what it is??? Its pretty small and tender.
Avatar_f_tn The tender lump on your armpit could be a beginning localized infection like an abscess. The armpit is prone to develop infection especially after shaving or when there is too much sweating. There is a condition known as hidradenitis suppurativa which involves the sweat glands of the underarm and groin. It would be best to see you doctor for further evaluation. Take care.
Avatar_f_tn The first time i found it was months ago and that time it burst and kinda gone but sometimes it would appear again in my armpit (but not on the same spot), sometimes in my left armpit. I've been using ichthyol cream and doesn't seem to make it all gone. as for my breasts, I never felt any pain on my breast or find a lump. should i be worried? thankyou so much.
Avatar_n_tn Was off the antibiotics for approximately 10 days when low and behold, 3 more popped up (1 in the armpit, 1 in the groin and another have mercy was in my privates). Back to the Dr., he said now I have to be on the antibiotic for 30 days and that he felt it was a staph infection. In addition, I've got to put bacitracin in my nose at bedtime for 3 weeks. He advised that staph is a common bacteria that everyone has on their body. It actually lives in the nose.
Avatar_f_tn HI, I'm a 23 year old female. I have had a small pea-sized lump in my left armpit for... a long time. I really can't remember for how long I've had it now, it could be as much as a year, or as little as 4 months. At first I though it was just an ingrown hair from shaving/waxing and as I do for other bumps of this kind, I've been waiting for a sign of the hair to surface or a 'whitehead' so to speak, to form so that I could clear it out with a needle if it didn't go on it's own.
Avatar_f_tn A little over a month ago, a lump started growing in my left armpit. It was hot, tender, painful, and eventually about the width of a quarter. About a week later, it started decreasing in size, until it shrunk to about the size of a dime. By then it was no longer hot or painful, barely noticeable. Then at about 3 weeks it began growing again, not painful, but noticeably larger. after a few days, it started shrinking again. As of right now, it is currently increasing in size, but not extremely.
Avatar_f_tn You can place some in a container in the fridge to get rid of odors, put some in your shoes to get rid of nasty smells. These are just a few uses, you can also use it in baking, cleaning and all sorts. If you get any more of those nasty lumps, go to the doc asap for an investigation and an antibiotic if required. Magnesium sulphate can be used as a drawing ointment, but only when the skin is not broken.
550509_tn?1214925164 I woke up this morning and noticed that i have a lump in my armpit...now, i've never had this happen to me, i'm now 24 years old. This is rather startling, i'm not sure if it's caused by stress or what the deal is, but is it this something i need to be concered about?
Avatar_f_tn I have a painful lump in my armpit..I had an ultrasound that was negative and my PMD is happy with that but I am not. I am still having pain and sometimes it feels like the pain goes down my arm...please ease my mind.
925243_tn?1251483645 The other day, after my shirt had been digging in to my armpit in that same spot myself, the area began to feel a little bit tender. Upon further inspection yesterday, I noticed that it is indeed very tender to the touch, warm, swollen (mostly after I had been fussing with the little lump and the area), and that there is a very small lump in the fatty tissue and the area of skin above it is pink and raised.
Avatar_n_tn i am 27 tears old and about 12+ months ago i notice a tiny spot under my armpit after a few weeks the spot became bigger in size about the size of a pea. i squeezed it to see if was a spot and doing this caused stuff to come out of it it was very thick whitish/yellowish stuff,i thought that would be it gone.I still have the spot/lump.
Avatar_f_tn hi, about a year ago I noticed a lump in my right armpit, also before I noticed it , I had a clumsy little fall & had a big cut on my ankle & got a abscess near it. I admit I didn't treat the area well. I went to check it out at the doctor ( the armpit boil ) , and he said it was a boil & put me on antibiotics. It didn't really help, I don't think I followed the guidelines right. that one drained soon after.
1939607_tn?1324292900 The rash wasn't inflammed, it had just left my armpits scaly and dry. I waited for 2-3 hours after shaving before putting deodorant. On Saturday and Sunday (the day before yesterday and yesterday) my armpits (especially the left one) felt rather itchy so I didn't shave, I just put deodorant on. This morning, I noticed that I have the pink rash again on my left underarm. To make matters worse, it is itchy and I can detect a tiny little lump where my two cuts used to be.

Avatar_n_tn They are usually enlarged when a new deodorant is used, after shaving or waxing the underarm area. In your case the cut could also be responsible for the underarm lumps. You should avoid using a deodorant, shaving or waxing the area for a few days and try to maintain good personal hygiene. Wear lose , comfortable clothes and take a pain relief medication if the pain is severe. Have you got an ultrasound done as yet and have you got a clinical examination got done by a physician?
Avatar_n_tn I noticed a while ago a painful lump in my left armpit and went to the doctor to get it checked out. she didn't see or feel anything, but it had kinda gone away by the time i got in to see her. it's back again, but there are a couple bumps this time and they are like under the skin, but this time they are red and sore. i tried not using deodarent and not shaving, but nothing seems to work. it's not really a rash and it's not itchy, and i haven't used any new cosmetics or anything.
Avatar_f_tn Hi! Pain in the armpit without a lump can be due to heat intolerance and due to sweat dermatitis. It is also possible due to peripheral artery disease. Peripheral neuropathies as in diabetes, chemical burns due to any deo or lotions you use, peripheral nerve compression are the other possibilities. It can even be a referred pain from breast due to fibroadenosis. Just check and see if the pain in worse in certain times of your menstrual cycle. These possibilities should be looked into.
Avatar_n_tn The day after my last period finished a swelling appeared around my left armpit area. It is quite large and visible to anyone looking. It doesnt hurt in any way and is soft and spongy to the touch but when i press down on it i can feel something deep inside. Its kind of hard to explain but it feels like a long line with ridges on it. When i lift my arms above my head it totally vanishes.

Avatar_m_tn I noticed this red lump in my arm pit yesturday after sitting in my car for about 4 hours. Its super sore to the touch! when I extend my arm it feels like it is being pulled and when i just hold it normally like it feels like i'm pushing on it.. Avatar_n_tn I found a lump under my left armpit tonight and am very worried. It hurts when you touch it and when I move my arm or just put my arm at my side. It is the same color as my skin with a pale pink center. There is a hair in the center (can't pluck it, it's not long enough, it's right at the surface) and I am not shaving it right now, too afraid it will get worse. I did try to squeeze it and that really hurt and made it slightly bigger.
441182_tn?1204777614 For the first time in my 44 years of life, i have developed under my left armpit some bumps that are like raised moles and colored blackish purple. They don't itch and I actually almost got rid of them when I washed my armpit with head and shoulders shampoo. after not paying attention to them for about 3 weeks while I recovered from the flu, they were back and had spread even more under my armpit! Could it be fungus, or cancer or what? This discussion is related to <a href='http://www.
Avatar_n_tn about 3 nights ago, I awakened with a painful sensation in my left axillary region. My shirt was pulled tight there, so I thought it was trauma to a lymph node. I could feel a pea- sized lump. Since then it has grown to about 2 cm by 1 cm. , and 1 cm in height. It is red and very tender. It is hard to the touch. I have no fever, and no obvious infections on my arm, hand, or chest. I placed topical cortisone oinment and antibiotic cream. Any ideas for differential diagnosis?
