Avatar f tn For about a month now I have had this hard knot located behind my ear, its very, very sensitive. Also, I have noticed that I have been getting headaches frequently and its very hard for me to concentrate now. I don't know if that is because of the knot.. I have been researching seeing what this could be and all I have found is cyst or a tumor. So, please tell me what you think this is. I'm very worried, I am fifteen. I am planning to go to the doctor soon.
Avatar n tn Hi, welcome to the forum, you need to let the ear piercing heal first. In the phase of healing you have inserted the ear ring which has caused further injury to the site. Now there seems to be formation of a granulation tissue which is a result of injury. This tissue is responsible for lump like sensation. You need to keep thick sterile ring in the ear lobe until it heals completely. After the healing, you can remove it and use whenever needed.

Avatar f tn About 8 days ago she went to the doctor with strep-throat. Now today I noticed she has a lump behind her right ear, should I be concerned? I read it could just be her body fighting the infection. Should I get her to the doctor or should I just keep an eye on the lump for a few days? She is 8 years old.

Avatar m tn Hey everyone, I am hoping you can help me figure out what this lump is behind my ear is. Not literally on my ear, but when you feel behind your ear, the bony part. about an inch or 1.5 inches away from my ear there is a painless lump (circular) about the size of a blueberry. It is difficult to tell if it is hard or squishy so I can't really say. All I can say is that it has been there for about a month maybe more. Has not grown is size that ive noticed.

Avatar m tn I have a semi-hard lump directly behind my ear resting on the bone right behind my ear. It feels almost like cartilage. It used to be about the size of a pimple, but it just keeps getting larger. I recently checked it and it is about an inch in length now. The lump occasionally itches and seems to just keep growing. It doesn't hurt at all and is slightly movable. Any thoughts on what this might be??? Anyone worried??

Avatar f tn Hiya, I've had a lump behind my left ear for a about 3-4 weeks now.. It's small & hard & it isn't sore or tender at all.. I had a cold about 3 weeks ago so I presumed it was something to do with that, & my Dr. said it was when I went to see him, however, my cold has been & gone & all that's left is a sore throat.. But it isn't sore all the time, just at night when I'm sleeping?

Avatar n tn Hi, I am a 20 year old male. I have had a hard lump behind my right ear for years now...at least 4 or 5. It feels like part of my skull but it is not on the left side of my head so i know that it's not. I asked my doctor about it when i was younger and he said it was a swollen lymph node and should go away at some point. It never did, however, it also never caused me any discomfort so i never got it looked at again.
Avatar m tn My daughter has a lump behind her right ear about the size of a dime. When I first notice the lump, it was smaller than a pencil eraser. There is some discomfort when the area is touched at times, and sometimes there is more swelling. She has complained with ear aches as well as headaches for 4+ months now and I have repeatedly taken her to the doctor. Ever visit, the doctor has said that her ear is healthy and normal.
Avatar m tn My son has had a lump behind his ear ever since he was a baby. I asked the doctor about it when he was younger and he did not seem concerned. He is 17 now and still has a lump there. Should I be concerned?
Avatar f tn Painless lump behind the ear could be Lump behind the ear could be folliculitis (hair follicle infection), lipoma (localized collection of fat), a cyst, an inflamed lymph node or a neurofibroma (localized harmless swelling in of nerve and connective tissue). Watch the lump. Do not touch everyday but once in 10-15 days. If the lump increases in size, becomes painful, changes color, bleeds, changes shape or consistency or more similar lumps appear then consult a doctor. Hope this helps.

Avatar f tn During the process I was signing things and he was doing stuff behind me. He did put on a pair of gloves, clean my ear, and then open up new packages. He explained to me how to clean it and was very stern when he told me. Im worried Sick I never in that situation realised the risk I put myself in Let's say the worst case scenario: Lets say the guy SOMEHOW plucked himself while I wasn't looking with Hiv positive blood...

Avatar f tn I developed a small hard lump behind my left ear almost 12 years ago. At the time we went to the doctors and they told me it was just a cyst and to come back if it got larger and or painful. Fast forward to now and the lump is now quarter size and is so large it makes my glasses crooked on my face.
Avatar f tn I have a 5 year old son who has a hard lump behind his ear. It is rather large but has caused him no symptoms. He's not complaining about anything hurting. He has had a problem in the past with swollen lymph nodes in his neck but I've never seen one behind his ear like this one. I'm a very parnoid mom. We adopted him from overseas and have very little health info on him. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
