lump

Avatar f tn It is causing my left ear hearing loss as well. Also, I just notice a lump behind my ear on the bone. I’m experiencing dry bloody nose, really fatigue and extreme fullness on my right ear.
868575 tn?1250188018 Recently noticed it is a little larger, and irritating or irritated by my hearing BTE hearing aids. I can not wear headbands, my hearing aid or anything behind my ear because of it. I wanted to have the lump removed. It is about 4cm in diameter, very hard, normally painless, and immobile. A doctor a year ago suggested it was just a cyst and nothing to bother with. I have also been very ill for 3 years without an explination yet.
Avatar n tn I now have red lumps on back of tongue (both sides) with a feeling of lump in back of throat (have felt this for some time but now feeling sore
Avatar m tn I rushed to a doctor on landing and was told that accumulation of fluid has taken place behind the ear drums caused by differential pressure. I was also told that it should automatically cure by itself in a few weeks. He had also advised some antibiotics as a preventive action against possible infection arising out of accumulation of fluid. He also prescribed nasal drops in facilitating inhalation of air to the middle ear.
Avatar f tn Progressively it has been getting worse.. My vertigo is so crippling sometimes and my hearing loss has gotten to the point I have to wear hearing aids. I have noticed over the past few days that I am getting more waves or vertigo and the normal pain in my ears has doubled. I just discovered a lump on my mastoid bone ( behind my ear on the skull ) its hard and in does not move.
4514211 tn?1355731138 i woke up this morning with a big lump behind my right ear its very sensitive and painful its more of a pressure type pain.i think its a swollen lymph node but im not sure.
Icecream Then when I did my LEFT ear I did the same thing clean it and it my hearing got blocked. I did not think it would happen again to the left ear. As of today ever since Monday my left ear IS NOT WORKING. Especially the day that I cleaned it, up to today -Tuesday. I still cannot hear. It is very bad blockage. I bought Debrox (ear wax cleaner) and it's not working well. I didn't have ear wax, but I am strangely deaf in my left ear now?
Avatar n tn t answer your question as to whether fluid in the middle ear is by itself good enough to rule out sensorineural hearing loss. Sudden sensorineural hearing loss is rare and middle-ear fluid is common, so doctors are going to assume that fluid is the cause. Hopefully an audiologist will weigh in here.
Avatar n tn IF you had antibiotics as a proactive prophylaxis against the bacterial STIs they can account for minor ear infections and hearing loss. Antibiotics are Ototoxic, particularly the ~mycins (in fact they use the stronger ones to kill the hearing to treat Menieres Syndrome) . A lump in the neck isn't necessarily ominous - I've had a lump in the left of my neck (on an off, particularly after a heavy weekend) since before my risk. It's a muscle.
Avatar n tn I attributed this to sleeping on that side and tucking my hair behind my ear. When I found a lump right behind my ear lope but on my neck, that was large and visible, I became worried and went to the doc. The day before my appoint, poof my ear was completely back to normal. Doc couldnt tell anything said might have been a severe ear infection and come back if it returns. Just over a week later it returned, super itchy, hot and lumpy, including lump behind the lobe.
Avatar f tn Doctors do not understand all of the causes of sudden hearing loss, so it is hard to predict who will recover their hearing and how much. Did the audiologist give you any advice or suggestions? Are you a candidate for a hearing aid or BAHA?
Avatar m tn 5 at night cauce I cant sleep more then 3 hours at a time.my vision is off aligned, and very slow to focus, loss of hearing in right ear, every one keeps telling me maybe I had a clott/ stroke, my blood pressure is excellet, What tests can I have done to see if I have a brain injury,, and is that not what a concusion is?
Avatar m tn He needs to know whether you have a CONDUCTIVE hearing loss (a problem in the outer ear or the middle ear) or a SENSORINEURAL (nerve) hearing loss, which would indicate a problem with the inner ear. The hearing test will give him this information. Then he will know how to try to treat your problem. If the blockage goes away when you tilt your head, it is probably some kind of conductive or Eustachian tube problem, but it is very important to rule out inner-ear problems.
Avatar m tn No discharge is coming out of the ear. My left ear down to the left side of my jaw has this strange feeling to it as well, even behind my left ear had this strange feeling. Perhaps a very light, ringing but that's questionable since I don't notice it all the time. My hearing though seems fine. In both ears. Any possibilities of what this could be?
Avatar f tn hi i was jjust wondering if the pain runs down your neck after it hits the back of your ear and if you have had your hearing tested lately. this type of pain has happened to me on occassion and i try to have a hearing test as close as possible. they have found since getting a base point that each time this happens i lose a little bit of hearing. so far they haven't had a way of preventing the hearing loss but who knows?
1485372 tn?1359545131 Wow! I would probably get a second opinion. If his ears are feel clogged up and he is having dizziness it sounds like he has fluid in his inner ear. If that's the case they should do a myringotomy (make a small incision in the ear drum and take out the fluid. The doctor may also want to put tubes in but it's not always necessary if it's not a recurring problem) The procedure takes 15-30 minutes in the office. I would just see another ENT and tell him/her all of the symptoms!
Avatar n tn Last week, I noticed a painful to the touch lump on the back of my ear exactly where it connects to my head. I applied a hot towel to it thinking it might be a boil. This did not help, it only made it more inflamed. I forgot about it until yesterday when I was showering washing behind the ears with soap when I felt two more lumps (that are not painful) behind the ear on the neck area. I am Hypothyroid and last year I was experiencing throbbing in the ear.
Avatar m tn Considering that around 80% of all those over 60yrs old have some type of hearing loss, and considering around 90% of them have tinnitus, and then considering how many overwieght 60+ year olds there.... I do not see a link between tinnitus and an increase in metabolisim. That said, I think you may be going through some depression and in your case, this is your response to it. Furhter, if this would have been a gradual onset, I doubt you would have responded so severely to it.
Avatar f tn I did ask my doctors and all they said was, "nothing looks damaged in there." When someone with a deeper voice is speaking to me, or if I am on the phone my ear drum will start vibrating very hard. It is getting painful. It is only the right ear. My son right now has the pitch in his voice that makes it worse. I was hearing music the other day and I had to plug that ear. It comes and goes. Does anyone else have an ear drum that is going crazy?
Avatar f tn I started having pulsatile tinnitus in my left ear back in the summer with hearing loss. My ENT ran a battery of test and I've had MRI' s and CT scans ran to rule out accoustic neuroma. My question is she ran several blood test that came back quite high and somehow I believe they are related to my problem. EBV PANEL EBV VCA IgG >8.0 EBV NA IgG >8.0 EBV EA IgG >8.0 HSV I&II IgG 33.1 HSV IgM I&II .99 V ZOSTER IGG 1.
Avatar f tn There is simply no way to know whether you had a nerve hearing loss or a conductive hearing loss without a full examination. My blog entry discusses how a tuning fork can help your primary care physician decide whether you need rapid ENT referral. Often hearing losses after upper respiratory infections are due to fluid, but unfortunately I have seen too many patients with nerve hearing losses (not treated properly) that were misdiagnosed as fluid behind the eardrum.
