Lump behind ear itchy

Common Questions and Answers about Lump behind ear itchy

Thursday evening when i took off my glasses it was kind of itchy behind my right ear. I just thought it was from my glasses but Friday morning I had a big lump behind my ear. it was about 2 inches long and kind of bean shaped. At the base of it, it was softer but sore if i rubbed it and the top of it was harder but didn't hurt at all. It also was a little itchy. We had a big function at our church this weekend that we were very involved in so i couldn't get it checked out.
but now it has swollen up and hurts a lot on and around the lump and i am having pain in my ear canal also. the lump is a little bigger then a pea. i can't see it, since it's along the bone behind my ear, so my fiance had a look at it and says it's red and looks infected. i also have a lump on the left side of my pelvis, which is also red and sore and my fiance says its starting to go purple.
i looked where it hurt and there is a hard bump/lump behind her ear on the bone part (not on the ear itself). i touched it and it hurts. it's about as big as an eraser on top of a pencil or a pea. it is not red or anything (skin color). i get very worried about these kind of things and will give her dr. a call but in the mean time i was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to what it may be? like i said, i am worried.
Hi. I've had what appears to be a boil behind my right ear lobe. It sore, warm and slightly itchy. What worries me is right below it is sore, my right side neck area. The last few days that area also feels like it is getting a hard lump under my skin, but this lump is not sore, warm like the boil behind my ear. My right side upper shoulder/neck is also sore. When I turn my head right it is sore. I'm not really sure what this all means. Do you think I should go to the doctor?
I am really concerned about these lumps that I have behind my ear. The area is all red and it feels like one of the lumps is acyst but the others are like raised red bumps, like they are on the surface of the skin. I went to the ENT because they hurt and I was getting headaches and this band like feeling on my skull. Well he put me antibiotics and told me it was an infected cyst that I was probably born with. He said it was not swollen lymph nodes or anything cancerous.
I also have these problems. I have a small lump behind each ear but the 1 behind the right ear is bigger. I am also getting headache, earache and have a sore throat. I went to the doctor 3 days ago and they said it was a throat infection and the lumps were just lymph nodes. I dont see how a throat infection would give me headache and earach. He gave me antibiotics but they dont seem to be helping. I am going back to the doctor tomorrow as I am very scared now.
I'm 18 years old and have recently become concerned about a hard painless lump that has been behind my ear for quite a few years now. I noticed that I also have a few painless lumps just along my hairline behind the same ear which I think must have appeared recently because I've never noticed them before. They are all about the size of a jelly belly. I've also been very fatigued for the past few months but attributed it to having just finished high school/starting college.
Just over a week later it returned, super itchy, hot and lumpy, including lump behind the lobe. So I got to to doc, she said yea the lump behind the ear is lymp nod and fighting it off. She also told me that if it was cancer or anything bad my other lymph nods would be flared up. She gave me steroid cream and told me to use it twice a day. I did that for about 3 weeks, everything was normal and bam! Another 3 weeks later and its all back.
Hello, behind the ear there is skin, fat, cartilage, bone, nerves, blood vessels, Lymph nodes, and salivary gland tissue (a portion of the parotid salivary gland extends behind the ear). A bump can develop from any of those structures, and could be due to a tumor (benign or not), an infection (Lymph node or skin), a swollen muscle or salivary gland, etc. My suggestion would be to wait it out for a few weeks to see if it changes in size. If it gets smaller, it was nothing.
With all this in mind, i believe strongly the itchy ear, crusty problem is YEAST INFECTION in the ear (but not for all cases). What the doctors say concern me not (i have had serveral okay ear checks since the problem began). Look, your health is in your own hands - take what the docs say with a grain of salt and backup their talk with your own research - you can be as "smart" as they are and you definately know your body better they do.
I have a swollen one (for over a year now from when I noticed it) behind my left ear (hard and small) and another one under my jaw (left side) soft and moveable. I had been concerned about lymphoma or throat cancer. I saw int doc & ent doc and had bloodwork which came back normal and both doctors were not concerned stating that your lymph nodes are infection fighters and I possibly could have had an infection at one time in my life and they just never returned to normal.
Reading through these messages I am relieved to know that I am not the only one with the itchy ear problem. I have 8 nodules, 4 on each side. I have talked to the doctor over and over about the ears itching and he keeps saying it's allergies and has me take antihistamines. They don't work, ears still itch. The lowering of the voice, itchy ears, pain/muscle spasms in front of throat, none of these things seem to hit home with my Endo. Last TSH was .

My problem in the left side of my head has come back after being silent for a short time in summer. I have pain sometimes under the ear, sometimes in or behind the ear. here i for the last 6 months i have had itchy eye doctor told me it was due to mild allergies and prescribed eye drops which didnt help in the least so i turned to over the counter allergy medicine which hasn't helped either (so i dont think it's allergies) and in the last 3 weeks not only are my eyelids itchy but when i wake up in the morning my upper eye lids are bright red and swelled up so bad that its embarassing!!!!
I don't get them anywhere besides my bikini line (and occasionally behind my ear if I sleep with earring in) and think it is more associated with shaving and confining clothes than anything. And perhaps an infection in my nostrils. I will have to keep you posted on that one.
39, MWM, USA I have what I would consider a small, but noticable, lump behind my left ear. It's right there on that bone... I believe that it's consistent with a post-auricular lymph node. I'd estimate 1cm x 1cm, maybe 0.5 cm high. It's so small that I can't figure out the texture. It's not soft and squishy like a pea, but I don't think that it's hard as a rock, either. I can't figure out from the internet what would cause such a thing.
Flakes are large and silvery. I also have a pea sized luimp behind my right ear and wonder if these ar related. When I went to urgent care - the MD said she didn't think what was on my scalp was shingles because the lumps were hard. The lump behind my ear was an enlarged lymph node. She said my face looked like Shingles, but it couldn't be because it extended slightly to the other side of my face. It feels like the lesion on my face has turned into two hard lumps now also. The two areas alternate between feeling burny, itchy, and occasionally hurting. Any ideas what this could be?
I'm so sick and tired of being sick and tired. What do I do!?
