lump

So I found this lump on the front of my neck early this week. It is slightly offset to the right but mainly in the front and at the base of my neck. Just above my collarbone. I went to the doctor and they gave me a strep test and also a mono test and they both came back negative. I have had a low fever, I have been very tired and this lump is just sitting there.
My Dad is a healthy 68 year old with no chronic diseases. He has had a lump in his lower front neck, about an inch left of center for about 2 months. The lump seems almost cyst like, it is bigger than a marble, maybe twice the size of a marble. He can move it around without too much effort, its pliable, its not fixed per se, but it doesn't appear dermatological, meaning there is no redness on the skin or anything. It doesn't hurt at all, is pliable, movable.
Does anyone else with chiari have pains at the front of the neck to the Side of but lower than the adam's apple? I have this a lot and it feels to be pressure within a blood vessel on each side. What about bee stings down your spine on your skin from the neck area? Especially after physical work?
I was born with a small lump toward the lower end of my neck in the front. it doesnt cause me any pain but i am constantly asked if it is related to thyroid or fibromitosis. Both of these terms scare me, i guess my question is that over the last two years its almost tripled in size. I am starting to worry. I have no insurance and am low income. Does anyone have an idea what this could be? concerned and confused.....
I also feel a pulse through it.. Is this my carotid artery, or could it be a lump in front of it.. it is very hard for me to tell .. but there is nothign on the other side of my neck that feels like this (it does not hurt).. its been there for a while.. but seems much easier to find now.. also I have been getting "chills" in my jar.. when I am not cold.. it just seems to tense up in my jaw and also all in the back of my neck below the skull . and it causes me to shiver..
I have small pea sized lumps in front of my ear on both sides of my face. I did have a biopsy and I have had these now for 3-4 years. They seem to be mobile- one is somewhat hard and I have gone now to see to ENT doctors as well as asked my other doctors. I just need some peace of mind. Any recommendations? I am a female, 35 years old? I do grind my teeth at night?
I'm assuming it's in the front of your neck, and my first thought was lymph nodes. I understand you're scared, but guessing about it won't fix whatever the problem is and if it IS something serious early treatment often can completely cure the problem. The longer you wait the more it can fester and get worse.
I think the docs here give straight forward answers, of course they dont have your pahology reports in front of them but they do a good job. I have breast cancer and I am presently getting ready for surgery. Like you I am pretty young 41. I got second and 3rd opinions on EVERY aspect of this journey and the docs did not all agree, but atleast I was able to have professional opinions so that I could make an informed decision.
I have recently come across a small lump in the right side of my neck located just past the halfway point of my neck and slightly towards the back (behind my ear as opposed to in front of it). The lump is not painful, hard, and I can move it slightly up and down, and it's not round more of and oval shape. I don't smoke or drink, I am however tired all the time.
I have an 8 month old golden retriever and have just noticed a lump on the back of his meck - just above where his back starts. Th lump is about the size of a gold ball. Could this be the identity chip we had put in or something sinister?
I've told my GP about the tightness in the front muscles of the neck and was given an ultra sound of the thyroid as well the an MRI. Two nodules on both thyroid sides were discovered. Now I have been monitored since February of this year. Nodules are still the same size and will have to go again in October for another ultra sound. In the meantime, the surgeon who is monitoring the nodules told me that I had a clear case of "Tortocallis".
This could be as simple as a muscle knot - which I get all the time due to tension in the neck. Pea size and bigger, along the spinal column at back of neck as well as along the sides of the neck. They hurt, and burn, etc...I have gone to a physio therapist, who has worked them out. They do come back, and will do so if you have neck tension..(stress, computer work, not standing straight, etc...) I still get them, usually from sitting in the driver seat of my car for too long.
Sunday morning I woke up and the small lump had grown to probably the size of a tennis ball and her whole muzzle was swollen with fluid as well as a little down the front chest to between her front legs. So I took her to an emergency hospital. Here, they shaved the side of her neck to look for any signs of a bug bite or puncture wound or bruising. They found none. They also checked her blood clotting times to rule out any type of poisoning. This checked out fine.
If it is sitting on a spot on the thyroid and close to the front, it is likely you will notice it and have the sensation of it pressing on 'something' Many nodules at 1cm or under are just left to wait and watch. They are often just part of having a lumpy-bumpy thyroid. Which many people have and theyhave no treatment. I had numerous ones on my left and right side, I was not aware of any of the smaller ones, till my goitre enlarged. THEN I noticed the lumps! I had one at 4.
hello, i have had a lump(marble size) on my neck(left side directly below my jawline) and has been there for over 5 years now. Recently it has become extremly painful at times and appears to be getting slightly larger when irritated. 5 years back i was appox 250lbs when i first noticed the lump...now im 150. Over the last 5 years i have developed a major sleeping problem. I can be up for 20-30hrs before needing rest. I have very limited energy and feel constantly weak. Also my appetite is gone.
I noticed a lump at the top of my right clavicle (front) near my neck. I am concerned, because when I raise my right arm it appears to hurt just a little. It is something I should be worried about?
I feel worse, weight loss and now have developed a lump at the top of my spine and neck, also on my jaw just in front of my ear on the right. The areas feel hot when touched but yet my temperature is normal when taken. Tingling feeling on my thyroid, dizzy spells and often feel cold and chilly. Full Blood count was done - shoed normal. I am awating the outcome of tests done for Multiple Myeloma. Not sure is this the Epstein Barr again, thyroid or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
Hi, I am so glad to know that I am not the Lone Ranger.I also have neck pain at the base of my skull on the left side and in the front of my neck on the left along with a feeling of a lump when I swallow.I also had this last year and it went away on its own after about 3 months, now it has come back and I have had it for 4 months now.My Doctor has treated me for GERD, post nasal drip and depression. I went to the ENT last year and he also saw nothing.
5 mg of Calcitriol a day. Now, my doctor has put me on Synthroid. My neck has a lump in it and it feels like I am breathing through a thin straw. Will this go away? Can anyone tell me if they have experienced this? Hope this is not permanent.
the skin over it is normal colored. it is located directly in the middle front of neck just beneath my adams apple. Can anyone tell me possible diagnosis of such lumps. I have no medical insurance and want to know how serious this may be. Please help Matt..
I feel better now but my neck is stiff/sore and there is a lump/knot on the back of my neck just to the right of the center at my hairline. My range of motion is improving but I can't quite turn my head completely to the right nor drop my head to my right shoulder. I've been icing it but I'm too afraid to try and crack it in case it makes me sick again. Do you think it's out of place?
They will need to do a biopsy in order to determine definitively, whether or not you have cancer. Was the lump on your thyroid or just in your neck?
All this being said, my biggest concern is now there is a slight discomfort, not a pain going around to the front side of my neck. Not actually on or in the Esophagus but just in that general reason and I am fearing it could be from smoking (on and off for 4 or 5 years but recently been more with the addition of an Adderall prescription). My question is if this muscle pain I have been having could radiate to the front of my neck? I know it is a muscle pain.
Since you are already seeing a reduction in the size of the lump, trama may be the cause. If the neck lump is close to your dogs jaw or chin, it could be a salivary mucocele and having your vet send a sample to the lab for a cytology report will help to determined this. The exudate may appear to be just blood but the cytology will reveal specifics including exact cell type(s), specific gravity and much more information helpful to diagnose this.
Thank you for your time. I have a mass in the left side of my neck that lies just below the jawline, in front of the ear. I see an ENT regularly, so when I was in to see him I pointed out the mass, and he said it was not normal. He did an FNA, and that yielded very little. It said the aspirate showed no malignant cells. It is a cyst or benign tumour. He did say that the aspirate doesn't get everything, so malignancy is slight.
It is a noticable lump right at the top of my neck, at the base of my chin. In times of stress it gets big and scarey. Remember the pictures of old-world woman with big goiters? -- well, it is not as big as that but it is in the same place. Before I was diagnosed I was really worried. There are two eye-ear-throat specialists in my town. one likes to take care of things surgically immediately. The other would choose surgery as the last resort and she is the one I went to.
I have a pea-size lump about 2 inches above my collarbone and to the right of center on my neck. It is wedged between 2 muscles, and it is very movable. I had it checked by my GP, who told me that in her opinion it was most likely a little cyst, and not to worry about it unless it grew in size.
I have just found a lump at the front of my throat where a mans adams apple should be, It is hard but not painful , and about the size of a 10pence piece in diameter. I am 23years old and have smoked for about 10years. Does this sound like it could possibly be anything serious or nothing to worry about?? Please advise as I can't get in to see my dr for a few days. Thank you. Keely.
My oncologist also found a few cyst at the left side of my breast and yesterday I found another one at the front of my right breast. My next appointment with my oncologist is on Mar 28 (there's no vacancy any time sooner), I am just wondering if these are some of the side effects of my disease or I should go to another doctor for checkup right away? Thanks so much.
First of all she should know I can't take Ibuprphen because I am on 400mg. of Celebrex a day and secondly, how is that going to help the KNOT I HAVE STICKING OUT of MY NECK AND THE SWELLING of MY ENTIRE NECK?" If I didn't know that I can't take ibuprphen with celebrex that doctor would have me frying my liver right now.
