Lump at end of clavicle

Common Questions and Answers about Lump at end of clavicle

lump

2 days ago, I fell over at work and landed on my left side, most of the impact on my left shoulder. Immediately afterwards I noticed a clearly defined lump near the shoulder end of my clavicle - 1.5 x 1.5 x 1.5 cm. By the morning it had gone. My shoulder continues to have a loss of 'strength' and is uncomfortable/painful when used. Any ideas?
I found a hard/fixed lump/mass below my right clavicle near the center of the chest about 2 months ago and the bony tip found on the end of clavicle is larger than the one on the left side. In fact, my whole right clavicle is more visible, like it protrudes, more than the left one. I have gone to the Dr., had X-ray that was negative for fracture (past or present) and was advised to schedule a Cat Scan or MRI if is continues to bother me.
About 3 years ago, I started getting swelling above my clavicle. At the time, it didn't hurt and I had nodules on my lungs about 9 of them that they were more concerned about. The nodule ended up being granulomas. Now the swelling above my clavicle has gotten bigger and is bulging above and below my clavicle. My throat always feels like I have a lump in it and my blood pressure has been 159/102. It feels as if it pressing on my heart or a vein because I can hear it beating.
She has swelling in the nodes in her neck, above clavicle and now in the groin area. She tested positive for mono in Sept of 07. Her nodes swelled then too, but not above the clavicle. I'm really scared that this is something serious...should I be?
My 13 year old daughter noticed a lump abover her left clavicle in July. In Aug I had her pediatrician look at it and after reviewing any other causes (illnesses/injury) and checking for other swollenn lymph nodes (there were none), she sent us for lab work. All was fine, although I was a little concerned that her Immature Granulocytes No was high .04 (range 0.00-0.03) and her Immature Granulocytes was 0.5 (range 0.0-0.5) which is on the higher end.
My 7 yr old son has a very hard lump at the end of his clavicle (throat end) that is painless and only moves slightly when manipulated. Any ideas on what this could be?
While the area doesn't appear to be raised up, it is physically visible and can be seen on the chest or under a tight t-shirt. I originally had some pain at the end of the clavicle next to the sternum but only when I moved in certain ways (sometime unreproducible at that time) and pushing and prodding on the chest caused no pain. Since then the lump seems to be roughly the same size but seems more compact not quite hard but not fully rubbery either.
Dear Doctor, several months ago I found a lump at the base of my neck, I had two nodes removed and was diagnosed with NHL. Half way through treatment PET scan showed complete remission however just before my last treatment I noticed a hard lump under the proximal end of my scar which is half way between my sternum and ac joint, about an inch above my clavicle. My oncologist suggested it was scar tissue aggravated by activity and said I needn't worry about a biopsy.
I noticed a 2 pea sized lump just last night. One lump (left side of my neck) just 3 inches above the end of my collar bone and the other lump just an inch above almost inline to my other lump, few inches down the back of my ear. Mine are both a bit painful, hard & still. I told my hubby about it cause I'm worried it might be something serious cause a couple of weeks ago I feel dizzy but dizziness just come & go, also I've been complaining about my backache since I was in grade school.
Hi, I noticed that the end of my right clavicle has a larger bulge than my left side. I'm referring to the ends at which the clavicle come together at your neck. It doesn't necessary feel like a lump but it is larger than the left but just at the tip. Don't want to ignore something that should be checked out. Thanks for any help you can provide.
WOW I have a lump which seems to be on the end of the clavicle/collar bone. Swollen and it hurts all the way into my shoulder and neck. Went for x-rays and blood work. All the thyroid blood work came back normal. Have had it done once a year for quite awhile because of all my complaints. Always normal. Today the lump feels bigger, and actually felt like it was bothering my throat. My x-rays said Torticollis with muscle spasms and calcium deposits.
I received a biopsy four years ago to my left breast and shortly after I had a reaction to the proceedure. My breast was hard with a lump the size of an egg & another lump in the axillary the size of a walnut. The pain was minor but concerning. I had none of these symptoms prior. I went back & it was thought that I had an infection (staph). I took the antibiotics & the swelling went down but not the achy pain, that's sharp when palpated.
The pain I am in starts at the site of the injection. It is a deep throbbing pain that at times will be severe sharp pains. The pain is worsening with each passing day and now is radiating into my shoulder and my neck area. Unfortunately this is my right arm so its effecting every aspect of my life. I can no longer sleep on my right side and I have to use extreme caution picking up something or moving it in a paticular way.
my pain ranges from a 2/3 to 8/9 out of 10, at the low range it's tough to pinpoint, at it's worse, it is intense from below ear to just above collar bone. Tylenol or advil does give good relief, but not total, she is putting me on Naprosyn 500mg 2x day. I'm M 42 non smoker, active... Freakin me out. She did say it's rather common, extremely painful, and tough to diagnose specifically, only rule out other things and treat... I feel ya'lls pain...literally.
Pain at the back of right ear suggest, some kind of nerve compression at the exit from the cervical rib. As you are computer specialists and have to be in one posture for long, also points that it might be related. You need to see an orthopaedician and if possible a neurologist to rule out any pathological state. X-ray of cervical ribs will help to come to some conclusion. Examination by a specialist is foremost important.
3ish--this is accounting for cyclic changes, too) puffy eyelids visble increase in vascularity dimpling of tissue at top of breasts on chest slow, outward protrusion of chestbone and, particularly, right clavicle intermittent fevers of up to 100 degrees, though usually around 99.2 - 99.
The pain is getting more noticible and I have another protrusion (below my left clavicle). I have not gone back to PCP for fear of looking like a lunatic. ANY IDEAS as to what this is? Are there any other tests we should focus on to determine a correct diagnosis? Is this a wierd form of chostocondritis that doesnt go away? What does tilting of sternum mean in terms of my situation? Thanks for the help, much appreciated!
Hodgkin's lymphoma can also explain the abdominal swelling, the tenderness and swollen spleen, potentially swollen liver, edema in my lower extremities, all of my swollen lymph nodes (painless)--especially where it all started, in my neck, my swelling chest and protruding right clavicle, dimpling of the top of the breast tissue, random itching all over at random times, fatigue, weight loss...and maybe even my swollen nasal passages.

And, yours was higher than mine. They didn't catch mine for several months at least either. As for the swollen clavicle, it is best to have it checked despite your fears. Preventive medicine and/or catching something early is better than waiting too long due fears. If there was a tumor most bone tumors are benign. It doesn't have to be Non-Hodgkins Lymphona. Didn't they do a complete blood count lately? If so they would have seen it on that test. I hope all is well.
How can i have enlarged lymph nodes ( i have a cluster of three at the base of my neck, near my clavicle and one on each side of my neck, the other doctor confirmed that) and cough up mucus and have rapid weight loss and nothing at all is showing up on my tests?? I really look like a anorexic hychondriac. Should i insist on a lymph node biopsy? Can you even insist on a test like that?
I first found out about the nodules at the end of April. It took a week or so to see the PCP, another 2-3 weeks to see an endo, 1 week for their office to book the biopsy, 2 week wait for the biopsy, 5 days wait for the path. 2 weeks wait for the surgeon, and 6 weeks from then until the procedure. I don't know if that all adds up, but that's what it's amounting to. Like I said, this better not be malignant, and if it is, it better be Stage I. Hope your visit went well.
Anyhow, he told me to come back in six weeks so that he could make sure that the nodes were not getting any bigger. I am seeing my GP at the end of this month and will most likely ask for blood work just to be on the safe side. I just have a feeling that these doctors see so many patients that they just blow off things like swollen lymph nodes.
Hello, I am a 39 yo female with 4 children I had breast fed my children, I am not sure if any of this is important to tell you but I figured I put that in there too, history of no breast cancer in my family that I am aware of but other cancers have been found in familiy members in there later years. I do have a history of fibrocystics but this lump does not move at all. I do however have not went though what many people call the change of life yet.

Then, a breast exam puts pain on this mystery spot, which sends shooting pain down my left arm. Also there are diagnosed cysts in that Left breast per mammograms. And towards the end of long painful mystery bump is my underarm. The Left breast area is hard in that area and painful on the mystery bump, and on the side next to and under my underarm/breast. Under my Left arm is a large painful to the touch bump, but it matches my other underarm.
Hi. Itchiness or burning sensation of the skin is one of the B symptoms of lymphoma. With chemotherapy, this symptom should eventually resolve. The medications given to you are supportive measures to also address the itchiness. Good luck.
almost felt like a muscle crampy sort of hurt. but that came and went and only lasted a couple of hours at a time 5 hrs max at a time per day. That went on for a few days and then the crampy/pressure/pain started up by my ears. at that point the crampy/pressure/pain was much more constant. but still came and went through out the day.
Then a few months ago I noticed an intolerance to alcohol of any kind. Would have half of a glass of wine with dinner, and by the end of dinner my soles of my feet would be itching badly and I would swell up even worse. I would also get this searing pain in my jaw, neck, and clavicle area (shoulder), and all where I have swollen lymph nodes. It will happen within the first few sips and will last as long as I am drinking.
I have stiff neck, hears ringing in my ears with a sensation of cabin pressure, feels fatigue during the middle of the day usually by 3PM, stomach feels bloated and churning, night sweats during the early course but not anymore, headache, had diarrhea for about 5 days, burning sensation once in awhile on my feet (i don't know if it's peripheral neuropathy), and i feel like i have a lump on the side of my neck. I never had fever or lymphadenopathy though.
